Mate, just saw this on Facebook. I watch a LOT of fishing videos filmed around Perth and this is one of the best videos I’ve seen. I’m not a beginner fisherman but I love how you show all aspects of what you need to know like lures, rods, line/braid, tides, swell, weather ect. Subscribed and look forward to more. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Thanks James! I tie the double uni a lot! I generally tie a fg knot at home and then use a double uni when out and need to change leader as easy and quick. Also double uni with long leaders and light lines can also be a little easier on the guides

Thanks mate, im currently in the market for a 'heavier' tailor lure rod and found this video very helpful. I used to own a Shimano Squidgy surf 10ft, from memory it was a 5-10kg and could handle the big Ritcher Chisels and large Halco Twisty's very well when needed, and was and excellent rod to use during the salmon run. Saddly I sold the rod last year and am now regretting it. I'm currently looking at the Maikuro 4-7kg surf which looks the part. Ill check out your other videos mate, I really enjoy them, I'm not far either, just down in Bunbury here. Thank you mate.

@DangasTackleTips Жыл бұрын
Hey mate hope the holiday goes well! My key advice for this time of year is that the river is firing ansd a good option if the wind is up on the beach. You can always find a bend in the river where the wind is bareable. Otherwise beautiful beach fishing first light 🤙

@DangasTackleTips2 ай бұрын

can you effectively use soft plastics in the same way as hardbodys in the river? as in a medium-fast retrieve over drop offs etc
@DangasTackleTips3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much mate, you can use flick baits across the top, paddle tails in medium/ fast and can bump up the jig head weight for longer casts 👍👍

@@DangasTackleTips do winter/summer or any seasons affect the catch rate for lures?
@DangasTackleTips2 жыл бұрын
@@xccude yeah mate, river gets more difficult over the winter with drop in temp and fresh water from the rain. However, bigger tailor tend to come in winter. Less numbers but bigger size with 60-70cm. For the salmon run will start to wind down into winter. Winter lures like plugs work a bit better
@xccude2 жыл бұрын
@@DangasTackleTips you reckon bait is a good alternative for winter as well? Bait is pretty expensive and can get messy which is why I am keen to start lure but it's going into winter now.
@DangasTackleTips2 жыл бұрын
@@xccude bait will always be effective, but I like to fish after and before work so using lures you don't have to deal with the smell and can get to spots down the beach without carrying a heap of gear

With the Surecatch Knight metal lure would you ever on occasion have the need for the 60 gm ?

I stand by that a graphite rod for Lure Fishing is superior, of course not the best for bait. My graphite rods for light weight and casting distance all day. As for lure size, definitely debatable for sure. What type of rod do you Like to use for lures on tailor?
