If you are a lazy viewer who can’t pay attention to a 10 minute video and are going to blame this wonderful lady for your problems by saying the video was to long, as some of you already have, then I want you to save your breath. Below are the 12 different uses Jewels mentions for mentholated vapor rub along with where you can find it in the video. As for me I think her voice is as soothing as the mentholated vapor rub she is talking about and that she is more attractive than Piper Perabo and Angalina Jolie put together and I will probably watch the video a couple more times just so I can hear and watch her speak. 1. Cystic acne 2:20 2. Migraines 3:40 3. Cold relief (via feet) 4:20 4. Stretch marks 4:42 5. Loose skin 5:32 6. Toenail fungus 6:02 7. Dog & Cat training aid 6:50 8. Cuts splinters & bug bites 8:02 9. Safe alternative to bug spray 8:20 10. Healing bruises 8:53 11. Fake tears 9:12 12. Eczema, Rosacea 9:40 Thanks for the useful tips Jewels. I very much appreciate it and you can be assured I will put them to use.

***** The video is exactly 11 minutes long. Brushing your teeth takes longer than that. The video is not long. Rambling means going of topic. Does she really go off topic? You'd be surprised. Go back and check. Maybe even do a time stamp of it if you're so inclined. Saying it's not a dis does not take away that it is disrespectful to falsely label something because it did not turnout the way you expected it. I posted an index for the video to prove a point and that is that if I could listen through the video and find out where every segment begins than so could everybody else. What the video is, is detailed. It is not brief, not an outline or a tweet. It is a through explanation of a series of uses for a common medicine chest ointment. So that she was able to give all that detail in just 11 minutes I think it is exactly the opposite of what you say. It is a short concise video. Maybe you and others wanted her to just say one sentence on each use but then the video would not have turned out as she intended. If you think that a 2 minute video spitting out a list with one sentence each is better than post one. Otherwise stop being critical and appreciate the time and effort that went into giving such useful information.

Just to let you know, my grandmother gave us a spoon of a cough medicine she made containing Vicks vapo rub. It had in it honey,lemon juice, brandy olive oil and Vicks rub. she melted all of it down and left it sitting on the stove to keep it liquid. I am 51 years old and I never catch colds. I was crossing the street in NY when, a bus went by with a sign that said grandma was right you can take Vicks rub orally. after that I aways keep it in my house because my husband always have a cold.

Thanks for the great video. You can also use Vicks for back pain. It works as a rub on your skin and it numb the pain away so that you feel better. It helps the skin to breath better. Its also good to use if you have a cold, to add a little to a small pot of water and boil it. Breath in the vapors as a it boils and it kills the cold virus. I put it on my head with some coconut oil whenever I have a headache. You can also put it around your nose if you have a hard time breathing due to allergies. You can mix a little bit of vicks with some epson salt in a bucket of warm water to soak your feet. Thanks!

This worked for me. I was told to put it on a fresh pimple so it would burst on its own quickly. It works for that. So the other night I tried it on a couple of these cystic acne spots on my body that just weren't going away and they shrank visibly overnight. I'm going to start lathering my body in this stuff.

I had a bad abcess and couldn't go to dentist. My daughter told me to put campho-phenique on the outside of my mouth and it would heal it. I only had vicks vapo rub and since it had camphor in it I started rubbing it on the outside of my mouth where the abcessed tooth was. Next morning I could tell the swelling was going down. In two days the abcess was done for. I love vicks.

vicks is a great deterant for ants and lady bugs along with mosquitos. just rub some around windows and doorways to keep pests out. u can also use liquid vicks and spray it. i personally prefer the cream as it seems to last longer. reapply when u notice pests coming inside again. i also use this on my tent when i go camping.

Snehal Jogale that's such bullshit, I wouldn't put something up if it was dangerous and stupid to do. Doctors that study migraines have said it themselves. You're NOT putting vicks in your eyes idiot, it's on the upper eye lid and even then you don't glob it on, you put very little just so your eye can release a bit of pressure.

This is a great video, thank you. We also use Vicks as well. You tought me a lot in this video and I'm 53 and have been using it all my life and on my children and grandchildren. When the kids got sick we always put Vicks on their throat, chest, lung area of the back, under their nose and on the bottom of their feat and made them a hot tottie and put them to bed. They were always better in the morning. I have always used Vicks for deep muscle pain, especially at night when you get those nasty charlie horses. I also put Vicks all over my abds, and wrap myself in a clean, new black plastic garbage bag and wear supper tight shorts and top before I start my workouts. When I am done with my work out and take it off it is soaked all the way through to my shorts. I shower and I swear my stomach looks smaller and smaller all the time. I also use Vicks for severe itching, not just bug bites, but from having my legs on the grass, too dry skin in the Winter, etc... Vicks and Vaseline are two important remedies for me. Take care, GOD bless............

