Syclone Power Tour Prep! Let's Get SOME A/C working!

After 3 years doing the Hot Rod Power Tour Long haul in my 1979 AMC AMX, it's time to change it up and try a different kind of ride. Maybe even something, with a little bit of dare I say, comfort! This year I'm taking my Dad's 1991 GMC Syclone that is essentially all stock and original, with just a few minor problems. The biggest of which, is a lack of functional Air Conditioning!
So our biggest challenge today, other than getting the paint looking pretty, and some fluid changes, is to get the A/C blowing cold in this 23 year old truck so I can for ONCE be comfortable and relaxed on the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour!

In my humble opinion Austin, I would not trust those tires. A blowout at speed could be really bad. Don`t put yourself in that precarious position. Love that truck. Take basic tools and fluids with you

Take the tires and basic tools, Dad will look after you. I know mine would. Lost mine 11/3 2023, one of my best friends on 11/11/2024 and celebrated, kinda, my 61st birthday this past year. I feel that all we have lost look out for us. Never forget that, I have many protectors I have lost and I thank them every day!

Austin on your Poncho 350 bore it to 4.00 and use Chevy flat top pistons.

Temporary fix for sagging headliner, cut aluminum strips and slightly bend them ,tuck up under plastic trim, I'll see you in hebron, driving my 30th anniversary trans am

change the tires, think how bad you would feel if one of those tires blow and you damage that truck

Personally, I would change those tires out. Everyone knows what kind of a mess a blown tire does to a vehicle. Take the chance on destroying your dad’s truck. Just change them tires out.

Austin let me remind you the tires that killed Paul Walker were 9 years old. If a loyal customer came to your shop and said “Hey, Austin I’m going on a 1,000 mile trip do you think these 19 yr old tires would be ok?” I know you would tell them to replace them. Hate to see you put your Dads truck in the wall over a busted tire. You already spent the money and you have the equipment to mount and balance.
