I am with you on this one. I am currently reading Fast Like Girl and I think it will be the missing piece out of Unlocking the Keto Code. The hormonal cycle piece is something that I have been struggling with since starting my fasting journey after reading Gundry's book.

@@TheResetterPodcast I've been following Dr. Gundry awhile now but I just recently found your channel and I'm so inspired by your talks and the information you share! I've always done an intermittent fast of 12-14 hours easily no problem but after finding your channel I decided to start trying 16 hours. I'm having a cup of black coffee in the AM to help and now I've easily been able to go 16-19 hours with no problem the last few days. My issue before was not that I was hungry, but I wanted that energy boost and dopamine hit in the AM. I actually changed my diet of UPF first before I started more fasting (I know you recommend the opposite and for me clean food was easier than fasting :). I don't have much weight to lose, perhaps 5 lbs if I want to look really good. I'm 46 and heavy into perimenopause and feeling symptomatic with adrenal burnout. That's what's motivating me, I want to feel better and have more energy! I see an integrative doctor locally for bloodwork but the last NP I saw made me about skeptical of the practice or at least her. My fasting insulin was 1.9, my HBA1C 5.5, my fasting glucose 80, and all other lab measures were good. She said fasting insulin was too low and HBA1C too high and prescribed that I snack and eat every few hours because my insulin was too low and I need to make more in order to bring glucose down. That makes sense but I'm not sure about her recommendation of snacks and eating every few hours and she also said no fasting. However, I'm trying your intermittent fasting approach and will eat all my daily calories in a 6-8 hour window and then go for bloodwork in 3 months and see how it looks. Thanks for any advice!

I decided to comment on this particular video because ohhhhh how I appreciate both of you so much lol!! I started taking biocomplete3 a couple of years ago and have been thrilled with the results. About a year before that I had begun to dabble in intermittent fasting. Long story short I’m obsessed with you both and the amazing work you do for us. Anyway,… here’s the scoop,… I just completed my first 24 hour fast at 1pm today. Thanks to watching dozens and dozens of your videos (Doc Pelz),and following your advice, I did so feeling pretty seamlessly. But!!!,… upon breaking fast with an avocado, terrasoul golden flax seeds, beet kavass and Doc Gundrys poly olive oil,…. WhoaAA BUDDY did I spend about two to three hours in and out of the bathroom. I would so appreciate any guidance on this as I plan on working 24 hour fasts into my fasting journey on the regular. Thank you for your time!! And please keep up the good work!!! Blessings, Kasey

Now I’m listening to Dr. Gundry and it feels many times so contradicting to what I’m learning from Dr Pelz 😢😩

_In the study Dr. Gundry refers to that people fasted 30 days to heal their guts did he mean _*_ONE 30-day fast or 30 days of Intermittent Fasting?_* This is _extremely_ important to me because I've fasted 80% of my life (IF and prolonged) over the last *NINE MONTHS with CLEAN EATING and NO LECTINS OR ADDED SUGAR* and I'm still experiencing some histamine intolerance which this makes NO SENSE to me and is very discouraging. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question!

I think it's also worth pointing out that us 30-40 year old women with 2 kids and a job are also so tired because American society has moved so far away from having a "tribe". And being a full time mom, full time worker, and full time household manager is way too much work for one person. We benefit in so many ways from our community.

I followed Dr Pelz fasting to the letter. I got so so sick! It’s not as healthy as she makes it.
