In the rider's words, the bike's simple negatives are more pronounced than its great positives. In fact, most of the aspects he mentioned are not at all negatives in the first place. Just because he wanted CBR 250R or MT15 doesn't mean he can undermine the Gixxer SF 250 and portray the bike in bad light. 1) When it comes to console features, the gear position indicator on the Gixxer is more important than FZ 25's average FE. At the end of the day, we naturally know the bike's average mileage within a few fuel fill-ups. But, when we can see the gear we are in via a gear indicator, we don't unnecessarily try to upshift forgetting the gear we are in at low speeds. Also, there's a reason Suzuki has omitted flashy features. Most of the Duke/RC's gimmicky features don't provide much value on the move and the screen is too costly to repair/replace. 2) He said just because the bike doesn't have slipper clutch, its gears are hard. But that's wrong. While hard gears are, indeed, a negative aspect of the Gixxer 250, slipper clutch doesn't influence the smoothness of the clutch operation. I am Dominar 400 owner and I don't recommend slipper clutch at least on bikes under 600 cc because it makes us forget the basic fundamental rule to apply the brakes first and then downshift. I often downshift without applying the brakes thereby heavily burning my bike's slipper clutch. 3) The long mirrors on the Gixxer is not at all a flaw. They are to give a proper view of what's behind even when wearing large riding gears. Just because he's slim doesn't mean all others will be comfortable on short mirrors. Personal preference doesn't count as a flaw. 4) Also he's expecting touring friendly wind protection on a sports bike which is again an unreasonable expectation. Wind protection on sports bikes can be achieved only by tucking flat down on the tank. If he can't bear the wind at 70 Kmph on a faired bike, why did he finalize the MT15 previously which doesn't even have a fairing. Gixxer SF 250 is the most compact 250 in the country today and the small fairing also plays its part here. How much amazing it's to enjoy a 250 on a 150's dimensions. 5) His view on cruising speed and top speed is also wrong. The Gixxer has usable power all the way till 9,300 and revs till 10,000 rpm. The thumb rule is that the cruising speed can be 85% of the bike's rev limit which means the Gixxer can effortlessly cruise at 125-130 Kmph. Also, there's a reason why Suzuki gave a short 6th gear. Firstly, its torque closes much earlier due to the SOHC layout and there won't be desirable progress on a tall 6th gear. In fact, the bike won't even complete its rev limit on such a setup. The best example is the Honda CB350 which has very poor top gear acceleration due to tall gearing. Secondly, the short 6th gear is what gives the bike amazing city rideability and in-gear roll on acceleration. Thirdly, just because the tall geared CBR and R15 crack 160 Kmph on the speedo, doesn't mean they provide exemplary performance. That top speed is only at the cost of poor low end and mediocre midrange. To start with, the CBR runs on smaller 140 section rear tyre (lower rolling resistance) against the Gixxer's 150 section unit. In addition, it also sports DOHC and liquid cooling. Yet it's the Gixxer which accelerates faster not only to the ton but all the way till 130 Kmph. In fact, the Gixxer even beats the Duke 250 is low end and midrange acceleration. 6) Comparing the Gixxer 250's vibrations against the CBR and R15 is again not fair. The R15 has a small 150 cc engine that can be easily refined while CBR has DOHC setup. Gixxer 250's vibrations should be compared the similar bikes like FZ 25, Pulsar 220, and RTR 200 4V. 7) It's fascinating when he compares the bike's luggage setup and tank with that of the Thunderbird and it's equally fascinating when he says the bike's headlight is not good at foggy conditions. Hasn't he seen the countless Dominars having too many aux fog lights despite the bike sporting the best illumination in the segment with 10-LED headlight? 8) There's a common perception that if a bike has perimeter or trellis frame and a couple of other bits, it handles better. This is the reason people say R15 and RC handle better even without testing them. Handling is determined by a lot of factors like wheelbase, rake angle, weight distribution, dimensions, suspension damping, tyre size and profile, swing arm length and play, rider and bike weight, chassis stiffness, and most importantly the rider's comfort zone. That's the reason, in MotoGP, the ergonomics are turned to the rider's preference and not according to the bike's form or functionality. It can even win or lose races. There's also a concept called segment standards. If an engine produces less power, it doesn't need too many sophistication to handle better. Just calibrating a simple chassis according to the possible shear and other load conditions is more than enough. The Gixxers, be it the 150 or the 250, handle as good as R15 or RC if not better because, right from the beginning, they were built for the streets unlike CBR 250R which is a VFR brother and Dominar which is a purpose-built tourer. In fact, the Gixxer's low end response is so good that you can build amazing corner exit speeds than the smaller bikes like R15 and RC. Finally, he said Pulsar 200 NS handles better than Gixxer SF 250. How on Earth will a bike with longer wheel base, higher fork rake, and improper weight distribution handle better? In fact, Gixxer SF runs on fatter tyres in addition to bettering the NS in all these three areas. He must ride both the bikes back to back again.

Nowadays people calling honda cbr250r as legend, but it was discontinued for poor sales figure... May be after 10 years they will miss this gixxer too.... Presently, feature loaded bikes are called as VFM......not bike quality and riding quality matters here...

If you ask me I'll tell if it's your first bike get the R15, it's an excellent beginner bike. If your interested in touring, get the sf

Light is good in pitch dark but in highways , lights brighter than this might overpower Gixxer's light . That's it . 1-2 aux lights - yellow /amber will do the job . It's the same for all bikes with led lights after bs6.
