എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ പള്ളിക്കരക്ക് അടുത്ത് പഴന്തോട്ടം എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ പുരാതനമായ സ്വർണ്ണത്ത് മന അഥവാ പുന്നോർക്കോട്ട് മന എന്ന ബ്രാഹ്മണകുടംബത്തിന് ഏറെ സവിശേഷതകളുണ്ട്. കേരളവാസ്ത്തു വിദ്യയുടെ മകുടോദാഹരണമാണ് ഈ മന. ഏകദേശം പന്ത്രണ്ട് ഏക്കറോളം വരുന്ന പുരയിടത്തിലാണ് ഈ മന സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അതിൽ പതിനൊന്ന് ഏക്കറും ഉദാത്ത പരിസ്ഥിതി സംരക്ഷണത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായി വൻ മരങ്ങളുള്ള കാട് പോലെയാണ്. ആദിശങ്കരന്റെ ജീവിതവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ഒരു ഐതിഹ്യം ഈ മനക്ക് പറയുവാനുണ്ട്.
