The review was exactly what I was looking for, the information was spot on, thank you for that. The main message I wanted to convey to you was that some folks are meant to to videos and some are not. I appreciated your way of relaying information. For me, your video was the right combination of product information and personality. You were sincere in your comments, but not cramming opinions down the viewers throat. I think you can understand where I'm coming from. Great job, in my opinion. I'm now a subscriber to your channel.

@@OBZ74 It is my understanding that SA has addressed the growing pain issue with the Prodigy and has become a reliable product. I looked at one and ended up going with the Staccato C-2. Contrary to all the tube praise, the Staccatos have issues as well. Mine is ultra reliable, however irritating things like a drop in fire control group, not hand fitted and a soft hammer that acts like a low cost poorly heat treated MIM part. Where the hammer contacts and rides the bullet stripper d inside the slide when cocking in firing is badly worn. Dead Soft! I have a friend that works at a lgs and enjoys his Tisas. No complaints. It is a government single stack model. My Les Baer has a stainless hammer which should be softer than tool steel yet after a few thousand of rounds has virtually no wear. something very wrong at this price point. My Tisas B9R does the same thing with ejection a round out of the magwell when I remove the factory Checkmate magazine. My gun also had that gritty grip safety. Mine was resolved by replacing the safety and sear spring. They have a crazy bend angle on the right leg of the sear spring. I initially thought it was a one off but bought another and it had same issue. Adding less of a curve on the right left helps clean it up or replace with a new one

I picked one up this weekend and put 250 rounds through it. I had 2 separate feeding issues and erratic ejection patterns. The dot crapped the bed in 150 rounds. The replacement irons aim about 6 inches higher than the impact at 10 yards. And the trigger is FAR heavier than it should be. My gun however, seemed to stay together better than yours did. We’ll see what a trigger job and good red dot can do. I don’t regret this $850 purchase, but I am wondering if I should have saved up for a Prodigy.

I have seen numerous good reviews of Tisas. Another regards to the holster, On one hand I like it’s ability to holster many different pistols. On the other that you have to use very specific WMLs. ALERT: I purchased this firearm in 10 mm. I have an EAA Witness Stock 2 that I use for steel plate shooting and just love. Foolishly I thought I was buying comparable quality when I purchased this firearm from them. However, after 100 rounds, the trigger pull was so bad that it was ridiculous. My trigger pull gauge goes to 12 pounds and it was beyond that before it fired. In order to send it to EAA they required me to go through an FFL and pay for shipping both ways. They replaced a couple of parts and the triggers is now set at 5 1/2 pounds. Can’t express how unhappy I am with this firearm. Avoid this gun at all costs! Based on what I’ve been seeing it appears their QC is garbage.

I picked up a 9mm commander of theirs almost two years ago. Worst 1911 I've ever had the displeasure of shooting. Dropped mags, stove piped nearly every mag. Replaced the extractor with a Wilson and tuned it. Still did it. Only 1911 I've not been able to tuned and when I could get it shooting, the next day. Horror Story all over again. Stove piped over and over again. With optic, and without. Crimping the mouth of the case. Tried Cobra Mag's and Wilsons and nothing worked. Trigger pull was just under 11 lbs. Turned out that the leaf spring was very bent and putting wild pressure on the hammer and disconnector. (Possibly same issue with the example you have as yours's had both the heavy hammer and disconnector glitch). After a lot of money in ammo and replacing the entire inside parts, I finally gave up and introduced it to my anvil and five lb. I ended up using a Hand sledge and my anvil to fix it permanently. (Bigger Hammer Syndrome). . No way I would sell the gun as it was a very unreliable sidearm. Dangerously unreliable! Another huge issue is although it is advertised as a forged frame and slide, is the barrel and slide were dead soft. The gun shot itself loose in very short order. I tightened the slide to frame and within 200 rounds it was sloppy loose again. Even if they did use the steels listed and forged, they completely missed the heat treat regardless of what it really is made of. (I've been shooting 1911's for over 50 years. My carry 1911 and 2011's are Les Baer TRS and Staccato C-2. I didn't expect their level of such low quality in the Girsan and I did expect it to be able to get thru at least one mag without issues. Which it rarely did. Took over a 1000 rounds to finally give up. GRRRRRR!!!!! (My Wife bought it for my B'day and didn't want to hurt her feelings as she saved for it and I very much appreciate it. Not many Wifes buy their Husbands a gun for a gift, but it couldn't be saved) KnifeMaker/Retired after over 47+ years in the Craft

That's odd. I have a .45 commander from Girsan, only had feed issues for the first 2 or 3 rounds in the first mag. Installed a holosun red dot with a custom plate.... and I over tightened one of the screws. Broke it inside the slide. Couldn't get it out. Suffice it to say, the red dot is now permanently attached. Other than that, I've had zero issues since. I love that gun. Seriously thinking about this 2311.
@n55Rob9 ай бұрын
@@southnyourmindthat’s probably because the “1911” design and parts were made around the .45 ACP….the 1911 9mms are known to have more issues than a .45 ACP 1911. All you have to do to change the 1911 to 9mm is a barrel/feed ramp, extractor, and ejector all other parts were designed around a different cartridge. Not saying 9mm 1911/2011s are not reliable you just have to do a lot more tuning and custom fitting with parts or designing parts to make it reliable hence why the “quality 2011s” are over $1500-$2000. I love 9mm 2011/1911s so don’t take me as talking shit on the platform as I currently have a Prodigy 4.25, RIA Tac Ultra MS Single Stack with the full Dust Cover (kind of rare now), a Apollo 11 4.9, and a Cosaint Arms COS21….absolutely love those guns but the only gun is trust my life to is honestly my Springfield Prodigy after I had everything replaced with different Springs (every spring), Tool Steel Internals, and I had a Marvel Ramp cut for the Disconnector….now it’s smooth as butter (it’s about as smooth as my dads Atlas) and it hasn’t had a malfunction in 1200 rounds.

They polished the anodizing off the barrel at the ejection port as well, which introduced some failing to eject issues (WHY???). Adjusted the front sight where it needed to be, and it began to walk out again. Then the rear sight plate screws started coming loose. I bonded and staked the front sight and bonded the rear plate. So can you buy performance? Yes. Does it make you any better compared to something more affordable but decent? Maybe not. I have a Staccato P with plain irons and it runs well and is super well made, however with decent duty pistol with optics and an upgraded trigger, I find I'm more accurate with the affordable duty pistol mostly because optics makes a world of difference in accuracy (plus some trigger time as well). Love 2011s, but they are not my go to pistol if there's an emergency, but if you can afford one, go for it. Maybe for a little more clam, but save some money, go with a $1K striker fire. It will serve you just as well.

No, no, no, nope. I will save more bottles and cans for recycling to be able to afford a double stack 1911 between $1,700 and $2,300. Taking the price point down to under that and you get crap.

Played with one in the store. The trigger was absolute trash. The slide to frame feel was gritty as if it was poorly fit. And the finish up close just plain looked bad. Id rather pay a lot more for better made and better fit with a good trigger. If i had to fix all the issues, it basically cost the same if not more
