I'd say your starting point for leveraging submission, on an individual level, to deal with trauma, will differ depending upon the cultural starting point of a person. The personality types who choose submission vary between people. Some, dealing with a sense of helpless depression, may just want to avoid feeling responsible; possibly with good reason, possibly without. There are 2 stems to begin with. Then there are those raised in a household and culture nominally based on submission, but who are in fact assertive, dynamic, responsible people. That's a third stem. A 4th stem can be found in a person who chooses submission because of a perceived inability to control their own behavior, which might be problematic around drugs, alcohol, sexuality, finances, eating, etc, and may involve social or antisocial personality types to add more stems. That's just 4 or 5 examples, each of whom would approach the submissive traditions differently. Then there'd be the various submission-derived sects they may have been exposed to, so there are upwards of 500 variations on traditions before we get down to specific doctrines. Now we've got 2000=2500 plus possibilities, depending upon culture, personality, interlocuter, and so on.
