Hey m8! If you don't mind me asking, what was your level at before starting? I'm wondering because my level was "within the normal range" but right at the bottom and things were just not working out for me in so many ways before starting TRT, and so I strongly believe the "normal range" is not for everyone, and that having an optimal level is important
@skinny_sam7 ай бұрын
@@GearScar oscillating between 301ng/dl and 330. When I tried my best to optimize supplements sleep working out diet etc I was around 420 but I didn’t feel any improvement on my symptoms so I would stop again etc.. it was a vicious cycle that lasted more than 2 years. I wish that I would have done that sooner tbh. It’s life saver So I agree with you. The issues nowadays is that nobody routinely checks their testosterone so we don’t know what our base level where. I heard that if your baseline is 900 and you drop to 500 you’ll feel awful
@GearScar7 ай бұрын
@@skinny_sam thanks for the reply! My level was just below 400 last time it was checked, I had it checked every 3 months prior to that and it was higher but continuously dropped till it got to about 350, and then I started trt, started out good and seemed to be getting better and better, until I think I made a mistake, I found a report saying how vitamin B12 can also greatly help energy and improve other things, and in a intramuscular dosage it can be mixed directly into the trt dosage, so I started doing that, now fast forward about 3 months to today, I’m getting shortness of breath, muscle weakness, tingling/numbness in random areas, joint pain, etc. which is said to be side effects from the B12, so I am very hopeful, dropping the B12 and just doing pure trt again. It’s funny because several people said B12 is super safe, whatever your body doesn’t need of it it’ll just turn into waste, and essentially you can’t go wrong with it. So hopefully after dropping the B12 everything will start to get better again

Thanks for this explanation, James! I’ve never tried TRT but have a friend in the UK who had a bad experience after giving it a go. He’s only 28 and while it was amazing for gains in the short term, it nearly wrecked his hormonal balance re testosterone levels after it wore off - low mood, no libido, lack of motivation to train, and low energy in general. I recommended standardised hot-water Tongkat Ali root extract as a form of PCT and it helped immensely. 3 months later he’s back in form and feeling better than ever! Think it’s definitely important to have a fall back that can help your body retain hormonal balance post cycle.

You're 100% correct. It's very easy for guys to focus only on the muscle building benefits of testosterone while ignoring the long list of potential unwanted side effects, that aren't as easy to remedy as just discontinuing testosterone

I have never had a libido my entire life despite having a testosterone over 600 every time it was tested. Every day I wake up with an erection despite never having erotic dreams. Girlfriends got bored with me so I stopped looking for any. The last 3 decades I have lived life and never cared. Low stress and enjoying a great steak is far better than stressing over not being interested in sex.

I can relate very much to this video. I have No libido. I’ve been on TRT for about 7 years. My estrogen level is normal. However my own production of testosterone has shut down. I think that is the reason for the disappearance of my libido. I’m going to start HCG soon. I hope that will help.

You never stated how much you are using, what type of testosterone ester you are using and frequency of pinning and what are your blood testosterone levels. The oil in your testosterone even matters castor oil is the best it last many times over let's say peanut oil. If you are an older guy you could use some dostinex to increase your dopamine and that helps libido

@@yiannis.demetriou9696 I take 200 mg of testosterone cypianate twice per week. However most of the time I’ve been on testosterone, I’ve had pellets implanted. They worked very well for about 5 years. The last 2 years I’ve lost my libido. Testosterone levels were always at high normal range, 850 to 1000. At first I was tak something to keep my own production going. I stopped doing that about 3 years in. I just started my new protocol of 200 mg injections. My nurse practitioner prescribed 3x week. However that seems too high. I’m just going to do 2x week. I’m also waiting on HCG. I think that may help my libido.

@@mattarndt4452 I do not think it is a problem of testosterone but unless you are pinning with an insulin needle I would start using Test enanthate i was abusing steroids for years using Test sustanon but when I started using test enanthate my libido went through the roof. You should talk with your Dr. Of course but ask him about this especially test enanthate in castor oil and check your prolactin levels especially if you feel sleepy at odd times and give Dostinex a try, half a pill twice a week. Hcg will add a bit home made test and increase your testicle size, I myself use Triptorelin (Arvekap 0,1 mg) it stimulates the brain to secrete both Lh and Fsh vs Hcg which is a synthetic version of Lh

If you are making health changes through lifestyle and naturally it may actually take you years to re-align your health. You are learning at the same time as you are attempting to change learned behaviours that have largely been driven by pleasure ie. your poor habits. You also need to follow this creed if you decide to take artificial enhancements so you may as well get really good at turning your behaviours around before making any artificial changes. So this information is really good that you put up James, however the problem is still men want to reach for what changes them tomorrow without understanding the mechanisms/behaviours of degeneration that probably took decades to get their bodies to their current state that finally made them contemplate change.

Yeah, that sweet spot is definitely different for every individual - it's one reason why regular bloodwork 3-4 x's a year is important. It's going to take even a good doctor a bit of adjustment to zero in on that ideal range, factoring in not just lab results but also how you feel
@thetriggerman9548 ай бұрын

My boyfriend is concerned about free testosterone levels. His testosterone level is about 590 as a 45-year-old, but his free testosterone levels are very low. He is very worried about that. Can you give me any advice
@JamesGrage8 ай бұрын
Hi. So, of course I have to say that the best thing he should do is speak to a good physician who is experienced with TRT. With that said, one of the things that they will look for is SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) levels. SHBG binds to testosterone and "locks it up" and rendering it "unusable" if you will, which lowers free "usable" testosterone levels. If SHBG is high they may prescribe something to lower it. A good friend of mine, Dr Brett Osborn will also recommend supplements like Magnesium, Boron, Vit D, EFA's and Stinging Nettle. With all that said, my guess is the first thing they'll do is suggest raising his overall testosterone levels slightly.
@BillyJ108 ай бұрын
Good video. Also, if your estrogen is too low, it can affect the quality of your hard on. I am 55 years old, I've been on trt for 5 years now and I'm pretty well optimally dialed in. I have never done steroids prior to trt so the testosterone has been an absolute gamer changer for me. I take 10 mg of cialis daily to keep my blood pressure in check. But, I will say, the one peptide i began using about 4 years ago during the summer months is melanotan 2. Aside from a perfect tan, it f*cking skyrockets my libido.....lol

okay you give us a bunch of info about libido but basically every medication you said it is bad so then what?

That's why it's important to sit down with a qualified physician and have them review both your bloodwork and your medications. This video isn't meant to offer medical advice, but instead offer some food for thought, so you can have an intelligent conversation with your doctor.

@TotalEquilibrium17 ай бұрын
@@mattarndt4452 I don't believe I'm the exception. There are many like me. When experiencing low T the first port of call is to identify the root cause if you possibly can. This could be something that is unrelated, blood pressure, blood sugar, over training, thyroid function, iron overload, nutrient deficiencies just to name a few. The secret to healthy T levels as an older guy is to treat the body as an entire organism optimise the entire body not only considering testosterone. David Pascoe is 61 years and his T is higher than mine. If you have been on TRT for 8 years then it would probably cause you problems to try anything else though. All the best dude wish you well.
