At 11:11, Lou, this is one of the perfect shots of this car. Why? Because there is nothing in the background to suggest it's 2023. This shot gives up nothing, except that you're back in 1969 with a Dodge Charger. Thanks again, Lou, and to the owner as well.

Do cool Lou. My brothers 69 R/T was given to me in late 1973 and I thought I was the "king of the street" for the next two years. Tiger paws supporting the same engine, same tranny. Red in color with a black landau top. When Chris turned that beauty over my heart melted. Thanks bud. This for me was truly a treat. Have a great Memorial Day bud. 👍 🇺🇲

They are still IMO the best looking Mopars ever built. 2nd for me would be the 70-71 E bodies and 3rd the 69-71 300s, especially the 70 300 Hurst. If I were shopping for a new car during 68-71, honestly, I'd have a tough time deciding. SO many cool cars from that era. Heck even the grocery getter sedans and wagons are pretty cool, even if they weren't considered so at the time. I recall my dad saying that in 1970, he was shopping for a new car and even though he was a tried and true Mopar guy until he died in 03, he told me he had a very hard time deciding what to buy as other manufacturers had some really nice cars. It was the 1st time he had even considered buying from a different company. ( he told me this back in 92) At the time he was shopping, the brand new F cars from GM had just hit showrooms, the BOP were making huge torque numbers, Chevelles could be had with 450hp, and Fords had some of the nicest feeling 4 speeds out there ( he was a stick guy). He did end up buying an early 71 Cuda 340 only because the dealer gave a discount of $200.00 off since it was an 'oops' car. It was ordered with a 4 speed and it only had the 3 on the floor. The guy that ordered it refused it. The dealer ordered that man another 1 as spec'd. Back on point, he was actually looking at a triple black 69 Charger R/T-S/E that was still on the lot in late 70. A 4 speed car, it was loaded with every option you could get except the Hemi. P/S, P disc, Track Pack, P/W, Tic Tock Tach, light package, head rests, and 15x7 Mag 500s, not the 14s. It even had 8 track stereo tape, blower type rear defogger and dealer installed A/C. (underdash). As you might imagine, it was a very $$ car as optioned and dad couldn't swing it. Dad tried to trade in his 64 Sport Fury 383 4 speed against it, but they wouldn't take it because it had quarter panel rust. He kept the Fury until early 76 and the Cuda until late 76. I won't tell you what he bought then but let's just say "It had the fine Corinthian leather"...

68 & 69 Chargers are the best. Sure, a Camry can out perform them, but a Camry has no presence nor character. Writing from Australia where we did NOT get these Chargers, looking at an auto gear selector on the column is really weird to us. Aussie muscle cars, if they were auto’s were always bucket seats with a centre console…no if’s, no buts.
