Apparently, Dimash himself prefers to call it neo-classical, so I’ve heard!
@paivyt.3 жыл бұрын
I don't like "popera", sounds ridiculous and it's too narrow term - there are more genres than only pop involved (also rock in this song, but other songs may have folk, r&b, jazz, even metal techniques). Dimash calls it neoclassical. Also the term crossover is good, it tells the main thing.

Dimash's wide variety of genres and his talent at performing as well as singing has become pretty much all I need in my musical life these days. Nice first reaction! Dimash has been singing since the age of 5 and is classically trained. He can’t be called an opera singer as he sings ALL genres of music. He released a new video yesterday which was a mixture of pop, R&B, opera and rap. Yes rap!! He’s the best singer on the planet with so many other talents and I’m sure these will be listed via the other comments!🤣😍♥️ More Dimash reactions please! 🙏
@Aurora-cv5to3 жыл бұрын
Your ears didn't fool you, yes, he's classically trained and used that for much of this song.... but not all. He's cross-over, and uses different techniques - from classical to pop to blues and jazz - within each song he does. He wants each note to sound right in that moment, without paying attention to what is "appropriate" according to genre. That's technically very difficult to do. SOS was originally from a musical, and is considered one of the 5 hardest French songs to sing. You've seen serious/depressed Dimash - now watch Opera 2 (which isn't Opera) and see playful Dimash.... then Sinful Passion to see a passionate Dimash. He not only has the best voice and technique I've ever heard - but he's an incredibly skilled performer. This vid was from 2018 or 19, so he would have been 23 or 24. He's now 26, and he just gets better every month. Welcome to the floating Dimash party.... fans will flood in when they discover you. Yesterday he released a Michael Jackson-ish pop video called "Be With Me" that's rocked everyone back on their heels and that's mostly what everyone is watching.... because it's another version of Dimash that no one has heard before. Bad boy Dimash. Not his best musically - but an addictive song and compelling video. Stunning. And he raps. Save it a little while, watch some of the others first, but then get back to it. You won't regret any of your time listening to Dimash. But mostly - have fun and enjoy yourself.

He sings in 12 languages including lots of songs in English. He’s a multi instrumentalist (7). He has 2 degrees in Opera and Contemporary Singing. A Masters degree in Composition with a perfect score. He’s currently studying for his Doctorate in Musicology. He’s classically trained since the age of 5. His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan, his Mom sings opera and his dad is a pop singer/music producer. He has a 6 1/2 octave range. His Baritone voice is as amazing as his soprano voice!

Greetings to the owner and guests of this channel…! ARTIST FACTS: DIMASH KUDAIBERGEN is a Kazakh singer, songwriter, & multi-instrumentalist. Born in Aktobe Kazakhstan, Central Asia: May 24, 1994. He was trained in classical & contemporary music, and is well known for his exceptional widest vocal range. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it, to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning and imitating. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living out our day to day life. His hard work for years is indeed bearing good fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a public listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the good content and message of its music. The fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said Ooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..? Etc, I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and be surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. I believed that Dimash 21 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proved it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible. My other concern whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..? Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it. With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me. I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) SONG FACTS: The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. The song has sad lyrics: “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute. MY THOUGHTS AND OPINION OF THIS SONG (REF CCC): Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow over time in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God. Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth”. Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives. Death creates in us a feelings of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. Death is such a peaceful, joyful event in our life, if we die reconciled with God and at peace with others as well. Death is unknown to all of us, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times. So you will hear operatic techniques and elements and a lot of his songs. He also has performed pop, hip hop, rap, opera, classic and dance style music among others. Well, Sweeny you have just heard the best singer in the world, galaxy, Universe or any place left. His vocal range is 6 to 7 octaves, covers the entire piano keyboard; but he does it with almost no effort for him. He is someone most people have never heard the like of, so they call him an angel, or an alien. He is one seriously talented young man. He is singer, composer, dancer, multi-instrumentalist, fashion Mag. model, actor, can do anything he wishes and excels at it. He creates the best Music Videos I have ever seen. Most recent video is like watching MJ, Jackie Chan and James Bond together and shows his acting skill. How one person can do all this and more, just "freaks" out by brain. Most of us fans just watch with jaw slack and open in awe. Every song is different and he mixes all genres of music together as he sees fit and makes it all sound great. He is a legend already and becoming more famous , has had many sell-out concerts around the world.

Happy you have discovered my favorite singer EVER! I found him 3 yrs ago and haven't missed one day of listening to him sing. That would be like a day without sunshine! He sings so many different genres that I don't understand when people say they "don't like his type of music". I can only guess that they've judged all his music by one or two songs. About the only genre I haven't heard him sing, that I can think of, is country! He just released a mv that was inspired by MJ, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones. It's called Be With Me and is entirely different from what you just watched and heard. And then there are many, MANY performances between those two extremes. I've subscribed because I always enjoy new reactors discovering Dimash. P.S. Always watch to the end. Not only aren't songs always over when you think they are (he oftentimes takes big pauses near the end) but a lot of times he speaks to the audience and the musicians. He's very thankful for all those who support him. Greetings from a Las Vegas Dear!

It's not an opera, it is a french song from 1978, but Dimash is a classically trained singer and he uses all his facettes

Once you start listening Dimash you will be on a journey of amazement and magnificence. From Opera to classical crossover to traditional to pop and contemporary rap. It's all fusion ala the Dimash treatment. And when you get to know him (as a person via interviews etc) it is just the icing on this phenomenal cake. Great reaction and kudos to your excellent ear for music greatness despite the genre.
