That's what sometimes happens when it's your first true love. It lasts a lifetime even if you mentally comprehend it didn't work out and you never see them in your life again. Swoop’s setting the standard to how interviews like these should be done. Helping a person feel safe to share their experiences is so important because a lot of the press wouldn’t give this much grace for the sake of sensationalism. I keep thinking about a good chunk of the Diane Sawyer and Martin Bashir interviews back in the day for comparison. They feel so wrong looking back at how they were obtained. She was cutting him off from what might be a support system for him when she eventually had used him up and found something "better". If he ever disclosed what it was like to be married to her, she could point to the message and say he was the abuser in a timestamped text message. I think it’s either one of two scenarios: 1) Shane knew she was lying so he sent the screenshots to Steve so they could gossip about her behind her back. 2) Shane believed her and sent them to Steve to show him that Josh was actually the bad one. The way that Josh tells the story about Nikki showing him the screenshots and Steve being hesitant makes me believe that the screenshots were actually sent to Steve. Which makes sense, because Steve and Shane were very good friends. Steve was also friends with Josh and has spoken about how Colleen was always talking shit about Josh to him. He claims he didn’t tell Josh at the time because he didn’t want go get involved in their relationship. Considering that Steve actually knew Josh and Shane had previously called Colleen a hateful person, I’m inclined to believe they were gossiping.

I sure hope this monster's career is over and she never ever comes back to the internet or any type of social media whatsoever. She needs to see a psychologist. Go live a quiet life and take masses of sensitivity training. Because she's effed up in the head. When I was her age or any age under that. I would never even THINK of the stuff she did. Her mind is just wrong. At 36 years old I had teenagers! I wasn't prancing around the stage like a buffoon on cheap sets, getting children to stick their hands down my pants. Getting children to talk about my ex-husband concerning sex and about my adulterous lover and sex, and and assaulting little girls on stage and sending people after my ex or after a teenager ( Adam) or making disgusting videos Geared toward children but having super crude overtly obvious sexual content. This woman's brain is not right, she's a sexual predator.

It's been over 10 years since I saw my ex-best friend, I live in a different state with a job she couldn't touch and friends she doesn't know and I'm still scared of her. 2 years ago I told a mutual friend of ours that I'm still friends with everything. I cried through the whole conversation, I remember saying "I'm not trying to say things to be mean" and "I'm not trying to hurt her" and "I don't want to hurt her" because I was afraid of everything getting back to her and her spinning a whole new story about how I was only saying stuff to make her look bad and hurt her. Stories of her throwing racist and homophobic slurs at the friends I had left, stories of her bullying and harassing people that our mutual friend was aware of because she had been one of my ex-best friends first victims in 4th grade. She bullied and belittled everyone and got everyone else in on it with the threat of them being next if they didn't. Think Allie from pretty little liars and I was Emily and our mutual friend was Spencer. It's a fear that becomes ingrained in you to a point where it blurs and buries you under what she wants. It takes a long long time and a lot of work and reflection to find all those hidden threads still tied around your heart and mind. I JUST started listening to my favorite band again because my ex-best friend introduced me to them and I couldn't listen to them without panic and fear pulling me down. @@BeKind2AllKindswell during the interview, he even vocalized the urges to "protect" her. And while it's admirable that he doesn't want to dog on someone that he used to be with, the things he had to say were her shitty actions...and the fact he had to fight the urges to not speak them at times shows there is still some hesitancy- rightfully so though. If I was in his shoes rn, I would feel and do the same. Any time he tried to speak, there was always something silencing him in some form. And the interview was once again, a time he voiced what he had to say, and bc every time he'd be silenced...it's not hard to understand or believe that he would have some fear of backlash, attacks, and silencing after he does the interview. Now, he has been strong and brave to speak up and take accountability. I wasn't happy, because cancer sucks. But I wasn't upset either. I think as survivors we are entitled to want "revenge" but we also are usually good people, and having been through the pain, don't want anyone else to go through it. We want them to know the pain they caused us, but we don't want them to have it worse. (Inigo Montoya only inured the 6 fingered man in all the places he was injured. That was revenge for himself. Killing Count Rugen was revenge for his father. Doing no more than was done to him.) Sorry, I'm a massive nerd.

I don’t sit here every day wishing bad things happen to him, but I also don’t feel any pity or sympathy for him when they do. Yeah, I clocked that. At first I was squinting but the more he revealed about the public scrutiny and especially about the dark place it took him, I immediately understood he's speaking like this out of fear it'll be twisted. He fully believes every word he says will be twisted and taken out of context so he has to psychologically defend himself by stating it over and over. It's even at the point you can see his hurt, you can see him catching himself when he's like "I'm still protecting her." and the moments where he needs to express "I don't want to be seen as bashing her." It's this mental war in him that I relate to and I think a lot of us do. When you're hurt, you're hurt and you want to express that, but you get so scared that saying what hurt - and even getting triggered by that hurt - is just seen as you shitting on someone. EVEN if that person shat on you. It's exhausting to have to do the work when the other person won't. His hurt hit home for me. And he's absolutely terrified and tired.

Yes he gained from the relationship in terms of fame and money, but she had all the power and he didnt do anything without her approval. Money and fame means nothing if he cant use it without "betraying" his wife, the one person he didnt want to lose. He said it himself that her family became his, so yes he had other people to lose too. You think he could've just left?? Look what happened to him when SHE LEFT HIM. I dont think your neanderthal brain could even comprehend how much more escalated the situation could have been if he did, and he already had no will to live. You have absolutely no right to comment on whether someoneis a victim or not, far less to deny their very real trauma.

