Boy am i glad I clicked on your site. Aquirre Springs BLM is a spectacular campground . Who ever laid it out had a eye for an esthetic sense of place. i will take No.-5. Thanks for posting this and for your efforts at really looking the campground over for your viewers..👍👍

I am living in Las Cruces, and can only recommend this hiking area. It reminds me of the Dolomites in Italy. It is so "beautiful ".

Aloha! Wow. This campground is beautiful. The views are spectacular with the mountains in the background. Maybe we’ll camp at this campground when we go back to the Land of Enchantment. Mahalo for the video!

Lived there in the 80's. Miss the mountains, we had a little spot we would cook deer meat fajitas and campout. And some 🍺

So beautful!! What are the winter temps like in the campground?? 💙Terry and Terri
@RobinT-treehugger2 күн бұрын
We haven't been there in winter, but looking at reports from the hiking app Alltrails, it does get cold at night and sometimes snow. So I guess it depends on what you are camping in and what you consider too cold. Thanks for watching!

@@RobinT-treehugger We will be in a hot tent so able to stay warm - hopefully! LOL We plan on being there in Dec. and hope it is reasonably warm. Thanks for the info!

I'm always looking for walkthroughs, thank you. Do you think any of the sites could accommodate a 16 ft bell tent? ( If you haven't seen a bell tent, they are round). A couple you showed seemed like they might. I can get creative with the tie outs, but the footprint is 16 feet. Thank you for taking the time, thumbs up :
@RobinT-treehugger Жыл бұрын
You are welcome! There might be a few that would have a flat spot big enough for that tent, but most would not. I think the tent spots generally looked good for 6x8 or 8x10 at the most. Thanks for watching.

Very nice. Do tent campers have to worry about critters? I heard a bear the other day tell me that people in sleeping bags were just tacos to them.
@RobinT-treehugger2 жыл бұрын
Critters like squirrels and mice are the biggest concern with getting into any food left out but there are bears in the mountains so you should always put away food in a bear safe container, not your tent... or you might be more than a taco!

Good info, but kind of a bummer for us. We were wanting to check out this campground at some point but looks like we won’t fit. Beautiful views though!! Thanks!!
@RobinT-treehugger2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is not good for larger campers as there are only a handful of spots they work, and as we saw those were all occupied. Plus that road going up is a couple of miles of non-stop zigzags which are horrible pulling a trailer. Some people did make it up there and they all had those bigger campsites occupied. So it can be done, but..

Sept is a great time. I have no idea about sunset though. Some people go over to White Sands NP for sunset over the dunes. Thanks for watching.

Nice views, probably nice most of the year, would think summer might be a little warm? Wonder what the elevation at the campground is? Look forward to possibly a video of a hike from this campground in the future. Safe travels.
@RobinT-treehugger2 жыл бұрын
The brochure says elevation is less than 5000' at campground, so I am guessing it would be pretty warm in summer. It is probably very busy in summer also with day visitors since there is no specific "day use" sites area, it might be hard to get a campsite. We are thinking of going back in spring for that reason and the heat. Thanks for watching!

School busses and large motorhomes drive up this road its very twisty but doable.
@RobinT-treehugger6 ай бұрын
True, my biggest concern is the blind corners with one of those large vehicles and not having a place to turn around or move over in spots. You would have to get lucky that a vehicle wasn't coming the other direction. Thanks for watching.
