On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

That aircraft and weapon system kept NATO up at night. It was designed to hunt B-1B's IN the ground clutter. Not A models at altitude. Find Lancers in the valleys going at the speed of heat and knock them out like ducks in a shooting gallery. Definitely why the B-2 worth more than it's weight in gold bullion was given the go ahead and why the Space Shuttle was flying so many NRO missions in the late 1980's and early 90's.

The last mass produced original airframe to come out of Russia was the Su-27/30 series, and its numerous "new variants" even discounting the Chinese copies. The Su-57 was a flop and the 75 is a pipe dream that I'll personally be surprised to see leave prototype stages. Meanwhile, there are more brand new F-35s in service than any of the Su-27 and its variants. Then Europe has developed and produced appreciable numbers of Eurofighter, Rafale, Gripen whilst also procuring F-35s and working on next-gen aircraft. So sure, we may make upgrades to older airframes, F-18, F15, 16 etc but atleast the new ones bear fruit.

The Mig-31's main mission was not to shoot down ICBMs and satellites. It was to intercept aircraft and cruise missiles. It may have some secondary anti-satellite role, like the F-15 would have had with the ASM-135 ASAT, but no ICBM intercept capability.

That is a useless fight because stealth in dcs is modelled in a way so radars cant see the plane at all regardless of the range which is not realisctic, but even if it were it would be useless because the 31 has to come to about 10-30 miles (only my guess) to see it on radar and that would not happen

I spent years aboard the USS Eisenhower CVN69 in the early 1980's with two F-14 squadrons aboard, VF-142 and VF-143 and they never carried six Phoenix missiles. Just two on the wing pylons because they're so heavy it puts too much stress on the airframe to carry that much weight on the underbelly.

@@itspersiangulfmoron.repeat2242 Yeah, 6 Phoenix exceeds max carrier landing weight for the Tomcat, I was also aboard the IKE in the 80's and 90's, did 4 deployments...Typical carrier loadout was 2 Phoenix, 3 Sparrow, 2 Sidewinder, drop tanks and 675 20 mm rounds
