I recently got the Fender Steve Harris Signature Precision Bass. Being a build in June 2023 and bought in October 2023, it's taking some time to fully acclimate and be consistently playable. So for now, it spends more time in the case than on the stand. This has become my go-to for most of my playing, as the tone has that extra mid-range that is missing on my other ones. (Maybe time to upgrade pickups? )

So this is kind of cool. The guitar that's called Her Majesty's Request was his wife's idea. His wife's name is Rena, which is very close to Reina...which is Spanish for Queen!

Gonna miss Mangini. Best I ever heard DT - no disrespect to Portnoy.

I agree with you. Mangini was perfect for them. I’m actually sad that he’s gone to a point where I may not even buy their new album. Portnoy is no Mangini. Sorry Portnoy fans, but it’s true.

@midnightexpress726 - Man, I really appreciate you saying that. Like Neil Peart, Mangini absolutely nailed the structural framework of the songs, but all of the subdivisions within, to the most intricate detail. Flawlessly. It takes a different kind of ear to really understand just how incredible his physical dexterity is, and how creative mind works.

I hadn't been to a NAMM show since the late 80s. LA and Anaheim California. It was huge and a lot of entertainment and everyone was so nice. I used to be in the music biz but now I am retired. I couldn't get a free or business ticket. I pulled the trigger and paid $150.00 worth every penny. Opening day Thursday was a mad house for parking. Also Long badge lines to get in but they moved pretty well. Friday was spectacular not crowded. I guess people came Thursday to claim their badges. I just wish the booths didn't cost so much for the venders. You guys have to work on that. Fender, Gibson, Taylor guitars were not there. Taylor had privet meeting room but I guess they don't really need to spend $150,000.00. They are doing well..

I love you John, but Mike Portnoy won’t bring back LaBrie’s voice. DT need a new singer.
