As a Christian taekwondo practitioner my belief and obedience in Christ has made me a better taekwondo practitioner in serving others indeed! My mind body and spirit is sharper. I agree with you sir taekwondo is for one to be humble not spellcast to dominate the sport in Jesus name. ❤❤❤

I posted the first comment before viewing, but I wholeheartedly agree with your understanding. I like to think of the significance of self-control in taekwondo and as one of the fruits of the Spirit. I think of serving others in terms of being equipped to protect others if the situation requires. I find it interesting that no one seems to make the connection with the transformation of Jacob to Israel after surviving a wrestling match against God. In essence, the roots of the Israelite culture is based on a monumental event that we now classify as “martial arts “. Even when Moses encountered God, he was told to remove his shoes because he was standing on holy ground. How significant it is for us to remove our shoes when entering the mats. In a sense, I view my training as a time of meditation and prayer with our Holy God. As a Christian, I reflect on such things and more in reference to my beliefs when training, and hold it as a personal journey in my faith. People train for a myriad of reasons, but these are some of mine. Thank you again for tackling a topic seldom explored, and look forward to future content.

Uh oh, you said that when you covered the spiritual aspects and symbolism of TKD, the algorithm attacked you! I am always interested in this topic and hope you are victorious against another potential algorithm attack🙏🏻🎁🤣

I also got a question. When watching taekwondo sparring or a taekwondo competition, it always seems to me like they don’t block any strikes but just evade them. I looked up if blocking or parrying and other forms of defensive techniques are prohibited in the taekwondo rule set, but every source I saw said it’s a big part of taekwondo. A front kick ,for example, is often deflected by throwing the kick aside with the hands in combat sports like kickboxing or Muay Thai, but I’ve never seen this done in taekwondo before. Even if it’s not a technique which is taught in taekwondo, wouldn’t it be effective and beneficial to do so. Maybe I’m wrong about the whole blocking thing but it looks like that to me. Also, great video. It’s always a pleasure watching your videos🤙🏼

Question. In Koryo, the stepping side kicks step in front of the leg as opposed to behind. It seems to me that stepping in front of the leg puts it in the way when doing the side kick. If you step behind it seems more efficient. Why do you think this form was made to step in front of the leg when doing the stepping side kicks? For your question about answering some questions in a short video or keeping then in the longer Topic Tuesday video, I prefer the longer one because I listen to your video while I do other things with my ear buds in, just like how proposed we listen to your topic Tuesday videos. That's not to say I'd be super disappointed if you make short videos to answer questions. Not a big deal to me.
