Hair looks good as is but beard looks mature where as clean is young. Stubble I find is the best in between

How competitive is getting a cardiothoractic residency

you have to get a residency in general surgery first then fellowship into cardiothoracic

No, now there are direct entry CT residencies and those are CRAZY competitive. I can't give you exact #'s but I know vascular & plastics (the other 2 direct entry programs) have like 1/3 of available spots as there are applicants. Not to discourage you bc if that's your dream you'll make it happen.

NASA fellowship...I'm dead (so please talk more about that! haha). That's pretty much the coolest thing I've ever heard in my life-and as a critical care nurse, I've heard some pretty cool stuff :P

Hi Dr. Parker! I am a 3rd yr med student seriously considering surgery residency. I am actually really looking into the integrated 6 year CT surgery residency (I6 program). Do you have any opinion on going that route vs. general surgery? Thanks!! Also- yes beard and short on sides, longer on top, aka just how you have it looks great!

@@Henry-oh5kz Haha so in a major turn of events I did a Pediatric ICU rotation later that year, fell in love with it after a long decision-making crisis, did Pediatric residency and now am in my first year of PICU fellowship!

Yes. Being a full fledged surgeon can take a toll on life. 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 4-7 years surgery residency, 1-3 years of fellowship.
