Swarmed rooms meet Persephone - Run#51 - Light Commentary | Hades 2 Early Access

You thought we would just give up after last run? Wrong. Losing does nothing but make us stronger. The issue was the swarmed rooms and our tendency to pick shiny boons. To be honest, there's not much we can do about the latter issue, but we'll try to develop some plan (anything) for that monster house. The answer to that, we'll take the Aspect of Persephone.
The Aspect of Persephone is becoming my favorite of the skulls, only because y'all tell me it's the weakest or not highly respected. To that, I say, how unlawful of a take that is! We'll consider the Glory impervious effect to survive the swarmed rooms, and eventually clear the room with more health than what other aspects could give us.

The most widely known one is probably the "Perseus with the head of Medusa” that Benvenuto Cellini made 1:13:15 Rosy-fingered Dawn, as the description says, it’s an actual Homeric epithet! Fun fact about homeric epithets that breaks my heart a little every time: One of Patroclus’ canon epithets in the Iliad is "gentle" (ενηείης). Gentle Patroclus. Who’s cutting ghost onions?

LOL how's the weather Apollo? Aww, you like the hearts? I can keep the hearts then. aaand you get a heart! Very interesting statue! Children clinging while she looks up in prayer is the most notable for me. We are just waiting for Rhea confirmation! Apollo got me pretty good with that lmao. Oooh yes thank you, I must've gotten it confused with Athena wielding the head in battle at one point or the shield with the gorgon's head.

@@Hamstir4 I hate being pedantic when people mean well, so I'll trade you one correction for a free fact: -> Correction: It's still Perseus to use that in battle (Against a sea monster, to rescue the princess Andromeda), but yes it is Athena that put it in her Aegis -> free fun fact: The head of Medusa was used as a symbol of protection for women!

@@disastrouslylargeicedmocha I recall the sea monster feat! That shield would be very broken to wield ^ Ooo, that’s interesting. Medusa as a symbol of protection puts a different spin on the meaning behind her curse no? And you may be as pedantic as you’d like, I’ll take your facts of the day. :)

@@Hamstir4 Well, as a shield, it didn't petrify the opponents. Or. Well. It did petrify them in fear? Just not in actuality. But the funniest thing about the Aegis is that well, basically, the aspect of Zeus is canon! In a way. The Aegis is always popularly regarded as Athena's shield, but "Aegis-holding" (αίγί-οχος) is an actual homeric epithet of Zeus. I wonder how they went about choosing which of the other Big Six got an aspect on the other weapons.....

@@disastrouslylargeicedmocha I was gonna say the petrification should have the same end result, delivering the killing blow while they're in fear, but the difference between stone petrification and fear is night and day. Right, the Zeus Aspect had a strikingly similar design! Choosing the alternative aspects sounded like a fun deep dive from the writers. I also enjoyed the crossover from the other mythologies, but that's a whole nother fan service.

(I get it's because of your Chaos bane, but still) 56:50 Yeah, going off of this room, I think a room full of hourglasses is worse than a room full of bags (which is a really weird sentence out of context) 1:01:36 Ooh, Apollo's infusion will heal you even if your armor took all the damage. 1:10:00 Again, why are the statues so buff? 1:15:40 Huh, given what Hecate said after the incantation, and the words of the incantation itself, it seems like the wards that protect the Crossroads are powered by Shades, similar to the barrier in Ephyra (albeit on a more voluntary basis for the shades)

I see, if that's the case, I'll say there's Magick and Selene added into the major finds. I don't consider them that bad, but depending what you're looking for, they would be considered more junk into the list. LOL nah, I paused myself thanking that I actually read it before mindlessly taking it. I do think the hourglass room is worse, especially when they start letting loose aimlessly. and it's even weird with context ^ Ooo, that's quite the cheat for Apollo Infusion! Apollo and Hephaestus huh? An interesting combo. lmao, besides Meli being unrealistically buff. I think there's two layers to this joke, 1) Nem and Hades call Meli scrawny, with Hades makes fun of her appearance before learning who she was. and 2) Zag likely expected his own statues to appear like this, but didn't get it. We see Meli ends up getting the statues how Zag would've wanted. So likely, it's a callback to Schele finally getting it right after Zag complained about the first batches. mmmm!! that's a sweet connection to the mechanisms in Ephyra!

WTF Apollo, what's with the casual racism against Titans? Yeah, one of them is trying to destroy your home, but another is also trying her damnest to save it. Hell, you wouldn't even be alive if Rhea hadn't betrayed Chronos, and she's a titan too. Apollo what the hell man, you used to be cool! So Demeter put all that Wheat in the Mourning Fields? Demeter, honey, I know Wheat makes you feel better, but I'm 99% sure that most of the people in the Mourning Fields do not share that sentiment lol. My thoughts on rerolls is that they make the game more fun by offering more choice. Unless you are asking about your specific rerolls, to which I agree. Posiedon doesn't seem a good fit for this particular run when you got him both in Errebus and Oceanus. YOOOOOOOO! 32 FEAR AIN'T GOT NOTHING ON YOU! LETS GOOOOOO! 1 God Challenge with a Focus on one of my Favorites. LETS GO! DEATH TO CHRONOS!

Rhea is also a good point!! Does she just not exist in this Hades verse perhaps? Doubt it. Oh rerolls are definitely great for the game, as you said, its for more choices and control for your runs ^ I just felt my rerolls have been sad lately haha, unless!!! I've yet to try Artificer, but sounds bad if I reroll a minor find, and that "chance" doesn't come. Yay, 32 Fear achieve! Woot woot! Aww, Hestia's also your fav? Time to do 1 God only! Death to Chronos!

I have HEARD (dunno if it's true) that using a Pom on a boon affected by the Vow of Arrogance will undo the priming. Might be worth trying, though I would assume this is a bug if it's the case and will probably be removed at some point.

LOL that does sound like a bug. Huh, so you'd be pomming the higher rarity boons, I might've done that before and perhaps it did cause a fluctuation on the prime ^

@@dylanpyle6500 Oh sure amigo. So each god have a special boon called Infusions. Example, Aphrodite's infusions gives you 15% dodge chance (if you have 4 air elements). Each boon has an element categorized, such as Hestia's boon being fire elementals. But there are gods that have overlap, such as Demeter having some water and earth elementals. Far as I know, all Infusions require the minimum element to even appear as a boon. You won't see Hestia's Infusion, Slow Cooker until you have the minimum 2 fire elementals. and I believe Hestia's case would activate as soon as you grab it. But most other Infusions require more elements to even activate. Same example, Aphrodite's Infusion would require 4 air elements to activate. As for this video, since Chaos gave me many infusions of each, I expected to encounter multiple Infusions but only found Apollo's, which we did take ^
