I think they both did that for eachother... it was the potential "soulmate" thing... both better individually together than apart...TG and GF constantly gave us glimmers of it throughout their whole initial story...to the point where we were all clammoring for their "togetherness" .... and many of us still are!

Chesapeake Bay That's right they did, they even talked about it in a reunion show. Hence the tracking really beginning, because credit cards were not used very much in the early 80's. They are really pushing us into cashless society now, and FAST. The world we once knew will be unrecognizable by 2030. 😢😢 "1984". 😢 This is another reason why I watch sussezq channel, it takes me back to a much happier time in life and this IS Real Entertainment written to perfection. It still keeps my attention, I am still on the edge of my seat no matter how many times I watch these playlists. Luke & Laura are my solace. 💜💜

Funny that was the first thing I thought of back when it aired. I still think she should have taken half the money out of the back. She did work n it's not like she expected Scotty to half of everything they owned. He also should have not asked n married her at 17. Laura had already been thru so much trama by the time she met Scotty. I was 16 back in 1980 and my bf was 42. We were together til I left at age 22. He didn't want to let me go. He could be a jackass but he did take care of things. I worked 70hrs a week bk then plus volunteered 10hrs a week for DCF. So I was not with him for his money. I never even asked him for money. But he took care of the household bills n as a girl who had to leave home at 15 he likely saved my life at that time. I was to grown by age 11 because I had to be. But we're still lil girls inside til we hit at least 20yrs old. You can call him names all u want but I was the only girl he dated in his lifetime that was younger them him. We were both workaholics n it worked those first 7yrs.

Regarding whether or not what Luke did was rape - I would say yes it was. He held her arms so she couldn't struggle, he forced her to the ground, she said no, her shirt was ripped. I can't see it any other way. The evolution into love is part denial, part traumatic repression, as well as a forgiveness and need to forget, along with an understanding that shapes over time. The reintroduction of this storyline 20 years later with the character of Lucky learning of this event, and a trigger that makes them both remember, helps their characters to finally heal, as well as understand the traumatic experience, and gives us viewers a better insight than we might be able to glean ourselves.
