The way that Josh tells the story about Nikki showing him the screenshots and Steve being hesitant makes me believe that the screenshots were actually sent to Steve. Which makes sense, because Steve and Shane were very good friends. Steve was also friends with Josh and has spoken about how Colleen was always talking shit about Josh to him. @@BeKind2AllKindsas someone that had a best friend for 6 years in school who was EXACTLY like Colleen that fear is so so so hard to conquer. It's been over 10 years since I saw my ex-best friend, I live in a different state with a job she couldn't touch and friends she doesn't know and I'm still scared of her. 2 years ago I told a mutual friend of ours that I'm still friends with everything. I cried through the whole conversation, I remember saying "I'm not trying to say things to be mean" and "I'm not trying to hurt her" and "I don't want to hurt her" because I was afraid of everything getting back to her and her spinning a whole new story about how I was only saying stuff to make her look bad and hurt her. Stories of her throwing racist and homophobic slurs at the friends I had left, stories of her bullying and harassing people that our mutual friend was aware of because she had been one of my ex-best friends first victims in 4th grade. She bullied and belittled everyone and got everyone else in on it with the threat of them being next if they didn't. Think Allie from pretty little liars and I was Emily and our mutual friend was Spencer. It's a fear that becomes ingrained in you to a point where it blurs and buries you under what she wants. It takes a long long time and a lot of work and reflection to find all those hidden threads still tied around your heart and mind. I JUST started listening to my favorite band again because my ex-best friend introduced me to them and I couldn't listen to them without panic and fear pulling me down. You can hear in what he says he's still afraid.

@@BeKind2AllKindswell during the interview, he even vocalized the urges to "protect" her. And while it's admirable that he doesn't want to dog on someone that he used to be with, the things he had to say were her shitty actions...and the fact he had to fight the urges to not speak them at times shows there is still some hesitancy- rightfully so though. If I was in his shoes rn, I would feel and do the same. Any time he tried to speak, there was always something silencing him in some form. And the interview was once again, a time he voiced what he had to say, and bc every time he'd be silenced...it's not hard to understand or believe that he would have some fear of backlash, attacks, and silencing after he does the interview. Now, he has been strong and brave to speak up and take accountability. He's not fully scared but he's vocalized some tendencies and it's common sense that there's still fear of past things happening that will be brought up.

I wasn't happy, because cancer sucks. But I wasn't upset either. I think as survivors we are entitled to want "revenge" but we also are usually good people, and having been through the pain, don't want anyone else to go through it. We want them to know the pain they caused us, but we don't want them to have it worse. (Inigo Montoya only inured the 6 fingered man in all the places he was injured. That was revenge for himself. Killing Count Rugen was revenge for his father. Doing no more than was done to him.) Sorry, I'm a massive nerd.

The person who spent decades abusing me and destroying my life had a heart attack recently and because it’s my uncle I do still have some connections through family. I don’t sit here every day wishing bad things happen to him, but I also don’t feel any pity or sympathy for him when they do. Yeah, I clocked that. At first I was squinting but the more he revealed about the public scrutiny and especially about the dark place it took him, I immediately understood he's speaking like this out of fear it'll be twisted. He fully believes every word he says will be twisted and taken out of context so he has to psychologically defend himself by stating it over and over. It's even at the point you can see his hurt, you can see him catching himself when he's like "I'm still protecting her." and the moments where he needs to express "I don't want to be seen as bashing her." It's this mental war in him that I relate to and I think a lot of us do. When you're hurt, you're hurt and you want to express that, but you get so scared that saying what hurt - and even getting triggered by that hurt - is just seen as you shitting on someone. EVEN if that person shat on you. It's exhausting to have to do the work when the other person won't. His hurt hit home for me. And he's absolutely terrified and tired.

@@BeKind2AllKinds people like you are the reason that victims dont ever speak out. By his words yes, it was not domestic violence. But he said it was an abusive relationship. Just because they had no kids and he made some money for himself doesn't mean "he had nothing stopping him from leaving". The whole point about abusive partners is that they manipulate your love for them and control aspects of your life in order to keep you around like a puppet. He was extremely devoted to her emotionally and he was a huge part of her content whether she wants to admit that or not. She was never gonna let him leave her without setting herself up first (which is what she did with getting the netflix show and a new man). Alot of people forget that josh had his own successful youtube career before theirs joined up. So his presence absolutely helped her grow bigger. Their vlog channels and collabs was most of her content. He supported her in every way and she used him. Yes he gained from the relationship in terms of fame and money, but she had all the power and he didnt do anything without her approval. Money and fame means nothing if he cant use it without "betraying" his wife, the one person he didnt want to lose. He said it himself that her family became his, so yes he had other people to lose too. You think he could've just left?? Look what happened to him when SHE LEFT HIM. I dont think your neanderthal brain could even comprehend how much more escalated the situation could have been if he did, and he already had no will to live. You have absolutely no right to comment on whether someoneis a victim or not, far less to deny their very real trauma.

