Normal soap and hot water is fine. We do have some good bacteria on our skin, so one should not constantly be using disinfectant (usually alcohol based or antibacterial soap). Those are good to use once in a while when you enter a grocery store for example. I did get in the habit of washing my hands often after I had an annoying skin infection near my eyes, not to mention the pandemic that also encourages me to wash my hands more often.

I keep a premix of soap and water in my truck....Mainly because I'm a mechanic....but it's nice for keepin the digits clean. If you want a good hand cleaner thats medical rated, look for 3m Avagard D, doesn't dry out your skin, and hangs around for a bit...also has a nice moisturizing effect.

Alcohol based hand rubs are the best choice when your hands arent visibly soiled due to how effective and timely it is. Soap and water for when you have visibly dirty hands and the time it takes to actually wash your hands. Whether you use either one mechanical friction plus whatever chemicals used removes bacteria/viruses and your natural flora will be back pretty quickly anyways due to how bacteria divide (logarithmic vs linear) No matter what, good hand hygiene will help! Its basically the first lesson that is taught in nursing school and is the first step for pretty much any hands on treatment and procedure.

Yeah... thats what somehow many people not know. If you disinfect to much you destroy your body-own bacteria-flora which literaly helpt you... they do no harm and hold a place where if killed by to much disinfection bad outside bacteria can dock on...

The game has an enticing early game, but then the pacing is all over the place. Once you nail down basic needs/crisis proof your colony enough - which usually happens with around 50-70 people colony - mid/end game is a bit of repetitive slog, lacking the danger. Overall I liked it, but it is one-and-done thing for me due to that.

@@CamoflagedTumbleweed there is combat. sometimes a group of bandit will ask for materials you can scare them in dialogue if they are not scared they will attack the gate if it gets destroyed 4 to 6 (i think) bandit will come in and destroy buildings and sometimes random bandits or giant spiders will attack from the side of the map without knocking your gate.

Get your specialists at home to kill the deer(things) (bears, boars, bugs) and help out with collecting their meat and also berries/wood - if any left. Towers (scout, guard) expand your vision - add them to the very edge of buildable area for max effect. You can DIRECTLY control guards. Even if you JUST assigned them to a tower. They're pretty decent in numbers, say 8 of them (4 towers) can connect pretty much anything to God's wifi in short order as long as you can keep them together.

I just picked this up on Console. It's not too bad I play I enjoy it. Even the tutorials aren't very useful but the encyclopedia has lots of useful information. Expand slowly..... Rapid expansion of buildings leaves you without people to carry stuff.

I really enjoy splattercat's style of playing/discussing games, but this would be a prime example of why he just isn't useful when it comes to choosing a game. This game has a Mixed rating on steam. The downvotes on it explain a lot of critical issues with the game. But you really don't get to see any of it in this video because it's cut in a more entertaining over informative style. At best, splattercat does enjoyable videos that you should only use to guide you to in-depth reviews/research. There is little info to make an informed buying choice. To the fans(I consider myself one) not saying Splattercat is not fun to watch it's just a shame because I would love to see actual reviews out of him rather than sizzle reels A real shame because he does have a fun style of communication and some excellent takes on games.

Wow, this game is an exact clone of "Endzone a world apart" recently released. The assets, the eco structure, resource chains etc. Maybe these two games came out from one team that later had been split up like a "SnowRunner" - "Mudrunner" offroad sims.

I find these games dumb because there's so many leftover facilities, buildings, and complexes in good locations in small to medium cities thar you'd never need to do this shit. Just maintain and modify a facility. That being said. Splat always delivers.

Town or village sure but considering the plot behind the game almost every city would be pretty much destroyed or in a non habitable state

Yeah they could probably just set up in a small city, town or village. However it might be that: A) The other pre-apocalyptic small cities, towns and villages around them are already settled and overpopulated, so this group of people felt they had to strike out on their own. (Like in the selection menu one of the images shows 2 people trying to get into a city defended by a gate and armed guards standing at a watchpost, with signs on the gate saying "keep out" and ["don't come in unless you have food"] written on them.) B) The "good" communities/settlement areas might be too far away to travel to. Like for all we know this is taking place in like post-apocalyptic Montana or Alaska. Any communities accepting of newcomers or good vacant settlement areas might be hundreds of miles away. C) The airborne pollutants lingering in many bombed out areas might be bad enough to prevent settlement in them. D) The remaining communities might well have been taken over and absorbed into small post-apocalyptic fiefdoms and tin pot dictatorships by large groups. Even if a habitable pre-apocalyptic settlement is not currently ruled by tyrants or occupied by anyone, there's always a risk that the settlement will be discovered by armed scouts working for a tyrant while those armed scouts are doing fact finding missions in a region using pre-apocalyptic made maps. E) There might be less risk of invasion by armed bandits, raiders and violent scavengers. Probably a lot of those groups would scavenge from pre-apocalyptic ruins as well as steal from and kidnap people from other groups. Also those violent groups are probably smart enough to realise that the majority of the other groups are going to rebuilt or establish new settlements in the ruins of pre-apocalyptic settlements

However, there are some games that I wish to play yet don't support the dev, how I minimize what they get from me is to either buy the game on Steam during a sale, which, means that 30% Steam takes is more substantial in that now the dev gets far less than the asking price, or, if possible, I buy the game through Humble, especially if it's apart of a bundle so I can control what money goes where. If it's part of bundle, the dev who sold out gets 0, the charity gets 80% and Humble gets what's left. If it's not part of a bundle, I usually make sure that the discount is removed so that the extra money goes to a charity I choose versus it possibly going to the dev. If the Bay O Pirates were something I could trust in this Era, I'd have absolutely no qualms getting a game there, but, can't say I want to risk it given the shit that's happened there as of the last decade. Edit: For me, at least, another thing I factor in is if the company in question did what Pirahana, Coffee Stain and the Shenmue 3 dev did by taking pre-order/kickstarter money and essentially stealing it from the backers by going against their promise and signing the exclusive. If they, say, signed an exclusive with Epic, but DIDN'T do that, I'll wait until it comes to Steam and buy it the day it's released as, by that token it's just like any other timed exclusive that's been a thing since consoles quit having universal cartridges. Also, forgot to clarify, I will and have waited YEARS to buy a game that went down the first route, not just for a bundle or a steam sale, but, also when I know that my purchase will not give them the ability to push a happy financial report to their publisher. Which, imo, actually damages them more than not buying it as that means I'm one of only a few sales on that report which in turn means that my purchase is directly involved with someone getting chewed out for shitty sales numbers. Either way, to each their own. When Epic crashes and burns, and it will, I'll pop open that bottle of cherry blossom mead I've been saving for something special and piss on their ashes.

Game felt promising at first but ultimately it was a waste of money. You reach a point in the game it just gets you all stuck, my current game is between going from basic starting stuff to metal and all my colonists have just stopped building altogether. They just walk around waiting to die of sickness even though there is plenty of medical tents around. All I am doing right now in my game I am about to switch off is waiting for new survivors to turn up so they can get employed somewhere for no reason but to walk around until they die of sickness, I go up to a population of 25-30 back down to 15-20 colonist and this is basically what the game is now. Oh and I get to decontaminate buildings every so often for no reason. What a crap designed game.
