I got the Kansbol for Christmas and bought myself an Eldris shortly after and am loving both! They are great fire starting knives! I have been carrying the Eldris ever day in my pocket and really enjoy it. Having to take it in and out of the sheath isn't as big of a deal as I first thought it would be.

I like my Kas knife for whittling with out camping. I'm old and big, this knife made me more than one spoon, whistle, and cooked a many meal. The blade is versatile for that. Never saw that smaller one before..probably better for whittling and small choirs. Nice video.

Hey Bryan👋😎 I was given the Eldris as a gift, and quite honestly, I wasn't impressed at first. I started carrying it as a neck knife when hiking, and was surprised to find how many tasks I was using it for on the trail. When deer season came around, I threw it in my pack and forgot about it until I killed a deer, and found I left my trusty field dressing knife on the sharpening bench. The little Eldres knife took care of the field dressing without any problems at all, in fact its small size gives much better control inside the body cavity when harvesting the internal organs. The grip was far superior and safer to use than most other knives when dealing with slippery conditions like the ones hunters experience. Thanks for the honest reviews and keep poking fun at the metric crowd! I love that sarcastic humor!

I had a similar incident happen with me last deer season. My cousin got a deer and he was having trouble skinning it. I had my Eldris hanging around my neck and started helping him skin his deer. It did very well. It was still hair shaving sharp after I finished. That proved to me it would make a great emergency situation knife.

Both of theses blades are Designed this way for skinning Games. You sharpen the Blades as you would do another Blade just Concentrate on the cutting edge of the Blade and don’t let the shape of the overall Blade confuse you into to thinking you need to sharpen it differently. I just love my Mora’s been using them for now for over 50 years Totally Brilliant Knifes

Both of those knives are fantastic. I think the Kansbol might out preform the Garberg in general use. The tapered blade is great for slicing.

The Kansbol is all I want in an allround knife and comes at a great price. The Garberg might be cool and all, but it ain't worth the money. It's an overpriced people pleaser made specifically for the American market where people value a full tang above all else so they can abuse their blades. And the only way you'll ever break a mora is from improper use. So the Kansbol wins.

I've had my Eldris for a few months now and I wear it as a neck knife while doing yard work, etc. I have the green colored one and it's a very useful knife. I put a ranger band on the handle and I measured it perfectly where the sheath still retains the blade and the ranger band doesn't cover the lanyard hole. When I first got the knife I sharpened it and stropped it to shaving sharp and last weekend I cut up a big single walked box and when I was done I stropped it using green compound (even though it still sliced paper) because it wasn't shaving sharp. I payed $17 for it on Amazon because I was looking for a neck knife and since I already had a Mora Companion I knew that price was worth it for the Mora quality. Another good video.

Another great review Brian. I have both knives and they’re both terrific tools for camping and bushcraft tasks. I have been forcing myself to carry the Eldris as my primary tool because it reminds me of the knife Otzi the ice man was found with, so it intrigued me to see exactly how much could be done with so small a blade. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how capable it has been so far, given my own limitations skills wise.

Metric! I was brought up here in the UK with both, starting work at 16 the old skilled boys used inches, so I did, now I flit between the two. I hate it when people hate on either system. Metric is easier to work with, which is why I think Inches should be taught in schools, those fractions stretch your mind! Here they teach Centimetres in schools, but industry uses Millimetres, and cars drive miles, and we talk about MPG, yet buy fuel in litres..... Oh nice review BTW

The Eldris cuts significantly different than I expected, out of the box the edge was unsatisfactory through cardboard. One sharpening and two strops later and there's a lot less resistance but it still doesn't feel nice like a kansbol/garberg. Will not cut double layered corner boxes! Even a delica will do that! I see it as a non optional companion to one of the above knives for doing detailed work, push cuts, personal grooming, cutting cordage, opening packaging, etc so you don't even waste your main knive's hone

I have used both knives & find the Kansbol very useful & really capable as an all round knife. LOVE the kansbol handle. I find *the Eldris is not so good.* A folding knife, milti-tool, or a SAK is much better than the limited Eldris. So the Mora Kansbol = thumbs up And the Mora Eldris = thumbs down In my humble opinion. *EDIT:* Happy Independence Day!!

Awesome Bryan! Great review :) I believe Kansbol is like an improved version of 2000 and I like it a lot ( 2000 is my favorite Mora for game processing because of the thinner tip of the blade) The blade shape and angle are really great for all kinds of tasks. The Eldris...I think there is some shopping to be done. I like the compact size, the blade shape and angle. But the way it seems to carve and make feathers. I really wanna try one now :) I like neck knives in generally. I might go for the version with the kit. ( I usually have a ferro rod with my neckers) Together the Kansbol and the Eldris would make a really nice light weight stainless combo. Would make nice camp and bushcraft combo for my son too :) Thank you for sharing! Big thumbs up! Ps. :D metric or inches, engines run, planes fly, knives cut and life goes on. Funny to think it is such a big deal that someone gets triggered because of that. Lol.
