SWFL Eagles_ E23 In A "Brown Suit" ~Big Wings ~Standing Tall, All 3 For Breakfast 02.13.24

E23 is 44 days old today. He/she appears so 'grown up' now. In just a week's time (since my last visit), E23 has grown their gray feathers into a beautiful brown and is now hopping/lifting their legs as they wingercize. F23 remained in the pasture area after M15 flew south before sunrise. She watched over E23 and the territory, watching from the front drive snag tree. She added a stick to the nest and flew across the road and back to 'remind' the neighbor eagles perching on the cell tower that she was alert to activity in the area. When she flew north later, she spied M15 and followed him back with roadkill/carrion for E23's breakfast. The pasture horses were seen grazing and a Red-headed Woodpecker was seen foraging in the church snag.

So glad to hear from you! Boy, E23 looks so scary from the side! SHE's (her supraorbital ridges (browbone) are showing!!), just so big, esp wings. Either she has a pointy head lol, or slept wrong, or new feathers, or all 3. Needs a trip to the pond to style the new do out. I just noticed that she resembles M in her head & long beak, at least to me. Love seeing their morning routine. How quickly they get to work, teamwork. Always looking for a food opportunity, while monitoring the territory. Eagle life, and they are very, very good at it. Stuffing their wonderful precocious chick all day. I couldn't have imagined this wonderful season in a million years. Not gonna jinx it, but yahoooo and a SuperChick, too! 💚 🦅🦅🦅
