43:12 if you worried about being a good dad that’s the first indicator that your going to be a good dad. The goal is just telling your kids that they’re growing up that you’re trying your best and that you love and care about them there’s no such thing as perfect parenting

The benefit of winning at adcc is more accreditation when opening a gym. But i think min take home should be like 50k

I’d go 100k 1st 60k 2nd 40k third plus submission bonuses and bonus for super fight 100k
@uke_mike8 ай бұрын
I’m probably in the minority here, but I would really love to see a super fight every ADCC one for women one for men in the GI, To acknowledge the roots and the tradition of where it all began and you might get some exciting matches because it’s on such a huge stage.

Couldn’t agree more on the fighter pay and net profits argument. It’s disgusting but I do believe someday it will get unionized like the other sports just hope it happens sooner than later

Not trying to be pedantic, but I find it sooooo funny how people pronounce "uke" here in the US. Pronouncing it like oo-kee rather than oo-kay completely changes the meaning of the word. Uke is the shortened form of uketomeru which means "to accept, to catch, or react to". Uki means a lot of random other things depending on how it's spelled in Kanji. Not a big deal, just nerding out about Japanese 😂. Great show! I enjoyed the ADCC and comp pay talks :)

UFC bonuses are a joke. back in 2008 they had 75K bonuses that switched to 50k bonuses TODAY. Being on a half/half bonus is such a scam too. If someone is scared of losing half their paycheque, they will to anything to secure a win, including being ultra conservative and risk averse. Fighters are so anti labour unions it's sad. Working against their best interests. Like Joey said, the biggest leagues in America have player associations and have collective bargaining. It has empowered and enriched their athletes over the years.

The fighters should still be able to get their own brands. I'm sure they would love that to be a thing again

I don’t get how they’re independent contractors, but they can’t fight anywhere else, when I was a independent contractor and maybe it’s different here in Canada, I literally had to have more than one contract that paid me or I couldn’t qualify as an independent contractor

It’s so weird that people feel they are entitled to someone else’s money.
@alexwong73249 ай бұрын
That's the whole point of negotiation. The top names think they bring more value to the organization than they are being compensated for. That's what we all do when negiotating salaries or pay.
@blankbandits8 ай бұрын
I would imagine that ADCC probably operated at a loss for many years and/or had very little actual profit. At this stage of the bjj evolution, ADCC has done more than most to highlight the awesomeness of this sport. They likely are just tipping the point at which they are now making profit. The presentations, i.e., from last ADCC, look expensive to pull off, so we really don't know how much money there is to go around.

Okay, do YOU want to see the best grapplers competing at ADCC? Or do you want "the best grapplers that agreed to compete for this amount of money" competing.

This statement ignores the underlying systemic exploitation of labor under capitalism. People are often forced to accept low wages due to their lack of bargaining power.
