I totally understand your guys point on Anakin’s turn being to sudden based on what was shown in the movies. The Clone Wars animated show actually dives deep into all the reasons behind his sudden change in the live action movies. That’s the reason why I love The Clone Wars animated show. Dave Filoni does such a good job with fleshing out the characters in an amazing way that makes you understand the outcome of their arc. If you truly want more of an understanding on Anakin, and even the Clones themselves, make sure to watch the show.

Palpatine breaks Anakin under immense pressure of Padme's imminent death and then makes sure to keep him busy: - he orders Anakin to wipe out the Jedi Temple to fully immerse him in the dark side and break any remaining bonds with the Jedi - he also orders to wipe out Separatists on Mustafar, obviously someone has to shut down the droid army and kill any loose ends, but it's important for Anakin as well. Separatists were his enemies for years, Nute Gunray wanted to kill Padme multiple times. While in Jedi Temple Anakin had an attitude of "I do it, because I must", on Mustafar he actually enjoyed it. It's all possible due to all the seeds planted for years, but we needed plenty of supplementary material to finally have the transition have a bit more sense.

I think the symbolism of Yaddle opening the door back up is that even if you cover the room in darkness, the light will always return
@mitchellhayward6492
@mitchellhayward6492 Жыл бұрын
No. She's holding up the door, and the light shining through, represents how she's still trying to hold on to Dooku, as he - like that door - is slipping; and when that door is closed, all that is left for Dooku is darkness. With that in mind, Qui-Gon is dead, and Yaddle is the only person left who cares enough about Dooku to help him. From the beginning of the Clone Wars to the end, no Jedi ever cared about Dooku enough to help him. Not even Yoda, who wrote him off as a failure. Dooku doesn't have a Luke Skywalker to save him in the end.

9:25 I understand. What makes the Clone Wars animated series so great, they actually shows more details about why Anakin doesn't trust the Jedi order than the Prequel trilogy. It looks like Anakin and Dooku have alot in common with that. However, Dooku's fall feels different because he wasn't as aggressive as Anakin was

I know it shouldn't be like this, but Anakin's turn works better with the context of stuff like The Clone Wars series. Having more knowledge about him, the jedi system at that time, and how they treated him makes it work really well for me. I love Anakin's story.

To be fair, at the time of creating the original trilogy, Lucas was just bringing an idea he had in his head to life. He never really imagined Star Wars would blow up like this. Now Star Wars is huge so in turn, more detailed stories are now being created to fill in all the gaps. It’s different to what we are accustomed to in story telling, but I like it because it feels like it’s a never ending story lol. Some good some bad.

To me it looked like Yaddle lost hope and let herself die when she saw that the Sith Lord was Palpatine. There's a shot where the light's coming from outside as the Force Theme plays and the light falls on Dooku and Palpatine turns away from it, and then they show Yaddle's face looking at the Sith Lord's face obscured by the shadow of his hood and that's when something changes and her strength fails. I think she realized who the Sith Lord was and how Dooku had fallen, and it broke her.

i liked that scene where Master Yaddle lifts the door and light hit palpatine face and she can see him under the hood. i felt like it was her last effort to know who the sith lord was before she dies so she could "tell" someone after she joins the force.

Thats why you should watch Clone Wars. Clone Wars fleshed put the prequels in such a huge way. You get more of all the characters, that's what makes it so good. You see the war from so many perspectives

I have a theory as to how Yaddle survived the door being closed on her, if you look close enough there's actually two layers to it, maybe we just saw in inner layer fully close and she managed to stop the outer layer and was hidden! Also did anyone else think that the door looked like a sinister toothy grin when it was partially open? Great reaction BTW.

In the movies, the clone wars and books we saw why Anakin turned his back on jedi order. - the contest badgering from Mace - the order turning there back on Ashoka - keeping him the dark after the fake assassination of Obi-Wan - the order refusing to save his mother from slavery - and so much more.....

This episode is the best among all the 6 episodes and it further reinforces why the animated series like Clone Wars & Rebels are essential viewing. If there was one person who could have possibly stopped Palpatine, it would have been Qui Gon. Don't forget Dave Filoni has stated on record that Qui Gon was meant to fill the father figure role for Anakin and the Duel Of The Fates (Qui Gon + Obi Wan vs Maul) was the most important fight, hence the name. Additionally, him dying may have unintended consequences like pushing Dooku even further into darkness which allowed Palpatine to seduce him. If Qui Gon had been alive, things may end up VERY differently for Anakin & Dooku.

Jedi, like any living being, have feelings. However, the Jedi Code states, “There is no emotion, there is peace.” Therefore, the Jedi, given their code and strict upbringings in the Jedi Temple, it's safe to say that Jedi learn to control their feelings, and appear emotionless. To give in to emotion leads to the dark side. They are basically logic based first.

you have to understand that Anakin was slowly lured towards the dark side by Palpatine during the expanse of the Clone Wars, with the Republic being torn in two. Anakin once spoke to Padme about politicians being made to agree if they disagreed on things. So he got lured by the prospect of bringing peace to the galaxy by bringing order. Darth Maul was the "hammer" used to strike at the Jedi Darth Tyranus/Count Dooku was the "Tyrant" used to divide the Republic in two and lead the Separatists Darth Vader was the "invader/conqueror" used to bring order to the galaxy

The main reason the animated side of star wars story's are animated is because theirs is so much more you could do in animation than live action. It would have been cool if this series was live action but it is still better animated in my opinion.

