Hey Dan, Needed a recipe just like this! I don't partake in high fructose corn syrup for a number of reasons and, typically, any store bought s & s is laden with this poison. Planning a homemade Chinese for one of this weeks dinners and now I can "dip" my eggroll again. Thanks! ~kendra

what is your recommendation for letting it cool and then reheating it for left overs, or should that be avoided? also saw your egg-cheese-toast video and tried it and loved it, so i have subbed :)

I just tried it, and it's great! One catch with the type of starch I used, "wheat starch": "Epifin" by Dr. Oetker (Weizenstärke / Amidon de Froment): Using the amount as specified in the recipe produces chewing gum instead of sauce. xD I had to thin it down with quite a bit of water. So, if anyone uses that starch, perhaps a smaller amount might be in order.

just pour it into a clean container you plan to store it in, then leave on counter until room temperature then refrigerate. i don't see any problems reheating.

if you can't get sesame oil, you would be better just to leave it out. It is used for flavour and colour mainly. Regular might work, but olive oil would change both the taste and the colour and not for the better either. It will still come out but will not have that "take-away" colour or taste without the sesame oil.
