Cat makes a great machine, I worked for cat fof years and I started working for them at age 16, they paid for all of my college and I got my degree in mechanized Agricultural! Me personally I feel like the older machines are better but the new dozers are top notch

Hey Marty great videos could u help me by any chance, I have the lt 50 in my jr 50 frame and would like to just make the starter lever the starter lever and delete back break from lever so it just foot break on the rear, would I be able to just get a normal break cable and have it go to recoil instead of having it split to the rear breaks

Yea the metal plate must be too close and rubbing on the metal wheel connected to the crank, you may need to bend it into a curve

I’ve gone threw two lever assy on two pull starts do I need to bend it before installing or something please help me it’s annoying now ? Or could I start without the lever assy

You can bend it so it catches without the brake but you need to disconnect the cable otherwise it will rub when you pull the brake

Hello Marty, thank you for your videos. Our son has 2004 LT-A50. Your videos have been most helpful. We bought it used and it appears that the starter has been an ongoing issue for this bike. The 'Lever' that engages the 'Rachet' into the 'Starter Cup' is broken. Ordered a replacement starter but it will take some time to arrive here in NB, Canada. My question for you is, while we await the replacement starter, is there a way we can fix the Rachet in place (with super glue or otherwise) so that it's always engaged on a Starter Cup tooth. Does the Starter Cup spin while the bike is running?

Yes unfortunately the cup spins with the engine so that wouldn't work I'm afraid,

It would just rub the cup as it spins tbh the engine would be fine

I have a prob with my quad. The brass part with the teeth is stuck. It was fine but after trying to fit a new pull start it won't turn?

Thats unusual as you are turning the Crank shaft, i would remove the casing behind to check nothing has fell behind.
