I definitely want to try this hat. It’s so beautiful and you make it seem like a fun project. I have a question about the last step when you roll it up to make a cuff, can that be sewn in so that it doesn’t roll back down? It seems like it could easily unroll.
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
It doesn't easily unroll but you can sure make a few stitches to hold it in place if you wish.

thank you very much dear, can yo help please what means 18 ridges and when ı put them together wich side is look,ng to me the rhight or the left side. thank you
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
Every 6 rows is a ridge. When you put them together, you are working on the right side of your work. Wrong sides together. Please watch the sewing part on the video.

So pretty! Thanks for sharing this lovely pattern! As far as I’m concerned the longer the better! Most hats pop off of my head so I rarely make them for myself. What type of yarn would you suggest? What weight, etc? Your work is beautiful!💕
@JoannesWeb5 жыл бұрын
#4 Worsted yarn. #8needles. Please click on "SHOW MORE" below the video.

What would you recommend is I was willing to use size 6 yarn (bulky), should I cut the number of cast on stitches and go down a needle size?

You are probably not holding your yarn in the same way. I'll post a video for you to see. I will be making a new video on it. This is a little too old. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIDTfIKveN9phLc

Well, I tried this hat and unfortunately it didn’t work. I knitted for over two weeks, following your directions and watching the video several times. The knitting came out nice, but when I came to the point of unraveling the provisional cast on, I thought it would be easy (you make it look so easy). That part was a disaster. It didn’t work at all. So, I ripped the whole thing out. What I should have done was to see if I could do it with a small sample. If anyone else is trying this, first practice on a small piece. Maybe I’ll try this again in a few months.
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness. You probably didn't pick up the "bumps" in the back of the crochet chain. Yes, do try with a smaller sample.

JoannesWeb Okay 😢😢
@theastewart67215 жыл бұрын
Susan Elizabeth Great advice! I always make a swatch or sample if I haven’t done something before. I have done a provisional cast on in a few different ways thanks to my wonderful teacher. But I wholeheartedly agree. Sorry you had to rip it out. I guess that’s how we learn, right?

Very beautiful! What is the consumption of yarn?
@JoannesWeb7 жыл бұрын
1 and 1/2 of Vanna's Choice yarn, from Lion Brand. Each has 170 yards, so you can buy any other yarn and make it with around 255 yards of #4 Worsted Yarn.
