I've got a, personal fan theory / myth with absolutely no evidence to back it up. When I was a child I had a friend who often lied, and he claimed to have an email address to send ideas and suggestions to Club Penguin Developers. I didn't believe him but his mother confirmed it and gave me the address. So I wrote an email (using an email address that no longer exists) with a few ideas, and actually got a response. One of the suggestions I had made was for a storage room or warehouse filled with cardboard boxes and all of the party supplies from past events. Like little Easter Eggs - because that stuff would have to go somewhere after the party, right? I'd say probably within a year of sending that email, the Box Dimension was created - enterable through a portal in a box, filled with cardboard boxes. After a Plant Party, it was filled with plants. I was so excited as a kid that my suggestion wound up making it into the game, even if it was modified slightly.
@KeWDu

Not that I want to burst your bubble about the special email or anything but I had sent a good few support emails directly through the CP website about what I wanted to be added to the shop or whatever. I can’t say that I came up with any original ideas for them to add but I did ask for them to bring back certain items to the clothes shop and sure enough the next shop magazine had what I wanted.

@@switch1e I do think there was one time I asked for something and didn’t get it but I feel like I may remember getting a reply giving me a reason why they wouldn’t, being that they were trying more variety rather than just going back to old. So I started playing club penguin from summer of 2006 until around 2011. I vividly remember 3 giant reasons why club penguin myths got so popular and basically the source that started the hypetrain. (Warning! This is also a history post on the game back in 2006-2007 from my viewpoint. Its long but i felt like I needed to share it) 1. Pins: Pins came out around 5-6 months before i started playing but i could instantly tell the coolest and most well known players had all the pins that came out earlier in the year. These players werent famous but they could get a party started in any area that they joined. I know that me and thousands of other players initially got addicted to the game because of the urge to collect everything and be cool like them. The devs also got rid of 60-70% of clothes and collectibles after each update back then so you would have to always be playing to keep up. 2. Rockhopper: The day that Rockhopper first came to club penguin was the day when it collectively clicked in our minds of how amazing it is to be a famous penguin (basically being an e-celeb back in 2006). Ill still never forget faking being sick just to celebrate with everyone for 2 days in a row because of his arrival. His arrival also created the first major hints at club penguin myths being developed by players, but it was basically either ignored or super boring since some random kid just made it up to prank people... That was until a few things all happened at the same time. 3. The devs themselves got more players interested in myths by using the club penguin newspaper + youtube + club penguin fame: The thing that really catapulted club penguin myths into being a big mainstream-topic on most servers all came from the club penguin times/the newspaper. Slowly over time players would notice the devs dropping hints in the newspaper to let people know about new features coming to the game to get players excited. This created a large group of players that would constantly spread rumors of hidden information & clickable items buried deep in the newspapers pages. Not only this but players could also submit their own creative jokes & drawings that would be put into the newspaper every week. Well eventually more people would listen to these rumors and read the newspapers all the way to the end and try to find all the hidden information and items. What ended up happening is they would also start noticing the people that got their penguin names put on the last few pages, these players would became instantly semi-famous for a week. This was such a giant deal immediately after halloween 2006 that it nearly became impossible to get your creative work submissions noticed by the the devs. The people that did get their works put on the newspaper got addicted to being semi-famous for a week and started doing everything they could to keep up that feeling for as long as possible, then youtube club penguin videos hit the community. Sometime around the Christmas event of that year, I remember club penguin youtubers instantly becoming massive and well-known by all after they made their own videos. This sparked the craze of making club penguin guides, making club penguin tour videos of events, showing people how to make igloo parties, club penguin music videos, etc~>. This fame was so new and it was 10x crazier then what previously "cool/well known" players dealt with at the start of the year. Basically it got to the point where famous youtuber penguins would enter a medium sized server and then it would instantly become full and no one could enter in the area that they went into. But the biggest videos that became a giant trend around early-mid 2007 was the myth videos. The first people that started doing it were pulling in 50-100k views per video in it's first month of being published which was pretty much impossible for 99% of youtube game videos back then. Due to all of this the club penguin myths instantly became a staple in the game and the devs continued to fan the flames for years even after i stopped playing. So to sum all of this up, the way the game was designed back in 2006 and the culture it created basically jump-started the entire genre of club penguin myths. Im also so glad you made this video because it reminded me of some of the best gaming memories of my entire life. Thank you.

When I was a kid playing club penguin, I never had membership, so of course looking up "club penguin free membership" or "club penguin cheats" was something I would do in hopes of experiencing the whole game. I remember finding this website that had a few tips and tricks I already knew like codes you could claim or some hidden stuff, but also in the same article there was an entry saying that your account becomes member if you have 1 million coins or more. Little young me believed it because if it's on the internet, then it must be true, so I grinded the pizza or the coffee bag minigame for hours, and I believe I literally got to 130k before losing interest.

