How did the measurements for the TOB go? Did you end up having to shim it, or did you get lucky?

I realized after I never shared that! I measured about .500” of preload. Research said not to have more than an inch but I’m still a little nervous until it’s bled and hopefully doesn’t pop the slave. Best case it has a low pedal engagement

Also the flywheel from @exedyusa says it's for 96-17 ford V8 with 8 bolt crank and the clutch is for the TR3650, so it should all work! I hope!

Looks like it should work. The reason why I ask is I’ve already popped two TOB doing a clutch jobs on my S197. I wasn’t sure if it was the spacing, faulty TOBs, or poor bleeding. One tip - get a vacuum bleeder and bleed the clutch line from the master cylinder. I didn’t that and the last TOB didn’t pop.

@@ryanbyrne3459 right on! I have one and will try that. So you just hooked up the vacuum bleeder to the clutch line on the master end, yeah?

@@MattSoppa correct - right to the clutch line off the master cylinder and pump all the air bubbles out. I bench bled the TOB as well and pumped the pedal but there was still a lot of air in the line

4 wheel dolleys and 4x4s are also a life saver for dropping subframe and engine combo.

You didn't have any problem getting the subframe bolts back in? I sure did. ended up cutting off some of the non-threaded portion because they wouldn't thread all the way in. It was like something had moved up inside the frame that i couldn't see. I was just using hand tools and was afraid i'd break the damn bolt off in the frame.

I only had one fight me because I think the thread got mucked up a little. Other than that right in no bubble no troubles
