@@BrockTheDon hahaha 🤣 thanks for your reply. That's their description about Taeyeon's singing and it was a few years ago. As for the "King"... I don't know the reason, but my best guess why Taeyeon preferred King instead of Queen is because her last name is 'Kim'.

One of my go-to crying songs 🥲 13:52 "Is she gonna fly up in the sky?" She actually did for another song from that same concert, one of my favourite Taeyeon b-sides, "Circus" 😊 Taeyeon hasn't written much herself, I believe the only songs she wrote lyrics for are "I" (her solo debut), "Can't Control Myself" and "To the Moon" (b-side from What Do I Call You), for the last one she's also credited as a co-composer. As for why she doesn't write much, I believe she's basically said that she doesn't really feel like using her personal life and experiences for her lyrics, she'd rather keep that to herself, so she's perfectly fine just singing stuff other people wrote. I think she said she's also not the type to write a diary, so I guess in that sense she's very much the opposite of Taylor Swift 😅 Btw if you haven't checked out "What Do I Call You", I highly recommend it, it's one of my favourite songs period. That entire mini-album also is one big vibe.

I guess the type of singing you are referring to here is called Belting? Not yelling or screaming but belting and yeah Taeyeon is great... she's warm and deep in her low/middle notes and powerful in her high notes and can be crystal clear if she goes light and airy. Not many can be that all at once in kpop.

Actually, the songwriter of this song has country roots so it makes sense that it feels like a Taylor Swift song. TS and Taeyeon are two of the artists that I love so much but the very difference between the two is that TS's main weapon is her songwriting while Taeyeon's is her voice and the talent to internalize the the emotions of the song (and the songwriter perhaps) and make them like her own. But Taeyeon CAN write songs that's for sure. She is just not comfortable expressing her personal stuff out in the public.