I think you can tell that prior to all the stuff that happened to Josh, he had a level of naivety that I think colleen exploited which is what she does. The part that broke my heart was him saying that he doesn’t go out and he has a hard time with trusting people because you can see the trauma on his facial expressions, his voice, his body language. He went insular at one point. Also I love when swoop brought up Pamela because no one talks about how all of this is effecting her. She knew Josh before and after and was his rock. I hope Josh and Pamela and their little pup have some peace now that the interview is out.

I am a tech person at a theater 🎭 she has done shows at We did call her the KZbinr. Look I didn’t know anything about her, one would think someone who tours as much as she has would know and understand things.

Ooooo I was waiting for your take on that Swoop interview. It’s so cute you got a Cameo for your mom. Your relationship is so cute ❤

Josh was so visibly nervous and swoop had the bravery to grill him regardless. The net result was a completely genuine interview. That’s rare nowadays and I wish so much love to the both of them. You could see Josh’s regret and I feel like he’s really done his part to take accountability and remove himself from the internet as a result, and work on himself, which is big of him and the best thing a creator in that situation can do. Something that other, money-hungry creators, have not been able to do.

I won’t lie, I teared up many times in that video, but the last part of him talking about Johnny, where he says all he wants is to live, to have his little house and his wife and his dog, and how Johnny was just hounding him to destroy the little amount of joy he found after everything else had imploded, it killed me. Also, the Christian mentorship thing is no joke. As someone who also grew up in a church, you were kind of expected to just divulge your whole life story and experience to someone in the church, who was also completely unprepared to help if you said things were going bad in your life. Mentor relationships are so heavily encouraged, and in my personal experience, if someone wanted to get more recognition, maybe if they wanted to become paid staff at the church or become a preacher, they will hunt out young kids in the youth groups and kind of strong-arm kids into being in these mentorships.

I'm always impressed with Swoop. Her documentaries are always so well done. I felt a lot of empathy for Josh and i really pitied the amount of manipulation and maltreatment he went through at the hands of Colleen. I knew she was a bit of a monster but wow. Josh, after all that, still tried to be fair and much nicer than she deserved. I'm so glad that Swoop did this series because none of the victims would never have put it all together and make sense of it because it was complex and there were so many lies. I really hope that everyone harmed by Colleen can heal from all of this and I hope that Colleen gets her just desserts.

You're right Adam, there's a black hole where her soul should be. She lies for fun. She gets off on hurting others. The damage that this narcissistic sociopath left in her wake is breathtaking.

Josh saying he participated in troubling content because he was selfish, because he wanted the money and attention, was so brave and first and foremost refreshing. I'm so tired of ppl blaming their mental health or pushing the narrative in a way that makes them the story seem like they are the victim after all

I remember back then when I did watch Josh and Colleen, I always had a good feeling about Josh and was so sad when she said she was getting divorced. A blessing in disguise! I’m happy he found someone better!

I'm glad Josh said he doesn't forgive her. It was so heartbreaking to hear him say he used to keep a will in his pocket for his wife... Yet, he still also said he hoped she had people taking care of her and didn't bad-mouth her at all in the entire 3+ hour long video. Hope he's doing good after this & can finally put this behind him.

If Josh really trashed their hotel room, wouldn’t that be documented by police?
@VAL420 Жыл бұрын
It would at least show up on the bill. When I worked at a hotel, there was a price for each item - a lamp being $50 when it did not cost $50 to replace for example.

There would definitely be an invoice if no one went to report it to the police. Hotels will charge you for everything.

People like Colleen do not feel hurt the way we do, so I imagine she is fine. Panicked about her career and very, very angry at everyone who has spoken out, but fine aside from that.

Agreed. Probably stressed about her career and image. But based on her apology, she has no regrets or guilt about what she’s done.

love seeing you with the glass of wine, you deserve it! but seriously I can’t agree with everything you’re saying enough. I watched the interview last night and when he described coming home to her in the deserted house and she was playing the ukulele it was chilling, just because of how much of a monster she’s turned out to be and the image of her doing the ukulele video, it was just too much for me. I have been so fascinated with this story because I can’t believe that I was watching her vlogs for a short time less than a year ago. I just want everyone to get the justice they deserve in the wake of such horrible trauma and knowing that might not be possible, the healing and safety and happiness that they deserve. i’m so glad josh came out and talked about this and that it’s giving you some kind of closure. edit: it hurt to watch josh in this pain and honestly everyone else in this pain because you just know she didn’t care about any of you if you didn’t benefit her in some way. it’s all fucked up and I hope she knows she ruined everything for herself. i hate knowing that I wish ill on someone but my heart says she deserves to feel an enormous amount of guilt and pain

Hey, at least you acknowledge it and have learned from it. We all make mistakes, big and small. It can be especially true when it comes to defending someone we believe is being hurt. Just remember that and I hope you're well otherwise. 💕

Sometimes you’ve just got to chalk it up to a lesson learned. There’s always two sides to every story and never assume. You were t the only one surprised though. It surprised me, I only started watching her blogs in 2020, watched some of Josh’s and it was pretty obvious she had cheated but I was like”she’s happy with Eric and he’s happy with Pamela now. Whatever” But the messaging Shane Dawson was weird. It was strategically him too. Any other. Person would have called the police for a safety check.
