Thanks for this Danga. I'm just starting to get more into the specifics about time and tide etc. I'm starting to catch fish more consistently and this is going to help me narrow things down even further.

Anymore swan river tips you can give? Assuming using mulie bait though not lure
@DangasTackleTips10 ай бұрын
I don't bait fish much, but I would use unwaited mullies and slowly wind in around bridges and drop off areas on sunset and hour after sunset. I have a video called how to read a river which has some good swan tips 👍👍

Great informative video. If you coukd pick sunrise/sunset or change of tide, which do you think is more important?
@DangasTackleTips10 ай бұрын
Good question I would say sunrise is my favourite, although when it's overcast much better at other times of the day

New to beach spinning but any advice on how to set the hook on big fish while they are peeling line off the reel? Went spinning tonight in Perth with a glow shiver stick around 7pm and hooked onto something big but it just kept running and I couldn’t set the hook. I was barely able to pull on the line too take it off my reel when I was setting my drag but it still took so much line. This was on a nasci 5000.
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
@nathanaeln if you have trebbles on the shiver stick can give a decent rip once you feel it strike, most of the time they hit it when retrieving and hook themselves. If using singles hooks if rip the rod up vertically more likely to set the hook where with trebbles doesn't matter. Can always upgrade trebbles to bkks or use a hook file if the hooks are rusted. Always tricky to work out the right drag as well.

@@DangasTackleTips is it worth upgrading the singles to bkk singles? And do you have any recommendations for how tight to set the drag? When I checked my drag I couldn’t even pull it with my hand. Absolutely spewing
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
@nathanaeln if you can't pull it with your hand probs too strong mate
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
You want to try and set no more than 1/3rd strength of your braid.
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
@nathanaeln with the singles they are pretty good out of the box, if you wash the salt off after use then will stay sharp. I tend to upgrade if going on a trip or they are blunt after a few decent sessions or hitting rock

Do you have any lure recommendations for early morning tailor before first light? Right now I’m able to fish in the morning but I need to get to work just before sunrise now in winter.
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
Surface lures or stickbaits like shiversticks or ssm zipbaits work well in the dark mate
@nathanaeln6 ай бұрын
@@DangasTackleTips any colour recommendations? Or are they mainly looking at the lure silhouette?
@DangasTackleTips6 ай бұрын
I just use my normal colours like white underneath, pilcjard, gold ect @nathanaeln
