There's a reason he's the leader/face of NCT, he was the first voice we heard when NCT began (NCT U: The 7th Sense), he is the physical manifestation of NEO, his blood runs neon green. I'm gonna miss him so much :( Also he does have some songs that are ballads kinda, but with a Taeyong twist, e.g Ruby is a synth ballad about his dog ruby that passed away, it was actually my most listened to song last year, sad but also an incredible synth soundscape.

Taeyong's born 1995, so not 30 yet. He probably could have delayed his service a bit more if he wanted to, but he might as well get it over with at a timing that works for him (avoid what happed to Kai). Taeil is a year older and hasn't enlisted yet, but that might be due to his knee injury.

i think taeyong's leader position for nct is the most crucial "leader" role ive ever seen. i love some other groups and obviously their leaders are very important too, but its different with him. he truly embodies what nct is supposed to be, and he led them to success in the early stages. i truly think their crazy concept only worked out because of him. mark, haechan and other members used to always call him their "pillar," and the members often say they felt a lot more comfortable performing their "neo" songs in the beginning because he was on stage with them. he basically created the meaning of the word "neo" as it relates to nct and they still carry that with them.

I'm going to miss taeyong soooooo much! He's my first bias to go to have military service. I've always stanned groups that are too young or groups where they've already gone. I hope he stays happy and healthy! For solo tracks check out Virtual Insanity from his Shalala album. It has a dance practice and stage performance! Also Ghost is phenomenal, it has a music/performance video on his personal youtube channel and he produced it with friends, choreographed it with friends, and produced the video himself (I think it's self funded)

I'm gonna miss this man! and we aren't going to be done having NCT members enlist until after 2035?! that sounds crazy to me! Nctzens are kinda lucky in that we have more non-korean members than korean members so we'll always have people who don't have to enlist!

yeah, NCT Wish are babies, but with just 2 Korean members in that unit (and 4 years between them), they'll probably stay active throughout and just perform with 5 when a member is serving. I'm kind of expecting Dream to enlist together, since they'll have to take a break when the 2000 liners serve. 127 I think will have to stagger the service and probably do some rare partial group combacks in between, kind of like EXO did.

Neo's got Simon"s back for suree NCT's intro for the album called EMPATHY is called "Neo Got My Back" and it just like a thing in the fandom where if someone vibes with some of the MOST NEO sounding songs immediately and they're like just getting into NCT- for example songs like - Sticker, Shalala, Kick It, Punch, Baggy Jeans and more... It's like a thing to say that Neo has that person's back you get me it's used for other things but this is like one of the main things this is said for

I don’t know NCT much & I only know Taeyong from SuperM. But this song was all over my TikTok when it first came out. He did dance challenges with everyone much like Changbin does 😅 definitely check out them out, the dance is really addictive, I love the shoulder rolls he does.

Taeyong has his own youtube channel which has some choreography videos with his unreleased songs you should check out! He also has a soundcloud with some incredible songs like blue, monore with baekhyun and rose with seulgi!! His bsides are also so so amazing and show a different side to his music.

WELCOME! I know Simon has neo blood flowing in his veins now hahaha and if you go to NCT via Taeyong you're on the right pathway I think. But let me tell you - you MUST hear what Taeyong does with a ballad. Omg. It's sooooooo beautiful. His albums are gorgeous, so many different sounds. But I agree, Taeyong is kind of a core element of NCT as a whole and NCT 127, but you know we do have NCT U and other fixes units that give us that neo sound as it exists outside of Taeyong directly but yeah. Ooooh Sticker is starting to reformat Kerry's brain!!! I love it! ❤

Taeyong is indeed something else. The b-sides on his two mini albums are so good and all self written. Each song is different in style and vibe. Most are very personal and atmospheric.

Taeyong's title tracks are just as outrageous as diverse his album is. He is a very emotional music maker, he talks about very deep stuff, his wounds, his trauma, his sadness, his responsibility on his songs, just listen to Blue(warning, I sobbed), Swimming pool(it's basically what I think feel about tge world and how I'm living), Ruby(I sobbed sooooo hard, tears brim everytime it's so beautiful and sad and touching)

It’s pretty crazy how Taeyong is going to the military now, only a couple months after Sehun, someone who debuted 4 years before, and Taemin only a couple years before that when he debuted 4 further years prior. So in the space of a couple years, the idols of groups spanning nearly a decade attend the military together. Kind of random but I just thought it was interesting.

Yes Kerry listen to the song without the MV and you'll get it better. Actually the Studio Choom version is brilliant because you see the choreo too. Simon I love that you're a Taeyong fan and once you get to watch more non music content of theirs I think you'll see other sides of him that are equally charming. NCT bias is so hard to pick! I think overall mine is Jungwoo, just overall personality and cute puppy-ness. I love Jaehyun for his voice and vibe and just overall so handsome. I love Haechan for his voice and dance skills and how hard working he is. Johnny sometimes is my bias because he's so funny and sarcastic and can just look at Mark and make him laugh. I think Renjun actually has a voice that doesn't get enough recognition. So I really have NCT problems. Taeyong is just an issue for everyone - he's soooo perfect for what NCT represents and is a great leader, while still being sweet.
