I used to be a huge fan of hers back in the day when she was making videos in her room in Canada. She had way more humility and in my opinion was genuinely funny. And it’s not like I didn’t want her career to excel either. KZbin channels grow and that’s great. But after she moved to LA and her videos started to become overproduced and started to turn into what I like to call cookie cutter LA KZbinr, I was out. She had lost that charm about her, and now she’s just obnoxiously cocky. The reason Lily got famous was because she put pretty good content out at first. And now all she does is go on about how rich and famous and it’s amazing that she can do that while being a bisexual woman of color. Too bad she can’t be a funny bisexual woman of color. 🙄

Honestly, a part of me still thinks she could do a great job at it, if she took the time out to learn how to be a tv show host. Maybe have a senior mentor to guide her, listen to people OUTSIDE her employees for advice, etc. but if she keeps on labeling the advice she gets as ‘words from angry virgins’ I don’t think she is going to get very far.

It's not a fucking personality trait to fall for a different pair of chromosomes lmao. "The main people I hear complaining about this are homophobes", well don't you just love labeling people? What an easy win, someone doesn't agree with you so they must be a homophobe and their points must be completely invalid! The exact reason why I am against making sexuality a personality trait, is because I am not a homophobe and I think it is not helping people to build your character around it? Wanna normalize it? Then don't make it such a big deal.

Mistakingly said Jimmy Kimmel was on the same network as a Little Late, NBC but he is actually on ABC. However i did see people wearing the Jimmy Kimmel crew shirts working my first taping. Someone tried to have my video taken down for a privacy violation a few days ago. Multiple claims were made, all must have been denied however because the 48hr review time has passed and the video is still up. No one from the show or anyone in this video has contacted me.y guess is that its one of Lilly’s stan accounts on twitter as a few of them tried to call me out on twitter the same day the claims were made.

Lilly just isn’t funny. She’s basically a one-trick pony. There is a clear lack of creativity. She’s delusional. And sorry, but she has zero charisma (just being loud, obnoxious, rude, etc, is not charisma). No idea how she got big, but anyone can get big through luck, KZbin algorithm, etc. To STAY big, you need to have something to offer. I don’t like the show at all. I don’t like Lilly as a host, and her ego needs to be checked majorly. But you don’t understand how this production process works... NBC - to save money - banked TONS of episodes for the year, over the course of a few months. This makes it INCREDIBLY hard to make a show like this work. You can’t be topical. You can’t learn what to fix and adjust (think Conan’ first season of Late Night, it was rough, he got better and better). It’s also why the show was wrapping up and giving seats away, etc - BUT you are 100% correct on her lack of growth. Even three months In, she should be adjusting to make the show a success to a broader audience - or quit

She's a bad interviewer because she's so daggum self absorbed. She genuinely doesn't care about other people's lives or careers. "I wrote a book, you've written a LOT of books but I've written a book..." Imagine you get invited on a show to talk about yourself and maybe a book you're releasing. And the interviewer starts talking about herself. An interview just isn't the place to say I've written a book. The best way of including this stuff was the dude soup podcast where a woman was talking a bit about her second book and all the interviewer said "I'd really love to write one but I just can't get it done" and then let the person getting interviewed talk about how she writes her books and how she does these things and gets inspired. That's how you include yourself in an interview. Not just say "i do things too"

This whole Lilly thing just makes me think about how Disney quit trying to work with Pewdiepie after the N word controversy. Felix was basically willing to work with Disney, plus other companies at the time and those opportunities shut down after his slip up. While that may have seemed like a loss at the time, and was certainly an earned consequence he has mentioned that in hindsight hes glad those things fell through. Hes a KZbinR, he got popular with HIS format with HIS personality. Disney would have entirely scrubbed that identity squeaky clean and whatever would have remained may have ruined Pewdiepie once and for all or at the very least impacted his career more heavily than even his controversy did. Its possible for a youtuber to succeed in the TV format, and i think Lilly wants to prove that. For her ego or to make a point, idk. But the fact of the matter is that a youtuber sits in their room and spends hours alone focusing on very personal work. A TV star has to improvise, work a crowd, obey direction etc etc. Its a different animal. Also, her main audience is children, WHY a late night show?! This thing was cursed from the begining.

I honestly feel like she'd have been better with a more informative talk show along the lines of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee or Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. Her kind of humor would work a *lot* better if she had a more educational take rather than what she's doing now which is, "Look! Your favorite actor is here! Time to lead them in boring conversation that stretches into an unnecessary game segment and the audience is going to scream as though they just met God!!"
@Tee2564 жыл бұрын
I agree. Look, obviously the show wasn't successful and yes there are points in which the comedy is a little cringe ( that's comedy ) BUT this is her first attempt in this space at a network with a team of writers; making TV is hard but especially when you're trying to be a disrupter. What do we expect?! She clearly tried to integrate her story (i.e being a bi, woman of color) into her show and her team wasn't able to convey that message successfully / they didn't even fully get comfortable enough to grow into that space. Who knows where this show could of gone if she didn't get cancelled. But her "failures" aren't that different from her male counterparts the only difference is shes being dragged for having failed at her first attempt.
