So I've been studying animals all year and I would like to say there is a big difference between the domestication of dogs and cats. Dogs were bred and domesticated by humans, cats literally fucking domesticated themselves. Cats have been walking to people's homes and claiming them pretty much for as long as there have been cats.

i live with and care for my grandfather with dementia, he regularly tells the most horrific stories like how he once ran into someone who escaped from a nearby mental hospital and didn’t alert anyone (this actually happened as far as we are aware, but he just loves to randomly freak us out with things like that)

When it comes to taking stuff off the street, I think it comes down to what the item is. It's kind of weird to take an old sofa or a bed. Anything made of fabric really. But seemingly perfectly acceptable to take something like a chest of drawers. I got a new tv a couple of weeks back and it made the stand I had look ridiculously small. I looked online and found a couple decent ish ones. Made my way to the local Argos to get that bad boy. But at the end of the road next to mine was a glass two tier tv stand. Absolutely perfect size for my new tv. I phoned my neighbour Barry, he came and helped carry it back. I gave him a tenner and saved myself 40 quid on the stand. Result.

I once fell asleep on a plane and awoke to rapturous clapping and people with their heads between their knees. Apparently while I slept, the plane had been trying and failing to land because the runway was full of snow. Was running out of fuel so when it did land it was literally the last attempt they had at it. Even then, in that circumstance, plane clapping is weird and wrong.

I can attest to the midwest farewell. Sometimes you stay by the door for an extra half hour because someone has more to talk about and keeps everyone hostage. Ive had my laptop for nearly a decade i kid u not (since 2015) and the battery is about 4-5 hours, apart from the constant lags and the fact you need to press down really hard on the cursor to click it back to place when it lags, its pretty good!!

I remember being on a flight to Greece once. It was mostly foreigners on the plane. The landing was mostly uneventful. 80% of the people on board clapped. Then on the way back home to Holland, the landing had crazy turbulence and side winds. Plane landed at least 20 degrees sideways. No one clapped. One of the few times I ever felt proud of my country. Screw airplane clappers. Pilots just doing his job, we already paid him. 10/10 would fly home again.

With regards to the shitting yourself 5 times in a row and ruining all your holiday clothes we a similar situation. When we opened our suitcase at the hotel everything smelt terrible we had to spend the first day of holiday in our room and get our family who we were on holiday with to go and buy us some washing powder so we could wash our clothes in the sink. Luckily it was a hot and dry country so you hang stuff outside it'll be dry in 30 minutes. At this point we were trying to figure out where the smell was coming from because the smell was still in our room. It wasn't until the third day where we went out to the local town that my wife picked up her shopping bag and it really stank and we discovered there was a dead shrew in 1 of the pockets that 1 of our cats had chased in there before we went on holiday and it was moldy and full of maggots. Other than that the holiday was great though.
