Talk Talk was another great 80's band. The lead singer is Mark Hollis. Died of cancer in 2019 at age 64 years. He was a superb singer.

Gwen Stefani of No Doubt was lead singer for this song, and was also covered by 10000 Maniacs. 10k has a break out star Natalie Merchant. " These are the Days " " Jealousy " Carnival. " " Thank You ". A long list of hits with the band and her solo career.

This is the quintessential 80s song. One of the best, if not the best song that came out of the 80s. My favorite.

This is a great 80's band and song, I Love it! I LOVE 80's music. I was a child and in high school in the 70's so I grew up with the music from the 70's and 60's but 80's music was my 20's era, when I was grown, independent etc. So many great memories from the 80's. Thanks Ace for bringing them back. 🥰

The original video of their song "Talk Talk" (Yup, same as the band's name) is the greatest thing to come out of the 80's

Yeah, if you actually pay attention to it, that line with the conga drums is just stupendous, and then as they hit the later part of the song after his long solo, they move it to your right ear and it blends perfectly in, but if you keep paying attention to it, he uses all the pieces of the puzzle that he laid out in the solo, and now he starts going off and assembling them and just flowing like crazy; it's so incredible.

Cool. "It's My Life" dropped when I was in high school. Their other big hit was the eponymously titled single "Talk Talk". This live version sounds really good. The conga interlude was a nice touch, especially the way all the other instruments joined back in, layer upon layer, before dropping on a dime right back into the bridge.

Talk Talk is such a great band. They were one of the groups I'd buy anything I could find of theirs. Their extended mixes were jaw dropping. Songs to check out: Talk Talk (that's the name of their song as well as the band's name), Such a Shame, Life's What You Make It, Living In Another World, Pictures of Bernadette, Happiness Is Easy and It's a Shame. And definitely check out the extended mix of this song, it's well worth revisiting!

I've been away too long. Apologies, Ace. This song brought me back -- an all-time favorite of mine -- song and band. It was fantastic seeing how much you enjoyed this! And great hearing your humor again, 😅😅They have lots of other good songs. Here are my favorites : "Living In Another World", "Give it Up", "Such a Shame", "Renee" "Tomorrow Started" from Live in London-- you'll love this! , and "Life's What You Make It". Don't worry if they don't have a ton of views because you're looking for good music! :-)

An 80s classic! The studio version is better - silky smooth production - but this is close enough to get a decent idea. In the US, this band was a one-hit wonder. No idea if they had further hits in the UK, which is often the case.

Great original version live. As others have pointed out No Doubt ripped off everything about it

Mark Hollis wrote this and their other big hit "Life's what you make it" = he has a similar voice to Bryan Ferry IMO of Roxy Music and solo fame.
