Max, With much joy, I'm watching your travels and interactions with the PEOPLE of VN. They are special and have adapted to very difficult times. Your VN mother is typical of a wonderful older Mamma san (SP) who will treat someone who they have a special liking, as their own son. Your very lucky to be able to travel in VN and learn so much about such special culture. My time in VN was 54 years ago during different times. My wish is to return and go back and visit places I did not have a chance to enjoy PEACEFULLY.

They truly are special people in vietnam which is why I fell in love with it years ago. Freakin Max, made me teared up 3 min into the video. Reminded me when I was back in VN. Visited my VN friend's relative, his relative not his family, who lives in a small village, their house has only a few modern things. And after a full blown feast they cooked themselves, they gave me a bunch of food for the trip home. I kid you not, the Vietnamese generosity is best exemplified by giving what they have in the house even if it's not fancy or nice, like old plastic containers, reused plastic bag to hold the food, small bag of sticky rice for the road, one time a sugarcane stick as a snack.
