Meganium might not be a powerhouse battlewise, however, it is still extremely powerful in one sense. Helping with mental health. I mean you have a walking plant dinosaur you don’t have to water. That’s really refreshing. And it’s fragrance can soothe spirits and it has healing properties. Innocence it would be ranked as one of the more powerful ones not do the strength, but from the fact, you can help one’s mental health and spiritual health. And I feel like it be important to make sure the trainer doesn’t take their own life due to stress or something they’re going through. So physically, it’s not strong however, it is still strong enough to help the trainer survive.

You got a few things wrong about Charizard. Ash had a Charizard that didn't listen or respect him. Not all are like that. And saying they only have close and mid range attack is crazy. Flamethrower and fireblast, blast burn, solar beam, dragon pulse, i mean its highest stat is literally SPECIAL ATTACK.

Im a certified charizard hater so i cant believe im saying this... but i think you put him too low. Flight is just an exceptionally powerful ability. That said, i never really considered that its only ranged attacks are mid range at best (aside from blast burn and fire blast, but both of which are surprisingly easily dodged). Thats a really good point i think few bring up! But yeah flight would make it a tier minimum imo. I really like this type of content! Analyzing pokemon based on a more shonen esque viewpoint is cool! It represents more how the world actually fights in my eyes, pokemon battles In-Verse are 3 dimensional, which this represents well!

I'm not a Charizard fan, but isn't it's flames canonically powerful enough to melt mountains if not at least boulders? If the Pokedex doesn't have an entry for it Pokemon mystery dungeon does. The Charizard on Alakazam's team was stated to have flames powerful enough to melt mountains

Pokedex entries are often very over the top and aren't canonical representations of Pokemon. And Mystery Dungeon is a Spin Off, it's further away from canon than the main games.

If you do this again in the future you should use their abilities, hidden abilities, stats, and moves learned by level-up as part of the criteria. Speed boost, unaware, unburden, solar power, etc. would all be interesting irl.

@@swoonsupreme7005 It could go both ways, ie: Sceptile and Serperior are both cold blooded reptiles but also plants that require sunlight so in regions like Sinnoh or Northern Canada/Russia they wouldn't thrive or so you would think. Serperior has access to the ability contrary, so the cold climate could actually buff Serperior. As for Sceptile, as a reference, Garchomp despises the cold yet it lives in Sinnoh and the dex entries say that it rushes out and hunts at breakneck speeds and quickly returns back into the depths of its cave to warm up from geothermal heat. What's stopping Sceptile from growing in a cave and hunting the same way? Staraptor who learns tailwind and brave bird would likely treat Sceptile like a delicacy. It's just cool to think about how they would interact in different regions.

Honestly the only thing I disagree in this video. If a Gorilla charges at you there is no escape. It's bulky, it's surprisingly fast, it's a GORILLA. Now include the fact it's a Pokemon, thus probably even stronger and it's ability to trap others with roots, it's definitely not bottom 10.

Inteleon is like the John Wick of Pokemon. I'd argue even outside of starters, including megas etc. Inteleon is probably still at the absolute top. Maybe just a few main legendaries and Palafin are above it, pretty much immune against it but if you have a mach 3 gun and James Bond aim then it's pretty much impossible to defeat. Also Meowscarada isn't the most intelligent starter, Sobble and Drizzile being very Introverted and Inteleon being a literal Spy, who needs to be smart on missions makes Inteleon probably the smartest of them.

Infernape should be the strongest of the FF trio because it’s not only a physical fighter, but also a special attacker. It’s also the fastest of the three with greater feats given it’s based off sun wukong, who was unbeatable.

You are crazy, i find cinderace one of the best if not the best starter on this list, Have you not slapped a heavy boots and counter with court change yet? Also the ability to change types. It can outspeed a lot of mons and can be counters for toxapex (Zen headbutt) tyranitar and nacl (High jump kick) zoroark husui, dragapult (flame charge), victini with sucker punch. Tera to any type and put tera blast as well. Nukes everything being an adamant choice band, blaze, tera fire, under the sun and pyro ball 🔥. Only meowscarada and greninja can keep up.

Disagree with the fire fighters, infernape pokedex entry states it uses a style that implements all it's limbs, that's much closer to Muay Thai or lethwei, than Blaziken as it's entries all talk about it kicks, so kickboxing or sanda, Emboar is just a brawler

You really REALLY downplayed Swampert. You talked about how he drags boulders, the dex says he EASILY drags them that weigh a ton. That's some power to be dragging 2 thousand pounds with little effort.... But then there's gen 4s dex that mentions the mon being able to swim while towing a large ship! While the exacts aren't given that's still some massive implications that changes the perplexion of just how strong Swampert is. For a vid that talks about canon, your cases are more of taking the dex and creating your own headcanon for your cases that are debatable at best. I mean you sure did downplay the physical prowess of a frickin gorilla who in the real world are emposing as hell and how insane it is for a mon to weappnize a pebble of all things.. The concept was there, but the execution left more to be desired.

I think you did a really good job with this video and the list is very well thought out. With one exception imo: blastoise. It has multiple dex entries claiming that it's water blasts can punch through thick steel, and others that say it shoots very accurately. And that's in addition to the fact that it can use the same turrets for high speed propulsion. I dont think canonically it'd be the strongest as inteleon canonically is insanely powerful in combat, but blastoise imo should definitely be higher. Also emboar has dex entries that claim it mastered techniques. Just thought I'd throw that info out. All in a good video and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Though I'm not a fan of the Meganium line, I have to at least speak on it's behalf. The Gen 2 grass starter was introduced in part to familiarize players to the stall playstyle Gen 2 would later come to be known for. That, and given the penchant new players had for being over reliant on and over leveling their starter, I imagine the good folks over at Gamefreak wanted at least one of the starters to be more dependent on team building. You can easily solo the Johto region with Typhlosion and Feriligatr, but with Meganium, you probably should build a balanced team. Could it have been done better? Most definitely! In my own Chikorita playthrough, I had to have a team every step of the way.

Chikorita makes for a really fun challenge run too. When I last played through Crystal, I decided to use underrated or "weak" pokemon only. Meganium, poliwrath, raticate, furret, ariados, and noctowl all had to work together to help each other overcome their struggles. And it worked! I became champion with raticate becoming that team's mvp. I wanted to continue on to Red, but sadly, my game's battery died before I got the chance to try it out.
