*By functional I mean you can comfortably swing or carry it **bestgym.equipment** around as one would expect of a kettlebell weight. By versatile I mean the protective coating does not prevent attaching magnetic micro-plates to increase the weight, so, for example, a 35 pound kettlebell can be increased by up to 5 pounds in weight or possibly a bit more by attaching magnetic micro-plates.*

How did you manage to not hit yourself in the head? I've never seen anyone not complete a vertical raise. But then again I don’t look around the class.

This is great! I modified it because I’m a beginner and will gradually add weight. Want to do this safely so I don’t injure myself. It got me breathing heavy and was a great work out for me!

For all of those saying she's using incorrect KB swing technique, you are all wrong. It's not a conventional hardstyle swing as favoured by RKC, it's an American Swing with a soft bend at the end as favoured by Steve Cotter's IKFF and used in long-cycle scenarios.
@kenjohnson34225 жыл бұрын
Since starting a KB routine and coming to understand the correct form for the swing, the first thought I had when watching this was "what's the deal with that KB swing?" Is there any advantage to this form over the traditional form?
@Jueli30045 жыл бұрын
Ken Johnson - yes... you make your doctor happy because you are damaging your body

@@kenjohnson3422 This so call American swing and IKFFis nothing but a money making scam and people are going to get hurt from this crazy so call form!

During kettlebell swings your hands and weight should never go below your knees because it puts a lot of pressure in your t-spine which isn't good and can cause injury overtime, also the weight should go behind your glutes when you are bringing it back and than when you bring it up you should never bring the weight above your hips because it puts pressure in your low back which causes injury overtime also
@Debsterism2 жыл бұрын
There are different types of swings...the overhead is one, and the low style you describe which concentrates on hips and thighs with less upper body involvement. Neither is "wrong". Just do whichever you like.

ive been an avid KB user for about 15 years. riddle me this, if that bell is light enough that you can just yank it off the ground into the rack position that easy, then is it challenging enough to be front squatting with some of the strongest muscles in your body? (i know this was a tabata style workout, just food for thought)