She's lucky Josh isn't more vindictive, because he could totally sue her for defamation. She knowingly and intentionally disseminated lies about him with the intention of making him look bad to others in the industry and his own potential fans, and as a result he was run off the internet and has been struggling with mental health for years. That's a really solid defamation case.

I'm also so proud of you for shining through all of the darkness Colleen had sent your way.

Colleen put so much time and effort into keeping Josh silent not just because of her narcissistic and abusive ways but also because she knew that if he ever got the chance to speak up after breaking free from her, there would be no place for her to hide anymore. Josh spoke from the heart and he took full accountability for what he did and what he allowed to be done. He did the right thing. Josh is a good person with a heart of gold, even after everything he's been through and that's true strength right there. Colleen didn't deserve him and I'm glad that he's found true love with Pamela. I'm glad that he's still with us. SWOOP is just fucking amazing. Her actions match her words and she is a Gem. She was the perfect person for Josh to speak the truth to. I'm glad that he was able to help you in your healing journey, Adam. You guys are cut from the same cloth and that's a great thing. Real man activity and he is also a victim in this story too who was in a emotionally abusive relationship and let's not bash him but uplift him. Way to go Josh, way to go. 🙏🏽

I think you can tell that prior to all the stuff that happened to Josh, he had a level of naivety that I think colleen exploited which is what she does. The part that broke my heart was him saying that he doesn’t go out and he has a hard time with trusting people because you can see the trauma on his facial expressions, his voice, his body language. He went insular at one point. Also I love when swoop brought up Pamela because no one talks about how all of this is effecting her. She knew Josh before and after and was his rock. I hope Josh and Pamela and their little pup have some peace now that the interview is out.

Josh seems genuinely like such an amazing person, and while I was watching his interview I couldn’t help but cry. The amount of pain that he’s been through, and the fact that he’s still here, is simply incredible and a testament to his goodness and strength. Hearing him speak about how Coleen treated him, I couldn’t help but remember my own ex as well and how their behavior is almost exactly like Coleen’s to a tee. They both see themselves as victims who can do no wrong, while maliciously hurting those around them, who care about them the most, to protect themselves. The fact that he took so much accountability as well, even taking accountability for stuff that wasn’t directly his fault, is simply incredible and something you don’t see much of. He’s truly an amazing person, and I hope his life doesn’t get even more upturned from this. Closing off, both you, Josh, and all the other victims have been through so much. Please know that you are all so incredible, and that you all deserve peace and healing from these awful things. I hope that someday you all get to move forward from this and leave all that pain behind.

I won’t lie, I teared up many times in that video, but the last part of him talking about Johnny, where he says all he wants is to live, to have his little house and his wife and his dog, and how Johnny was just hounding him to destroy the little amount of joy he found after everything else had imploded, it killed me. Also, the Christian mentorship thing is no joke. As someone who also grew up in a church, you were kind of expected to just divulge your whole life story and experience to someone in the church, who was also completely unprepared to help if you said things were going bad in your life. Mentor relationships are so heavily encouraged, and in my personal experience, if someone wanted to get more recognition, maybe if they wanted to become paid staff at the church or become a preacher, they will hunt out young kids in the youth groups and kind of strong-arm kids into being in these mentorships.

I felt a lot of empathy for Josh and i really pitied the amount of manipulation and maltreatment he went through at the hands of Colleen. I knew she was a bit of a monster but wow. Josh, after all that, still tried to be fair and much nicer than she deserved. I'm so glad that Swoop did this series because none of the victims would never have put it all together and make sense of it because it was complex and there were so many lies. I really hope that everyone harmed by Colleen can heal from all of this and I hope that Colleen gets her just desserts.

The depths of her evil concerning children on stage, children in chats, Adam getting lingerie under age and her sending Adam pron, her disgusting sex show with Kory, the way she sent her child fans after you and Josh, where you both had to move, making fun of someones body, cheating and on and on is mind boggling. Even if she ever apologized ( which she won't) she's still a very dark creepy person. Just thinking of those videos she did with Kory but geared toward children is heart breaking.

A piece of the interview I found very interesting was that Josh never put down Erik. He knew how Colleen was, and probably knew Erik was under her spell, like he used to be. Josh even called Erik very good-looking. I mean what guy wouldn't want to destroy the man who broke up their marriage, but Josh knew (even though Erik knowingly had the affair with a married Colleen) that it was Colleen who was at fault. Josh knew how she cheated before they were married, he knew how she spoke and slandered him, so he didn't go after Erik. That shows me how mature Josh is. Should Erik ever watch that interview, I hope he realizes that Colleen lied to get his sympathy and made a fool out of him by believing Josh was the monster. Erik should throw Kory out, too! Erik needs to start protecting his children.

She continued to talk really bad about him, and which I thought was so weird at the time. Josh was so visibly nervous and swoop had the bravery to grill him regardless. The net result was a completely genuine interview. That’s rare nowadays and I wish so much love to the both of them. You could see Josh’s regret and I feel like he’s really done his part to take accountability and remove himself from the internet as a result, and work on himself, which is big of him and the best thing a creator in that situation can do. Something that other, money-hungry creators, have not been able to do.

It surprised me, I only started watching her blogs in 2020, watched some of Josh’s and it was pretty obvious she had cheated but I was like”she’s happy with Eric and he’s happy with Pamela now. Whatever” But the messaging Shane Dawson was weird. It was strategically him too. Any other. Person would have called the police for a safety check.
