@@arvincheech I'd say after its run in you can start to let it off the reigns a bit you'll find its got loads of torque in the high range, i kept it down on the test ride but I've heard people say how quick it is higher up the rev range. Can’t comment on the GT but I have the 2023 gsx s1000 and I love it! Best road bike I’ve ever owned (had 2 hayabusas and a Ducati v2). Almost got a duke 1290 but I hated the ergonomics and all the tech gizmos. I have no complaints about the bike other than I can’t ride it as much as I would like. Seems like the GT is a good bike but for me the naked version is golden. Ppl who say these bikes have no power-the k5 motor makes its power mid and top. It’s a beast as soon as you hit 7k rpm’s. It’s no slouch and not a newbie bike as others have stated.
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Жыл бұрын
Good to hear u are enjoying the bike Eric. On the test ride off camera I could tell higher up the rev range it was happier but still plentiful like you say mid range. One of the best bikes I've ridden in the bends too. Yes the K5 is a proven engine so why change it when its so efficient. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Eric, ride safe. Daz.

I have a couple thousand on mine - the bad, touring wind screen buffets - the panels resonate while accelerating hard - no remote rear preload etc.. the good - handles well / fun to ride gets the job done for less $$ - I tend to end up with Suzuki's because they are so competent eliable for the price point
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Жыл бұрын
Arh thanks for that Jon. Not good if the touring windscreen buffets too! Yeah I didnt give it some welly but I've seen how quick it goes on other vids. Strange there is no convenient rear manual preload? I guess every bike has its negatives, I think the lack of an IMU & more electrical bits keeps the price down & it handles as you say really well. Can I ask, do you think its suited to long distance touring? Daz
@jonpeters5194 Жыл бұрын
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Yes for me it's suited for long trips but I'm coming off GSXR's. I road it 800 miles in 1 day all highway no problems( 55 yrs old). The nice thing is that you have a fun bike to ride around on when you get "there". The bags work well and provide a good platform to strap more on top. The touring screen would work for short torso' d riders likely
@blandrooker6541 Жыл бұрын
I bought the touring screen (7cm taller) from Suzuki USA and found that it does well for me at 6'2" tall. However, I did add a Puig visor on top of that, and finally tuned it to deflect air over my helmet and still allow airflow through the helmet vents, which will be important in a few months, it's still winter here in Colorado. At highway speeds (85 to 95 MPH) and well above, the windscreen does well and I have no buffeting. As for the panels, I'm assuming you mean body panels, I couldn't tell if they're humming as I'm going too fast to hear anything besides the motor and the wind 😋 What a sound the motor makes when cranked up!
@jonpeters5194 Жыл бұрын
@@blandrooker6541 yes body panels, they buzz a bit - That's a good idea on the touring screen. My real objection is it deflects air to the top half of my helmet and it is loud. I'd rather have the blast in the chest and less wind noise in my ear. I'll try they visor idea, I just need a couple more inches to clear my helmet.
@888jackflash Жыл бұрын
Wind- buffeting: My FJR1300 was TERRIBLE for that, roaring-loud...until I stuck some of those triangular plastic "vector" vanes under the outer edges of the screen, on the black fairing. Reduced the roar by 50%!

I've bought one in the new cherry red for 2024. I came from the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx. The Suzuki is more of what I would call a riders bike, less intrusive add-ons and it's just such a good ride.

To the bad things I would put not having a ajustable windscreen and not having an external preload adjuster. On my own bike I use those items quite often, and I would miss them if they where not available. But a good looking bike that have a lot going for it, If you don´t need the things on the "bad list" and wants a sportstourer, go ride it. You don´t hear a lot of bad things from users or reviewers,
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Жыл бұрын
Yeah for the touring element & that wind I was getting riding the bike an adjustable screen should be standard. Yes definitely external preload adjuster good point. I didn't dwell on the fact just how quick it was! It was still running in so didn't want to push it to much out of respect for the dealer but it was very fast especially with the quick shifter. Given the choice, for long distance touring I'd stick to my GS though. Thanks for your insight Anders, safe riding, Daz.

Thought this bike would be a more sensible touring machine to replace my MT10. Sat on it at the NEC show and that seat just isn't for me. Narrows too much like so many bikes to allow shorter riders to flat foot. At least Suzuki offer a reasonably decent price point, so many sport touring adventure bikes heading towards 20K!
@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'd tend to agree with the seating element, although it was comfortable for the few hours I rode it, but beyond that I couldn't comment. Does anybody reading have any long distance tales to share on this question? It was nice to flat foot for a change instilling confidence riding the bike. I do feel despite being named a 'Grand Tourer' with the emphasis of being sporting too, it is potentially more a sports bike. I think to lean more to a Grand Tourer it should have a heated seat option too, a top box & a standard adjustable front screen to mention a few. Yes the price point seems reasonable for what you are getting although as ever the additional extra's bump it up. Thanks for your comment Banditmanuk, ride safe now. Daz.
@Banditmanuk Жыл бұрын
@Dazmatron Motorcycle Trips Finding the right bike is difficult. Always a compromise between seat comfort, peg height/knee comfort and not being on tiptoe risking dropping the bike on slow maneuver. Its why I still ride my MT10 on tour after 7 years. Thirsty, range compromised but sporty and comfortable.

I have a 2022 GSX-S750(nice bike), and a 2023 GSX-S1000 GT Plus(Great bike). I find myself on the GT more than the 750. there is NOTHING wrong with the 750 but the power difference of the GT is awesome. everything the 750 should have is on the GT. the GT is NOT without some flaws, but it is a great bike. the 750 is also a good bike but it needs a lot of improvements.

Totally agree once you get it out on the twisties & an open road if comes into its own, great power, torque & handling.
