I was born in 1968. Survivor was the best in 84- 85. I was a junior and senior. With Jimi Jamisons soaring voice. You would never have thought that he could sing like that. No, friend. What the world will hopefully forget is the plastic fakery that took over. Today's youth are discovering these timeless classics through youtube when they're not wasting time on the immature Tiktok. I want to remain optomistic that young artists will look to this era not just as old-school to mock for it's cheesiness. But as aspiring them to create the anthems of tomorrow that will chant away this embarrasing era of twerking, sampling, autotune, banality, and vulgarity.

Survivor were the best - it just doesn't get any better than this. I remember seeing a rock band from Scotland called Knightrider playing live in Edinburgh and I said to their singer Tam Toye "Your voice sounds like Jimi Jamison from Survivor" and the guy told me that was the finest compliment anyone could bestow. That's how well respected Survivor were. Other rock bands saw Survivor as like a benchmark, a higher level of musicianship and talent. True genius.

Agree. RIP Jimmie Jamison. He was from my hometown - Memphis. Met him once after a gig downtown when he just joined Survivor. Laid back; not pretentious like a lot of artists are. And YES, it was a great time to grow up.

This music was a throwback and an anomaly. Few bands had songs this good and they usually only had one. Survivor had a few good hits, this probably their best, my favorite of the Jimi Jamison era. If you liked this period you would have loved the 70's. The 60's were even starting to become a formula until the singer-songwriter came along in late 60's. The music and the songwriting matched in the 70's and you had the Who, Floyd, Zeppelin and hundreds of other great artists. The 80's were very much a formula. Jimi's voice was an incredible mixture of power and beauty and that music went so well with. Gone way, way too soon. This song is a fitting tribute to him.

I keep wishing Jimi Jamison was still alive. I was just a little boy back then and this was not just my childhood music it was what dreams were made of then. This song and many others by Survivor had a huge impact on me. I was always around my friends and we'd talk about the new song we heard, the videos we liked, video games, I mean there were still terrible things in the world, but people had love then still. Songs that once made me smile make my eyes fill with tears now. Gone is the innocence of those wondrous days.

No, they just don't play new music by most older artists/singer/groups on the radio. The group Find Me recently covered Survivor's song "I See You In Everyone" from the Vital Signs album on their new upcoming album. There are songs from Bob Seger's last 3 albums that I would rank among his best songs. Particularly the songs: "I Knew You When", "Gates of Eden", "Are You", and "Face the Promise", etc. Seger had a platinum album when he was 60/61 years old (Face the Promise - 2006). The co-songwriter of this song, "I Can't Hold Back", Jim Peterik, had 2 albums released this month that feature songs written/co-written by him. Jimi Jamison's previously unreleased country/southern rock album and the newest World Stage album. One of the most popular songs from the new World Stage album is "Been to the Mountain" a rock song sung by Chicago's former lead singer (for 30/31 years), Jason Scheff. Peterik is going to be working with producer Ron Nevison (who produced Vital Signs and When Seconds Count) on a new album this year.

I grew up in 60's 70's 80's this song brought back memories. I had a great singing voice and friends were bugging me to get into a group, I NEVER DID, I REGRET IT SO MUCH. I figured playing trumpet through grade school wouldn't bode too well being a lead singer. I'll never forgive myself
