This is a great ship. I think it's the all around best starter ship for anyone; cargo grid, holds mission boxes, has a bed, can hold multiple people, fast, quick animations for getting in and out, looks great, flies great, wings for atmo, etc. It can defend itself too. Throw three size 2 guns on there (matching pips) and overclock your coolers and the guns. Pew pew! The normal map on the honeycomb outer tile (white) is a little strong though. Otherwise I love the combat shuttle aesthetic!

The avenger stalker was my pledge ship and I loved it. I only upgraded to the 315p recently but seeing how they reworked the avenger series make me pumped to see what they do for the 300 series. Great Video!

Keep in mind the base Titan and the Warlock are slower to accelerate and take quite awhile to reach max AFB speed, while the Stalker and Renegade share a much more agile and swift flight model.

I've never liked the plating and while the rework has done little to change my opinion of its rustic aesthetics its interior however has become deceptively elegant in design. I can't wait to see how the Origin 300 series blossoms under similar expertise.

I love the idea of someone getting out of their cell somehow and the pilot just opening the back hatch into space. That makes me wonder, will the cells have their own life support system? It would be nice to make an example for the other prisoners.

I just wish the ceiling where the bed is had a glass roof. When you're a passenger, you have no sense of movement and breaks immersion......and a Little pull down seat

I think a glass window would break immersion more lol. A screen maybe would be cool, then you can use it to either monitor the ship or mirror the outside. A pull down seat of some sort isn't a half bad idea though. maybe the ability to turn the bed into a sofa with a screen on the opposite wall?

Eddy S yeah even if the roof on the inside was actually a screen and when under attack it would flicker and even go offline if the power was turned off or disrupted. It would be cool to have a pull down seat because then one of my friends or even a passenger that I am transporting could sit down :-)

You could tooootally fit a nox in there (well atleast the titan variant, def not this one) Ill always stick by my claim that the Avenger Titan is the best pick for a 'starter' ship, sure its a little more pricy than the actual starters but its got everything, a living area, a pretty great cargo space for its size and it can hold its own in a fight especially with that front gun.

Never bought one cause i already have my cutlass blue for bounty hunting, but i thought the emp might be useful, figured i might buy a warlock in game. I think the dash needs to be brought up some. The sensor screen should always be visible in a combat-themed ship. Ideally so would the other MFDs, but I get people would rather have things that are pretty than practical.

The avenger makes all other entry level ship worthless :p at 50$, no aurora, mustang, 100 or misc ship can match this one on cargo and fight and it outclass most of them in speed and manoevrability. They will either buff the starters or nurf this one at some point...

I think the ship is only popular because of the price. It's an obvious upgrade from the starter ships and for several years it was the only thing you could buy at that price point.

The ship is more than just cheap. It's well designed, versatile and fun to fly. For a long time the Avenger was one of my favorite dog fighting ships, on par with my Sabre.

An overall upgrade, so i'll leave judgement until it's fully implemented and we see what it can fit in, but part of me is a little disappointed. What sold me on this ship was the fact it was the size of a fighter, but had an interior. Shouldn't be an issue if it can still fit places it used to and move like a fighter (albeit a heavy one), just hope it doesn't end up being more of a heavy attacker like the Vanguard, or I may end up dumping it.

Imo the space shuttle aesthetic makes it look more outdated. In a century where they have Quantum Drives, why would they be using the same heat shields and overall design language of early space vehicles from 900 years earlier?

I think it's aesthetic is aimed at fans of the Space Shuttle and kids who watched "The Six Million Dollar Man" in the 70's, as Chris most assuredly did. If you're younger you may not know the history of lifting bodies. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifting_body

Ha, ha... good joke. The F-22 and F-35 are some of the most recent designs to utilize this type of design benefit. I challenge you to compare the Avenger with actual body lift designs and tell me the difference. The obvious problem to any such fan would be that it is the opposite of the shape the belly should have.

I love most of the Avenger rework but I just am not a fan of the outside textures. The combination of bathroom tiles and quilting is kind of dumb.

Maybe this is just me, but the landing gear looks too small or wimpy for a ship of that size... Mostly the tire size, I think they could go just a little bit bigger, then it wouldn't be so off balanced. At least that's my opinion.

applemaggot yeah I ended up turning mine into a Sabre... But honestly I'm finding I fly my Cutlass 80% of the time in the PU. The versatility makes it far more useful than a dedicated fighter most of the time. Be neat to see if the 300 gains some useable cargo space with the rework.

He was in Arena commander - which for ship reviews is great as FPS will be continuously high as there is no one else in there with him causing collisions etc and not the PTU

Destro he's in his hanger. When in the hanger your fps is dependent on your system specs, not the game's net code. Even I get smooth "play"
