I love Black Talon as it's sleek and beautiful. The lore behind it is that it was crafted after Taken King to remember Uldren Sov, prince of the Awoken, cause this was before Forsaken and he was assumed dead. So lore wise I like to say my Guardian received it as a gift for this, I'd use it to remind me of the alliance with the Awoken as well as an Auto Rifle from the Drifter, and a sniper rifle from the Vanguard. My weapons I use basically represent an alliance between the remnants of Humanity, that we'll stand together no matter what threat comes. Very fitting to use this sword to take revenge on Uldren for killing Cayde, and continue to wield it when Uldren is reborn as a Guardian named Crow, Crow starts a new life free of Uldren's sins, but is haunted by a past he doesn't now, eventually he's given Uldren's memories up till his death, but continues as a good guy, no longer scared of becoming Uldren again, he'll move on to use those memories to grow better then Uldren and learn from his mistakes. SOem say Crow could one day take Cayde's place as Hunter Vanguard. Destiny is kind of poetic in some parts of the story.

That is part of the issue though of guns vs swords. A Sword can have almost any design and as long as it doesn't break it can still be an effective weapon even as a club, a gun on the other hand requires so many things to be working right to get any real use out of it.

Funnily enough the hive swords actually get sharper with every kill. As they are a manifestation of the sword logic. (If i kill you i prove that I'm stronger than you, thus i can bend your existence to my will) A strong enough wielder might even use a blade like that to cut gods in half.

Heartshadow is actually an assassin's dagger weilder by aliens. Said aliens are rather big though so the dagger is like a sword to us. In game it fires projectiles and makes the user invisible. Falling Guillotine actually opens up into 2 blades as the wielder spins it around themselves, that's why it has the extra sharp bits between the 2 blades. The Lament was actually created for a exo supersoldier and is currently being used by guardian supersoldiers, so there's no lack of strength when considering the weight or deceleration of the blade. Black Talon is actually a momento for an awoken prince. In game the awoken are the closest to elves destiny has so it's great that you saw that comparison. Sola's Scar actually slings a disk of energy. Think of it as more of a lacrosse racket than a pure sword. The hive swords actually get sharper as they get used. They can get to the point of slicing through space itself to create portals to other dimensions. The look of them is just the accumulation of the wear and tear as the blade is homed into its perfect form.

The quick fang is a sword that contains void energy and the blade is similar to a Japanese katana except its forged into a cobra shape like blade that you could use the hitch of the blade to either climb mountains or pull your enemies towards you if you rather go all out and the hole near the handle is use to lock with one or another to finish your enemy with either a hand gun or a knife Sometimes we have to get creative in making sword

I loved the references he taught us through that analysys, some stuff I have never seen before. In addition to Crown-splitter, other swords not covered would be Steel Sybil, Negative Space, Night Terror and Zephyr.
