Hey T90, hey comment section. I am FriendlyPenguin - great honour to have a professional caster cast my game, thank you so much! The idea behind the island switch in the beginning was that I had no confidence in winning early or even stay on hi island. So the plan was to create 3 scouts, raid his island and than be able to make knights on the mainland. Everything got super messy with his towers (that I usually die to) but I loved to play this one out. It was super painful to see the amount of idle tc time that I had during the game. Still loved the cast. Glad you enjoyed it too, keep up the good work and good energy in this community ❤

I was 900-1100 year ago. Now without getting any worse in my opinion nor improving. Or maybe slightly improving because now I use some hotkeys (houses, farms and production - nothing fancy) I'm barely 800 elo

I think the appeal of putting the docks where they did was the idea that natural bays are good places for shipyards. It's something I admittedly still tend to do a lot because it feels so natural. Also, perhaps those particles on the map were locust getting into the crops (and rocks for some reason). :P

Probly because pro players are entirely predictable in their strategies, low skill players are less predictable because they usually care about meta less.

30:32 I guess the thought process from blue might have been something like: "I have only 1 vil and 1 scout. If I go to enemy island and he spots my stables going up on his own island, then the push fails. Let's go to the big neutral island, build some army there and then transport it and raid". Honestly at this ELO it worked perfectly.

I'm not sure if 800 or 900 would count as low elo legends now. Most people in that bracket are very experienced players but more on the casual side. An 870 elo player of today would have been a 1000++ a couple of years ago.

I am a lower ELO Legend, but why when red had an archery on blue's island didn't he just crank on archers? I also would have built a barracks near my tower rather than fighting. What am I missing?

I agree. it is easy to judge others gameplay when I am not playing. The game is hard. Making the right decision on the fly is hard even if we know the right move when we are calm. 😅

This was so weird how they played it. I am the same elo as this guys and this honestly feels like it was a 600 elo game and not 870. (I dont mean disrespect really but it was weird and I have never seen someone invest less in food then red has here)
