I agree with you about the thrusters the old style with two big engines was really industrial and racing looking. I am a bit disapointed about the difference in this and the thinner hull at the rear as well. OH well we gained so much with V2 for the 350r. And we Finally have that cargo!

Ide go with the 315p tho. Almost as fast, but even more cargo than the 300i base. Honestly, I wish the 350r had at least the option of the normal 300 series interior. I would actually get it if so. I like the material the 350r interior is made from, but the back half is just a cot.

I really wish CIG would've added the bedside screen and personal storage like the rest of the 300 series. Otherwise, the 350r is a beautiful ship that almost no ship can catch... great for smuggling and such. Nice 350r review, Tactical.

I would realy hope they would remove the cargo space and bed and give me back my big engine and change the rear back to something special... Because racing is all about weight... this no racer anymore only a melt or lti token i held on for 5 years now....

@@skyvenrazgriz8226 I hear what you're saying and the 350r does kinda feel more like a slightly different touring ship and less like a race ship. However, the old 350r, along with the entire 300 line, didn't really feel like an Origin ship, but it did feel like a racing ship. I kinda would like see something different done with inside and I'm hoping that specially designed fuel tanks, some sort of components rack, or maybe even a specially designed storage locker can be made to fit in the rear cargo lift of the 350r, 325a, and 315p. With that said, I really wish CIG would've gotten more creative with the overall design of the 350r.

Regarding distinguishing engines, the 350R does have double scoops on the top, vs the single scoop of the other 300 series ships. While I like the redesign, I agree with you that it lacks the appearance of a racer that the previous 350R had. The lack of interior space can only be explained by the two larger engines and necessary components thereof.

I love my 350r. Swap out the guns for something easier for a ham-fisted pilot to use and I can handle pretty much all the bounty hunting missions in the game. And it's fast and can get to Hurston or ArcCorp without dropping out of QT. It's now my daily driver. I also liked the stock colour but I choose the limited edition yellow just to be different.

Same here. Upgraded it to a 325 then the 350 as better fighters came along. Still happy with it and I like the rework.

The ship's appearance is more subdued, and the performance of the components took a hit, in that it was previously possible to sustain overclocked shields, but no more.

Why is it that I always get this HUGE grin on my face whenever I hear: "Ladies and gentlemen... Tactical Advance here"? Is it that his voice is a dead ringer for Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords? Is it that KZbin's auto annotation hears that intro as "Ladies and gentlemen... Tentacle Fancier"? About the engines: Totally agree with you! Origin's design language drops the ball on the racer pedigree they used to lavish. Expect this boring non-design to also hit the M50. Sadly, the 350 does not make any sense. Just like the entire line-up, it has become a one-man Learjet one has to enter on all fours.

That weird noise you hear is the 350r purring cause it likes you lol. I like the ship but im not spending actual money on it or other small ships if they are going to keep the overheating mechanic as it is. I will buy a couple fighters for my kracken or my idris but thats it. no more small ships for me.

I’m debating between keeping my 315p and upgrading to this 350R

While the 315 has the beautiful white with blue paint job, it's my least favorite of the series. With only 2 guns it may as well have none. While it's far better to have some cargo than no cargo. 4, 8, or 12 is not enough to make you money, unless they seriously alter prices. And while I'm quite excited for tractor beams in the game. What is a 315 going to do with one? And scanning? We don't even know. I envision the 315 being useful to jump in ahead of a trading convoy, scanning for Pirates, then giving the all clear. But if it's not clear, at least it makes a pretty coffin. The 350 on the other hand jumps in, and if he finds a pirate nest he speeds off and warns the convoy. The only ship faster is the Herald, but the 350R can kill it easily enough. Once they are both away from the pirate fleet. So if you have any interest in the 350R, I would definitely choose it over the 315. (as I expect it to go off sale tomorrow, I got a CCU from cutlass red to 350 for $5. Can get the cutty red any time) On the other hand, you can get a 325 and a 300 for $125. And while we hope for better agility in the future, all you get in the 350 is 113 m/s. So. I've got a 325A and a 350R, (and the CCU for a second one later) also a CCU from Gladius to M50. So I've put my money where my mouth is. Only you can decide if it's the right ship for you.

If you examine the 350 stern vs the other variants, it does have dual engines. Yes, the Gull wing doors and 2 engine Nozzels were Bad Ass. But SO 21st century. And I suspect engine is what is taking up the bed and kitchen cubbies. HOWEVER. I don't believe anything is taking up the front cargo space. Only CIG saying "you have to make more tradeoff." I believe even the rear cargo space will hold a ranger. But I don't know for sure. If you do a 3rd person view, That space is surprisingly big. For the price tag, and giving up the kitchen and decorations. We should be getting 12 SCU, the 325's S4 Hardpoint, 2000 meters per second, and almost zero drift. It costs as much as a 325 and a 300. It should have the best of both, and more.

@JohnReviewer112 take out the cargo when you're racing. My issue is you give up the bed cubby, the kitchen, the gun rack, (is there a closet on the others? If so you give that up too.) the front cargo, the size 4 hardpoint, and a lot of hull strength. AND it costs as much more than the 325 as a 300i. What do you get for all of this? 113 m/s. Not even as fast as an $85 Herald. You want to take away all those features for a little bit of speed, it's an $85 ship. You want want to charge an extra $55 on top of that? Give me more! 1500 m/s and such tight maneuverability you'll think your on rails. 100% inertial dampening. And acceleration zero to full cruise in 5 seconds.

the new engines in my opinion look better. the old engines looked so 1970's style where as the new look more futuristic.

I agree that the new Origin design language is superior to the original and that the new engines look great, but I think what TA is getting at (and I also have to agree with him here) is that the original 350R was extremely distinct because of its two side-by-side engines where the other three models only had one. Post-rework, the aft views are the same from ship to ship and that's kind of a bummer.

If you asked someone who did not play SC they would not know its a racer. If they see the m50 they will know straight away.

Yeah there is no difference to any of the 300 series except for a bit more accelration and top speed (not sure if that isnt true in atmo, since crosssection is the same and all the stuff cig did doesnt increase max speed anymore like boost... so you propably have a racer that isnt faster in atmo...
