Nice reaction. I stumbled on Sydnie by accident quite a few weeks ago when someone commented about her on another singer’s video right after her audition video was posted. And I knew then, she was a force to reckon with. And it was karma that the song she sang in the final was the song playing near the end in her audition.

Yes I wasn’t looking for her either but she cropped up and I just thought she was great! We don’t always get the best singers on these shows in the UK!! Haha … she can definitely hold her own with the best of them ☺️

I suspect when Sydney sang this song at 4 years old, it was with the original childhood optimism. She's now 28 with a faltering music career, and her appearance here being, in her own words, a "last ditch" effort to have a musical career, she is much more negative so she changes the wording, especially from "only" a day away to "always" a day away, which she emphasizes with her last verse, reduced in pace and volume, her facial expression so sad, that she has no faith in "tomorrow." The incredible irony is that by transforming the lyrics and by becoming herself, she has achieved the recognition she deserves.

Well said! I liked that she tells a story with her singing. Oh, wait, she has some musical theater experience?! Good for her! Frankly, many singing contestants would benefit, as would the audience, if they take some musical theater lessons before singing on a world stage. Not to ham it up or get overly dramatic/emphatic, but to be more believable, engaging and entertaining.

Thank you 🙏 I think she has a nice balance though right of some natural more contemporary singing mixed with a touch of musical theatre flavour too! She’ll get an agent now and will be on the WestEnd in no time. I’d go and see her for sure ☺️☺️

She brings to mind young Streisand in this song. She could do remakes of Funny Girl and What's Up Doc and do justice to the original artist.

Yes, she's obviously had one part in the West End... once. Now think of the number of people with far less talent and yet with millions of views on YT before having showed up on BGT, not mentioning those going on a "Got Talent" tour including the US, Canada, Australia, France and, why not, Azerbaijan (They're bloody rich) and having the judges to pretend they've never heard of them. I've never read anyone blaming those. You realise from the fourth note that Sydnie Christmas has the best singing voice. She fully deserves her break on stage.

Just to clarify, she’s NEVER been in the West End. Doing a tour in Germany of “Starlight” is like comparing lemonade to champagne. But having worked for years on the biggest shows in the West End, I can confidently say I’ve never heard a voice as good as Sydnies. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest names too! 😉 Sydnie is so unique, and has a personality that is incomparable! She’s incredible ❤️

Sydnie has NEVER been on the West End! Even to this day after winning BGT! She's been in Starlight Express in Germany, Grease on a cruise ship, and in Lazarus which was OFF West End. But never ON West End.
