We loved its dramas, but were also exposed to state narrative via The News at 7.30 (Chishty Mujahid and Shaista Zaid), and Khabarnama at 9.00 pm. We used to wonder 'yeh kab hua', when there'd be news of a high number of casualties in J&K. Once, my brother had returned from Srinagar, but the same evening there was news that the entire valley had been under curfew for a month. Anyway.. Neelaam Ghar (later The Tariq Aziz Show) was a perennial favourite and so were the ones you mentioned. 'Oye Sonay' could be heard in our drawing rooms too. Good memories, brother..

Heartening to note that though a very small but a section of youth students in Pakistan is realising that Mullas and military are the root cause of poor development of Pakistan. The only solution seems to be that all of them be highly active on social media and vent their views with reasons. So that this small section one day grows to be a majority voter.

India appears to have successfully navigated the delicate balance between faith and science. One can observe this harmony when witnessing the esteemed scientists of ISRO engaging in traditional rituals before the launch of their rockets. In contrast, Pakistani society seems to struggle with reconciling these two aspects, leading to a state of confusion, contradiction and frustration..

1:13:23 You hit the nail right on the spot sir. I have always wondered why we take pride in never invading any country /never being the first one to attack any country. It was very foolish indeed. My holy books teach me to do what is right whether it results in being violent or not. Yet, our leaders always like to play the victim card and blame it on the British, mughals. Yes, what they did was very wrong but, that doesn't excuse our inability to stand up and fight despite having the competence just because guest is God(atithi devo bhavah) . We always like to preach about non - violence but, its high time we learn from the example of other countries. Ps: This was such an insightful and eye opening lecture. I was so excited to see so many people actively engaging in conversation and i got to learn so many things. Thankyou soo much👏👏

The fact of matter is we lacked competence. Europe went ahead miles from Indian subcontinent during the Renaissance. And if look back during period of PRC there were constant infighting among local rulers. They lacked strategic vision. Thus India always fought her wars on her land.

His lectures are treat. Often Indians watch and do course correction as well as honing of knowledge of comparitive national and international studies vis a vis History polity socialism Thinker and great writers, in works of Muzzamil. But the point which hit a nail for you is actually a "claimed" point coming from Echo Chamberism and we are also victims to our own format of moderate subversion by state. Someone from audience mentioned name of Abul Kalam Azad (first education minister as he did something miraculous being a muslim 😂) except handpicking a certain class of Historians who wrote Indian History. We are also victims of our flawed storytelling I mean when Chaing Kai Shek said Indians lack importance of History. He was already planning for Tibet expansion which Mao did later. Few atomic bombs in History tellings 1. Hephlographic m-m gene flowed fron India to German - humans are from last 2 million years ago and we never invaded because we knew what voilence was as Muzzamil said initially for svandavania, we had mythlogies of Mahabharath. But recently Aryan Invasion Theory is also debunkked and questionable. 2. Slavery comes from root word slav now before questioning the cult called Islam - Ashoka did genocide after conversion to Buddhism. Cholas were mighty raiders and did unspeakable crimes as columbus did. Cholas bought and sold slaves worldwide through their maritiime ships so lets not blame Islamic Muslims for slave trade only, Its was an expansion era of cholas occured due to the position of strength. So did Kalinga Invasion. We were not as peaceful as Bipan Chnadra Thapers Mridula mukherjis Irfan Habibs wrote. All Historians can not be free from conformational biases. Especially communist. 3. Non of Handpicked Historian wrote about 1st and 2nd crusade on India only the 3rd under Qasim is written, why and when Al Biruni wrote about Amogvarsha 10000 Elephant army drinking water from Indus? Was Hindus weak at that time, Nehru handpicked historians made sure to write 10000 years of non invasion its a lie. 4. Inward science of Spirituality - Alexander met a nude Aghori - both smiled one was a conqueror of physical lands world another was conqueror of metaphysical world. Their is no need to get star struck 😅 an Indian UPSC Ias teacher Avadh Ojha teaches this formulae of "Strong Weak conundrum", so does American saying of Good times weak men Hard times strong men corollary.... History Time Naratives all are as opaque and translucent as once India was entirely buddhist majority nation for 1000+ years after which Later vedic period game rise to Brahminical Hinduism causing creation of caste system and forever diacrimination of shudra, Brahmins used to take breast tax and banned Sanskrit learning to shudras.... there are almost every format of history available.

If you understand influence just as military might, you are as confused as this non stop talking person. 😂😂

I think that the notion that we were non expansionist is not entirely true. However it is just that India itself is so big that the focus and energies of the rulers was always to expand in and around India rather than westward to Afghanistan or Iran. And by the time they would finish their rule they would have managed to conquer that much of territory in India which they did. Yes we didnt see the likes of Alexandar and Genghis Khan in our history. It is because of the fact that ours was not a tribal society where wars were the only focus day in and day out. It is comparable to a large corporate vs startup. The startups are ruthless in their expansion because that is the only thing they can afford to do. While corporates need to manage both inwards and outwards and their growth and expansion is not as fast. And to say that we lack the courage and killer instinct is discrediting the Rajputs, Marathas, Sikhs who have shown time and again that we can fight and kill as much as others. Just because our history happened to be of misfortunes doesn't mean that our DNA lacks courage and strength. We need to come out of this defeatist mindset and not let such false notions propagate. Ours is a great civilization and we have witnessed magnificent figures in our history that have exalted us to where we are.

@@Vishal- minor disagreement with you here. I agree that we do have the courage and grit to fight. But saying that the Muslim rulers couldn't convert entire population to Islam is because of that resistance is not true. The type of Islam that spread in Iran and Egypt was the extreme version of it that imposed severe penalties on non Muslim populace. The tyranny was such that they had to convert. The Islam that came to our country allowed non Muslims to co-exist though as a downgraded citizen. So we could still survive. Otherwise today we would have been sitting here gloryfying to MD.