Dooku is voiced by Corey Burton, who also voices Dooku in 'The Clone Wars'. And while that is Ian McDiarmid voicing Palpatine (Palpatine's voice actor in the Clone Wars, Ian Ambercrombie passed away while Season 7 was in production and was replaced by Tim Curry), Mace Windu is also voiced by his Clone Wars Voice Actor, T.C. Carson. All of Tales of the Jedi uses the same animation and actors as The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. You're also going to see/hear Matt Lanter back as Anakin Skywalker, and Ashley Eckstein as Ahsoka. Dave Filloni also came to prominence in Star Wars fandom as the EP/showrunner/lead writer of Clone Wars, so it's very much a reunion all around. Again, I highly recommend doing at least one watch-through of Clone Wars, along with Rebels and Bad Batch, because the series that Filloni has put out are all amazing, individually and connectively. There literally is no better Star Wars, and this is coming from someone who's loved the franchise since I saw it in theaters back in 1977...

Another thing they didn't talk about in video media: Syfo-Dias was Dooku's closest friend, but was blessed/cursed with true foresight and not just getting the jumbled flashes other Jedi would get. The council never believed Syfo's visions, even after they came true. Nor would they try to help him when his visions were slowly driving him mad, since they were mostly apocalyptic disasters that could have been avoided. "I have been trying to warn the Council of the coming darkness" implies Dooku was believing that the Council was arrogant and complacent.

It was pretty clearly about Duku and symbolism using light and darkness and not so much about Yaddle in that scene she lifts the door. Not only that, it's doing basically what you said you wished you'd seen more of in him. Watch it again, he's on his knees which Steph actually brought up, the emperor tells him to rise and take his place at his side as his apprentice, and right before he chooses to, the music plays and the light comes in and he turns to it before turning away from it and it goes all dark again. Having just killed Yaddle probably made it confusing to ya cause the moment you were looking for came right after, but if we know one thing in star wars than there's LITERALLY nothing you can't come back from.. you can genocide multiple species and peoples by blowing up planets, take a lazer sword and slaughter little kids, slaughter every member of a type of religion or order (which super powers basically prove to be a true one), anyone good or special enough and countless along your way to find them, including children unless they submit to be enslaved and committ to being mass murderers themselves.. although several of them along with others who serve you, you murder at one point or another because they or someone or something else annoyed or disappoint you, or just in the wrong place at the wrong time while you were upset about something... You can murder all your classmates before growing up to murder your Dad, and billions as you replace democracy with slavery let alone the species, cultures, history of three planets you blow up.. or murdering your pregnant wife and attempting to kill your children from the time they were in the womb till they're grown ups themselves can be the least of what you've done and still be redeemed in Star Wars if you turn back to the light before death, LITERALLY... Don't even need to do any good either, maybe just stop the person you brought to kill your kid from finishing what you started moments earlier and is only there cause you brought him.. as long as you turn back to the light before you die, as we see with Anakin/Vader.. and again with Kylo Ren in Rise of Skywalker... both of whom we know become one with the force, immediately too as Anakin is there at the end of Return of the Jedi with the other life force ghosts, Yoda and ObiWan who stupidly spent their lives serving others and sacrificing having, well anything including their childhood let alone benefiting off their power.. and Kylo's body disappears similar to those who've been force ghosts in Luke, Obi wan, Yoda and Anakin. Stupid Obiwan, spent his life doing everything right including living in a cave in a dessert for decades protecting kids from being murdered by Anakin, and ends up the exact same place with him...

Anakin never mastered his emotions from the start it just was always a undertone of his character from killing all the sand people and including children without mercy to love he was already on the highway to hell aka dark side just needed his groomers trigger. Dave Filoni did more for Count Dooku's character arc in 45 minutes then George did in two movies. Seems like a lot of characters that George spent little time on finally got the treatment they deserved whether it was Maul, Yaddle ,Count Dooku or even Boba at least in the Mandalorian season 2. George was great at creating characters but not developing them. Filoni took one of the worst characters from the prequels and actually made us care about him.

It just fascinates me, Palpatine using the corruption of the senate to seduce Dooku to the dark side when it's Palpatine who's been corrupting the senate for decades! Dooku just seems to miss that fact. He's a Sith lord. Corrupting innocence is what they do but I guess the Jedi order doesn't teach much about the Sith because Dooku doesn't seem to make the connection.

Actually, the previous episodes in the series were there to show that corruption already existed in the Senate and Palpatine only used it to gain power. It has been a constant theme through the whole Clone Wars series as well. Palpatine, if anything, escalated that corruption to the point where the people started believing that the Republic was failing them. If you notice, Palpatine created the Confederacy of Independent Systems through Dooku but many star systems joined because they lost faith in the Republic. The Republic and the Jedi had lost to Palpatine because of their own failures and I don't think they learnt from that.
What it feels like cleaning up after a toddler.