Some of my best memories come from Club Penguin. There was of course playing the game every day after school and all the different parties, but I remember so much more, and pretty vividly. From the fun parties and cool crossovers with stuff like the Avengers, to the whacky world of Pookies and e-dating, Club Penguin really taught me a lot, for better or for worse. I remember my friend and I arguing about Puffles and what color would get added next, and how overjoyed we were when brown Puffles got added in. I remember going to Toys R Us with my family after my birthday and using my birthday money to buy an Igloo playset and Gary the Gadget Guy figure. I remember always begging my family for the real Cardjitsu cards, and trying to get them to play it with me. The DS EPF games, the Wii game, Game Day, the redesigns of the famous penguins like Cadence, it's all there in my head. The Box Dimension, the dragon's gold horde, desperately trying to get into specific servers on famous penguin visiting days, especially Gary and Sensei, so many fun little events. Club Penguin and I share so many memories, and it's so sad to see what happened to it. I didn't get to play the final party, I hadn't heard about it until after it was over. This stupid little game will always have a special place with me.

But honestly the place where I was mainly was card-jitsu. It was my favorite place by far. I remember first went for fire element. When ice was added I went for It. And I remember how angry I would get by being bad at Water element. It's ironic how my three brothers and I were for each element. My sister mained Ice, my older brother Water and I did fire. Good memories, indeed. I still keep my "villain special" magazine. My brothers and I just got a magazine for each one once. And I Well remember how much I liked Tusk, mostly by design. And got the magazine. I still keep It to this day.

There used to be a cheat client available (which was taken down pretty quickly iirc) and it let you teleport to any location, even if it wasn't available at the time such as Rockhopper's ship. I remember using it and teleporting to his ship expecting to be taken to Rockhopper island, but was pretty disappointed when I didn't find it. Though I did get very spooked when I saw another player enter the same room as me because I thought it was a developer. Turns out it was another player using the same cheat client as me. We became good friends from that point onwards but eventually he stopped logging in. Good times.

Honestly Club Penguin will always hold a special place in my heart. You could tell how much love and effort the creators put into the game, especially with all the little details. I remember coming home and being so excited for literally every party that came out.

No, but do y';all remember "Aunt Arctic is The Director"? I'm not sure if the devs saw that theory and were like "yeah, sure" and made it canon, or if it was always planned and we just picked up on foreshadowing, but I will never forget how utterly hyped I was when it was confirmed that all our tinfoil hatting was RIGHT.

I never knew of many of the fan theories except for rockhopper island, shadow & the iceberg tipping. 2010 onwards until 2017 I only played because I was in the club penguin armies community, which that is a whole iceberg waiting to happen on its own lol. But this was a great video I learned quite a bit from it!

In Israel we had our versions of club penguin and one of my favourite things is that often the rumours were true the creators would hide a lot of stuff making easter egg hunting a massive thing also it seems like they would add atuff based on the rumours which was super cool of them

I remember going to the local town with my parents and there where some stalls up one selling boxes and boxes of Club Penguin trading card packs, and they where really cheep also! so once every 2 weeks I would get a box of them from my parents and would open them to complete my collection but what I was hoping for was a golden code card, these where 1/25 packs I believe and would instant unlock a piece of the clothing for the card jitsu suits, the fire snow and water ones, I managed to complete all 3 of the sets just with those codes and wish I couls still find my club penguin trading cards as I had a full set of them.

Banger video. I remember believing most of these when I played Club Penguin. These, along with stuff like Waluigi in SM64DS, and the myriad of hoaxes I believed about Pokemon games are so funny looking back. It's honestly a shame that video game hoaxes can't really spread the same way anymore.

I remember seeing a video where someone did a tutorial on how to make your puffles sing, by telling them to "sing" then waiting until they bounce towards the corner, they then cheered and opened MS paint with a picture of a puffle pasted in. They'd click on the corner of the puffle's mouth and start to drag an opaque black circle around mimicking the puffle's mouth moving all while dragostea din tei played in the background and child me believed it.

In terms of puffles, there was one teased puffle that was never added, despite having several easter-eggs in various medias to it: The Purple Turkish Van Cat Puffle. This puffle was seen in various parties, such as the Paper Sketch Box Dimension, during the Puffle Trouble animation when Herbert's cave was flooded with Puffles, and a few other behind the scenes stuff. I believe it was even featured in a official guide at some point? This was the ORIGINAL "creature" puffle, but was never added into the game. Its unfortunate, since it was such a mysterious puffle. The concept was reused, but I always thought, when I was a kid, that it was a Puffle who's gimmick was magic, where it wouldve been able to turn into various other creatures, but it was never released. I wonder what happened to it... There's a wikipedia article about it, which isn't the most reliable source, but it documented its appearences quite well.

I'm honestly sympathetic to the membership business model, mostly because there are a lot of questionable ethics to websites that include targeted advertisements to children. Club Penguin was very clear in its intention to not monetize through ads (many of which are often made to confuse and deceive kids) and I think one some level, it's respectable

I think another one of the main reasons card jitsu shadow was a belief was due to a power card that, when played in the original card jitsu, had the user actually equip a shadow ninja outfit that has the same shape as the elemental ninja suits.
