This is typical Captain America. A guy wearing a cartoonishly patriotic suit shows up holding a shield and starts talking. There was a comic book series put out by Marvel in the 1980s called Contest of Champions. All of Marvels Super Heroes and villains were kidnapped and taken to some location on another plane to battle. At the start, Prof. X and Mr. Fantastic had a meeting and decided immediately that Captain America should lead the super heroes. Wolverine became upset ("He's the weakest of us all and you want us to follow him?") Within a few minutes even Wolverine had to reluctantly admit that Cap knew what he was doing.

I do not agree with Chris Evans politics. In fact, he would likely call me a fascist (my being a conservative). That doesn't matter. His performance of Steve Rogers/Captain America was 100% perfect in my eyes. He is exactly what I always imagined Cap would be on the movie screen. I am sure Jack Kirby would have agreed. Well done Chris. You have my thanks.

This might still be my favorite Avengers battle, its the only time where we really get to see them struggle to protect a civilian population and i think still has the best depicition of them as a combat team. In Age of Ultron they remove almost all of the civilians immediately and the other ones we mainly just see them act as super powered individuals

And the ones perished were hidden off-screen then suddenly brought up in Civil War because fictional Eastern European people mean squat.

The cop asks a reasonable question and immediately got a reasonable answer. What makes this scene really good is at first, the police look at Captain as being a clown who has no credibility but immediately recognize how much of use he can be to them after seeing him in action. Actions speak louder than words and Captain’s actions spoke volumes to the cops on the ground.
