Finally got it in! 5 of 10 XS Power Batteries to be installed in this drop down battery box. It is invisible from the outside due to how high i was able to put it. Watch for the next install video - see what i get into next! ALL THE BUILD PICS are on my website in the forums. Scroll Down to "Just Meade's Builds" and its all there. Also, if you click "uninturrupted build pics" you will be taken to a thread where no one is talking but me and its ALL pictures! Join the forum today! Show us YOUR build!

Over 200 comments and 90% is about sealing up the battery box. Do you people really think that Steve is going to put that much time and thought into designing this system and just leave the batteries exposed to the elements. Common sense people, thats almost like leaving the windows down in a rainstorm. Excellent work so far Steve, keep it up!!!

I like the roll pan look. Gives the truck a nice "old school" look to the vehicle. Some people actually thought the hole weakened the structure of the vehicle? WTF!!! Great planning & work makes the projoct unique!!! SMD TV SHOW FTW!!! :)

aluminum doesnt weld to steel and no the water wont hurt the battery at all. It wont see much anyway.

Good job. I don't see any problem with the integrity of the frame being compromised because the enclosure will still sit on both parts of the floor. All you did was remove a portion that supports the floor where seats would normally be. The enclosure will use all of that room so the area of surface contact is still greater than that of the seats. If you were to add a little integrity I would add some type of crossmember to the bracing on the floor. Great job and good welding.

So if it rained really hard and it splashed on the batteries could that cause damage or no?
@teckim
@teckim 15 жыл бұрын
A stone could easily punch a hole in those batteries since they are made of plastic, probably better if you place something in the bottom of the battery box first, then lower the batteries ontop of that.(just for protection, better safe than sorry) Anyway it looks sweet. GJ 5*
@oliver2341
@oliver2341 15 жыл бұрын
btw, You should build a box around those batterys, you would be way better off, with them boxed in, to keep them from weather damage, and anything that flys up from the street and hit them and may puncture them.
