Haf mine for 2 weeks and already nearly 800 miles in. It is the most comfortable bike i have ever owned. The torque is well placed, if i had one complaint its only that the screen is just a tiny bit small for me but nothing that an aftermarket will not fix 👍🏻

Nice review Chops. Seems like a really decent machine. Transalp's a handsome beast but definitely more road focused & possibly more fun while the Suzuki's is maybe a better off-roader / all-rounder? Either way looks like your upcoming & seemingly very entertaining comparison will answer that very question. Looking forward to it!

Hi! Thanks for your videos! I also experienced a vibration, at ca 5000 rpm, when testing the bike. It was a tingling in my feet from the foot pegs and it was actually so much vibration that it’s a showstopper for me. It was very noticeable vibrations. Very unfortunate, because IMO the bike was otherwise great and also great looking bike, to boot.

If you want to play with an enduro / off road bike I recommend Salisbury Plain, some decent roads to get to it, the plain itself is lots of fun and not too far away, long big open gravel roads, small twisty technical and everything in between. Open to all road legal motorcycles too...gets a big boggy off the main drags in winter but that's part of the fun for some...The main gravel roads are compact and ideal for beginners to experience some off road without it turning into a green lane from hell lol... Also check out the TET (Trans Euro Trial) loads of off road routes...

It reminds me of the BMW F800GS. I like it but I like to get a bit crazy off-road and at 500+ pounds it’s just too heavy. Can no company make a twin cylinder bike with good suspension and ground clearance that weighs in under 400lbs? Now that could be my unicorn

Nice little review thanks 🙂 At 6'2" if you bought one - would you go for the standard seat height or the higher one? Any comments on the engine vibrations at 5k motorway speeds? (oh, 5k is rpm & not 5kmph or even 5000kmph) Another reviewer has said you need to wrestle it over into fast corners, do you find this? Thanks.

Coming from a Tiger 800 XCA and currently from a Tiger 900 Rally Pro and being a devoted triple fan I took a demo 800DE for a spin. Let alone some weak points like windshield and downshift quality, I am absolutely impressed. As for me, this easily could make 'final bike' for the rest of my life. Especially, the engine and the handling truly rock. My only gripe is the price, I am not sure is it worth 'downgrading' from a Tiger to the same spec (base model + panniers, protection etc.)

It might be worthwhile finding some more difficult off-road sections. An old sv650 can do creek crossings and rock steps (high clearance tracks) on Bridgestone s22 tyres. I'd like to see you really see what can be done, particularly with the bigger front and far better suspension.

An adventure bike is something I think you should consider adding to your garage or another manufacturer. Although I'm not sure you should sell the H2 to do so. The H2 is so awesome, but it's the nagging mind farts that stop you from enjoying it because it's very valuable. You could sell the GSX-R1000 and the Kawasaki ZXR 750 and keep the H2 as your sports bike and then buy a cruiser or an adventure bike giving you some flexibility and variety of different types of bike. But that H2 is nice... It really is an awesome piece of kit.

@@LambChopRides To be honest, quoting wet or dry weight is really disingenuous by manufactures. Dry weight often doesn't include oil and brake fluid, never mind fuel. You can't ride a bike without oil and brake fluid. Quoting wet weight just penalises big fuel tanks - and have you noticed how fuel tanks are getting smaller? They should all quote zero fuel weight, then that's a level playing field and you really know how much your bike weighs with or without fuel.

Chops, why do you feel the need to wear a peaked helmet everytime you ride a adventure bike 😅😅🤦🤦 I've never been a fan of such lids, you definitely don't need a peaked lid to ride these bikes 😅😅

If you even slightly, bothered to try to understand that, ALL you've shown in this clip - would be - with SAME success an ease, done on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, or a BMW G3210GS, or Honda CB500X, or ANY OTHER bike - maybe you wouldn't call this ( USELESS, HALF BAKED bike ) - KING Of The Middleweight Adventure.... just Maybe ..... So - get another ( any ) bike, ride that, same route, and make an HONEST clip - if those are worse, than THIS "KING Of The Middleweight Adventure" !

How is this the KING of middleweight adventure when Triumph Tiger 900 is better than the DE since 2019 in absolutely every category ?

The 800 DE is brand new for 2023, needs to be compared directly to the Tiger 900 to decide which is best offroad

@@LambChopRides so without any direct comparison DE is named King. Professional. But still looking at some sheet aspects ... Triumph has 10 CP and Nm more, better suspension, better wheels (are tubless) better wind protection and DE has 10 kg. more. I love Suzuki, but their best bike is DR 650 SE.

@@Motosadik go and watch other reviews. apparently the rake is less steep on this and the wheel base is longer on this, which gives it stability and feels less top heavy than the tiger. big rock moto allready did a long review in some knarlier stuff. and those where his comments and he has owned ktm 890 rallies for comparison as well. 10hp and nm dont make or brake a bike but it depends what you want to do with it. i will probably never hit the knarly stuff so the transalp is peaking more of my interest

I’d still take the 1050, in yellow. A full exhaust and a remap is mandatory though, just to remove the restrictions and improve the throttle response. In fact, it should be an MOT requirement 😂
