the wilderness is bringing out the Id in tai,it would be amazing if there was a magical element to the show.

Excited to watch this. When will book club happen? I have an annotated Paradise Lost, notes by Asimov. I got it from the library.

Do you think the entity called forth with the symbol and the Man With No Eyes are one in the same? They are both within the altar she makes. Or are they a duality that works together when called, like a god-goddess combo? I never got the vibe the Man With No Eyes was evil. At first, I thought he was more like Charon, leading the grandmother to the realm of the dead. Not sure what he represents now. We only really got that one time Van followed Tai when she saw the Man With No Eyes and that was it in season two. I wish he had more screen time since he was set up strongly.

I still don't know if the Wilderness "god" is the same as the Man with no Eyes, but it certainly adds another layer to this dichotomy as well. I don't know if the Man with no Eyes is evil, or a psychopomp, or a demonic entity haunting Taissa, but I am inclined to think the latter because of the connection to her grandmother. I really hope we see more of him in S3.

Im not sure I would label Tai as “uncivilized”. Impulsive and highly ambitious yes. But she seems to be pretty secure in her place in society before the crash. And even in the years afterwards she seems to have been able to at least fake it until she makes it enough that she presumably finished her education and got involved with her wife and was considered healthy and stable enough to adopt a child even with the disadvantages of being a black lesbian woman fighting against homophobia and sexism and racism in multiple systems

I don't think Sammy was adopted, that has never been suggested in the series. I would consider "uncivilized" apt. She has to work hard to keep her unhinged qualities under control. She told Diane Rafaelson to go eff herself; she goes outside barefoot in a dress to fight an imaginary wolf; and she tried to kill Simone. I definitely understand it's a harsh word, but Tai's behavior deserves harsh analysis. Thank you for watching and commenting! Appreciate you! 🐺

@@FeyFireA black woman telling a white racist woman to go eff herself isn’t “unhinged”. Even saying so is incredibly insulting.

Definitely some interesting musing on the Man with No Eyes. I haven’t gotten the impression that Tai in any way worships him/that entity. More like it/he is something that has been haunting her steps. Or just something that appears perhaps when the veil between life and death is thinning, but not necessarily a demonic in the Christian sense. Though it does seem her grandmother was scared of it being something Dark or just losing her perception of what was real and not as death neared. I wonder if the man is even meant to be a portrayal of Death itself. Just not the traditional idea of a black robed figure and scythe.

Tai definitely causes more than we know. I think she caused the fire, and im even predicting the whole crash is because the man with no eyes wants HER after she saw him, but because it was through a mirror hes restricted somehow and cant walk up to her like he did her grandmother and jjst take her. Explains the mirror scenes, and the fact that she originally was trying to walk off a cliff while sleepwalking. Like hes trying to kill her and thats the only way he can. The events of the wildwrness are all scemes he puts jn place to attempt to get the other girls to eventually hunt her?

It would be interesting to see a video correlating the deaths in the show vs. the "blessings" they receive.

Do you think Dark Tai was present when she hurt Allie? I think it was. I wonder if Dark Tai came to her as a girl through the mirror when she saw the Man With No Eyes.

I do think so, and then afterwards she felt super guilty, similar to after Van was attacked. But she blacks out in the moment - just like she accused Shauna!

I am pretty sure that is Adam’s heart, not Biscuit’s. It just is a little bigger than a dog’s heart and Dark Tai could have taken it. Either way…creepy but I guess needed to win a election? :/

For you to insert your political opinion on a fictional show is annoying tbh. When people watch your videos they do it to go deep into a show, not to be subjected to your political inclinations that are both irrelevant to the show and uncalled for. Im here to see things related to Yellow Jackets, not do be swayed into voting/not voting for a clown of either party.

@@A-wr3rl This video is commenting on themes within the show Yellowjackets, where Taissa plays a US Senator. I didn't write the show, but if you have problems with the way the story is written, perhaps it isn't the show for you. As far as the rest, this is actually my channel, and I can really say anything I want to here.

@@FeyFire i am aware about the parallel of politics and Tai. Thats not what i mean, i meant like you literally telling people who to not vote for lol it just caught me off guard, because im sure me and other people go to these type of channels to escape the real world and politics and really immerse ourselves and analyze the shows we like. Thats all, just a critique. Its your channel and you are free to post whatever you want, but im also free/allowed to have an opinion about it.

I agree completely. I disagree with her analysis of the character and the reference to Kamala as well. I very much found the comparison to Kamala to be a compliment and not a diss the way it's portrayed here. So unfortunate.

Dissociative Identity Disorder was formerly called multiple personality disorder, and already see negative portrayal of the condition. Further more I am not a fan of them giving this story to a woman of colour, going for the crazy black woman trope. DID has been found to be caused by repeated traumatic stress to children before their brain has fully developed. The trauma causes them to "dissociate" when experiencing triggers to their trauma, bringing forth the presence of an "alter/personality" in order to protect the child or host body from knowing what is going on. A very dangerous and common misconception, is that some alters "are evil/do crazy things". They are/can be called protectors and their main goal is to protector the person from having to experience trauma. CPTSD appears to quite common as well and a few DID content creators have said or implied that catalyst was extreme amounts of CSA. Unless they go into her background as a kid more, I don't believe they will be handling this story with respect. Check out med circle's channel and watch Encina Severa's interview's about her experience with DID.