When my daughter was born, she had really bad colic which is gas in her tummy. A family friend suggested I put Vicks or Mentholatum on her belly button or if she still had her umbilical cord (which she did) then put it, not on, but around her belly button area. I swear it worked within 15 minutes. I put a onesie on her just in case she touched her belly so she couldn't get it in her eyes. Up to 15 minutes later it sounded like popcorn in her diaper. LOL She and I both were able to get some much needed sleep. Oh and this works on adults as well in case you wondered. Gas pains can be very painful and putting some Vicks or Mentholatum (whichever you have) on or around your belly button will make your gas pains start to go away within 15 minutes. Just be sure to go to a room by yourself if you are easily embarrassed about passing gas.

I'm using this for my varicose veins. It seems to act as an adstringent (tightens the skin). Probably not a good long term solution but might help in a cosmetic sense. Ultimately I think VV's are caused by a combination of hormone imbalance, lack of exercise and poor diet/eating too often. To counter this I've stopped drinking from plastic bottles, walking more, fasting and cutting right down on sugar/only eating less sweet fruits.

Another use is as a mosquito, nat, horse flies..etc repellent. I have been working construction for over 30 years in some bug infested places (especially at the foundation level) and this absolutely works. Just rub a line of it across the back of your neck or down the sides of your neck. I usually rub some on the back of my triceps and if shirtless then across my back. I learned this from a old bricklayer who's dad showed him way back when there wasn't much to use.

I havenoi idea why but as soon as I started reading your post I had a feeling God was going to be mentioned no offence meant but if prayer really helped there would be no reason for the other measures you mentioned
@analarson2920
@analarson2920 7 жыл бұрын
No offense taken, Duke University has a lot of research on how prayer works for good health, check into it. Our body, mind and spirit is all connected, you can not do one thing without it affecting the others. Part of the problem with today's modern medicine is they try to compartmentalize human problems, but that does not work. Sometimes God just heals us, and then He needs us to take the hard road to get more out of the journey. Having hope and helping each other is also caring and prayerful. In this world we have the opportunity to use all three things and not to, I have seen better results with using it all for myself and others. If we believe in God and try to care for ourselves and others then we understand our existence and our purpose. We do have to help ourselves and God usually has the best answers since He sees it all and knows it all. So why do you think you were having that feeling about God?

I have used Vicks for headaches (Migräne) and colds for years and its nice to see these other uses. I make my own herbal remedies and know how effective plants antiviral, antibiotic antiseptic and antifungal properties can be (sorry anti inflammatory too). Two points. .a) I thought you were 20 at the oldest. .your doing something right with your skin! and b) my kitten (1 year old) has a 'thing' for Vicks..she tries to eat it off you. .and not gently...she's not above waiting till you're asleep and trying to eat the Vicks off you then....she acts like other cats do to catnip with Vicks. I would put a caveat on the cat repellent bit as obviously some love it (Halls Mentholyptus does the same she tries to get them out of your mouth lol! Thanks for the upload x

I get a lot of earaches. When this happens I put a little Vicks on my finger and rub it on the inside of my ear. I don't go too deep of course. The heat from it warms the ear canal and makes the earache go away.

Thank you so much...going to try it right now (on face) and maybe a couple other spots. If this works I owe you big time...Gosh I hope this works. I didn't even get acne as a teen, and now I am getting a couple stubborn and hard spots on my cheek-I won't even allow my family to take pics of me. It has been over a year, and can't seem to get it to heal. You just gave me major hope!

I stumbled across your video by accident. And I have to send you a great big thank you! I have had this painful bump under my skin, next to my mouth, for over a month. It has been freaking me out because I cant get rid of it (I am still planning on asking my doctor, just to be sure) BUT.... I just wanted to thank you because I did not know there was such a thing. You saved my anxiety button.:) I would also like to add that they actually make a stick (like a over sized chap stick tube) for headaches. and once you said vics. I know now what the smell reminded me of. A friend let me use it & rubbed on temples, I felt almost immediate relief, I wish I knew the name of it I looked it up and found a tube called HeadOn headache treatment. SO BIG THANK YOU ON SHARING YOUR INFORMATIVE INFO! YAY!!!! On another note, someone had written about Vaseline type products being bad on pores and possible skin cancer. I am a first hand witness to the amazing effects plain ole Vaseline does for a womens skin, I know of four elderly ladies, that do NOT look their age, show no pores and when you ask them what's their secret, they all said "all their lives, they used faithfully Vaseline" and that is all they ever used. Two of them since passed, one of them my grandmother 97 and it didnt run in our family gene because her 11 sisters and brother did not have skin like hers.. at all. Never a day, that you didnt look at their skin and think wow! oh, and no cancer either.

Hmm, that makes me wonder if it works on cold sores too? ( Your pimple wasn't a cold sore was it? ) I hate cold sores, usually use some chapstick made to fight them, but if Vicks cured it too that'd be better... now that I think of it, the medical chapstick reminds me of Vicks hmmm.

Ha ha this made me laugh a lot! Glad to know it works the way it was intended as well as all the added benefits. I'm gonna be checking out every crying scene on TV to see if I can spot shiny patches of Vick's vapour rub under the actors' eyes! In fact, crying scenes are hereby known as "she's doing a Vick's" from now on in my house. We used to refer to them previously as "she's doing a cow's arse" (best said with an Irish accent)

Alexis calcagno I believe accidental inhalation of a petroleum based product (like Vicks vaporub) can be lethal to anyone because the lungs and the airway cannot bring it back up. It cannot be expectorated (ever) and I believe a chemical pneumonitis or pneumonia type illness will ensue. Also, one does not know if there are toxic chemical impurities in the essential oils used in the product as it is sold as an OTC ointment, not to be consumed. :-)

I just want to tell anyone who may watch this... if you treat cystic acne with Vicks and it suddenly gets better or gets extremely worse and then better, your problem isn't simply cystic acne. By extremely worse I mean large painful thin skinned eruptions filled with pus *grossest thing I have ever typed and left my name on*, you need to research demodex. Demodex is a pesky mite usually found in the skin and eyelashes, however when it over populates and feeds on sebum it can cause acne or roscacea like symptoms from the toxins it excretes. Please research it, my own research saved my sanity.

I was just educating people, graphic has an intent and purpose occasionally and I even admitted the actual statement was gross, thanks for being mature about it, your words could hurt someone remember that always. Think before you post perhaps, that'd be real adult of you. Or just don't comment perhaps.

I apologize. I suppose, without being able to view my facial expression and body language at the time, my statement could be interpreted as hurtful. My first impression of your post was more like, "Wow, what an unfortunate condition!" but, of course, my reptilian brain had to do the typing. BTW, I think the reaction you were describing may have happened because VapoRub is petroleum based. Vicks makes a non-petroleum cream that may work without the side effects.

@intrinsicloathing
@intrinsicloathing 10 жыл бұрын
Kate I appreciate your response I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply. In response to your hypothesis about the response being evoked by the fact that its petroleum based, is valid, however I've always used petroleum-based substances on my skin particularly my face. One of the horrible side effects of demodexvis that you have seborrhoeic dermatitis which is severe dandruff on your face or scalp, and the only thing that ever helped that for me was Vaseline or Crisco. Come to find out, that was possibly making it worse (only the Demodex, Crisco is AMAZING on healthy skin as a double duty moisturize), however I never had the reaction until I used the Vicks VapoRub which has camphor in it, there are also other tests that you can do such as the microscope test, & I have performed that as well. If anybody is interested in my actual struggle with this, as embarrassing as it is, please look up Mandi Mite on KZbin and you can watch my two or two to four videos regarding the matter. Thank you everyone for being so understanding.

In my profession, I deal with the death and dying process of the elderly. As we get older, geriatrics takes hold and there are certain odors that come along with that. Their are "bathroom" odors, of course. But when I have been witness to the act of dying, or been there after the patient has passed it a whole new ball game. On occasion, we haven't gotten called in after a few days, so . . . as you can guess the odor can overtake you. I learned from an old mortician friend who used to work as a county coroner, keep Vicks Vap-o-Rub in your med kit. Smear a nice size bead of it under your nose to mask any human decay odors. Gross, I know, but it works.

when i first started working in a nursing home years ago the lady that trained me said to keep some mint gum on hand. it must have something to do with the mint/menthol that helps. her advice was very good and did work too. I imagine vics smell would last longer but its a little easier to keep a stick of gum on hand and brings less attention to what your doing too. mind u...i wasn't dealing with human decay odor....but when u have an entire floor of adult diapers to deal with it can get very bad too.
